Bostwana a land locked country in Africa that, is hailed as one of the most progressive countries on the continent. They have held a consistent record of uninterrupted democratic elections.Botswana ranks 30th out of 167 states in the 2012 Democracy Index. According to Transparency International, Botswana is the least corrupt country in Africa Botswana is topographically flat, with up to 70 percent of its territory being the Kalahari Desert. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast. Its border with Zambia to the north near Kazungula is poorly defined but at most is a few hundred metres long. A mid-sized country of just over 2 million people, Botswana is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, now boasting a GDP (purchasing power parity) per capita of about $18,825 per year as of 2015, which is one of the highest in Africa. 11 Likes 3 Shares

Affluent landlocked countries such as Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein (one of the "doubly landlocked" countries, between Switzerland and Austriais one of the wealthest countries in the world). Switzerland and Liechtenstein have adopted policies to be a more service based economy than a product based economy. As such, the presence or absence of a port does not hinder the overall prosperity of the nation. It has followed an export-oriented strategy, but adjusted to high transport costs by specializing in the export of: - high-value goods (watches, clocks, scientific instruments), and - specialized services (banking, insurance). These reflect Switzerland’s comparative advantage and do not depend on low transport costs. If Switzerland can do this, why can’t Biafra? 10 Likes

Rwanda’s strong growth and economic achievements have reduced poverty drasticly to below 45 percent in 2010-11, from 57 percent in 2005-06. There has been a notable reduction in income inequality, with the poorest portion of the population seeing significant improvement in their standard of living and social welfare. As the third most competitive economy in Africa and after a devasting civil war, Rwanda is among the top African economies in the World Bank's Doing Business Indicators. It has now for quite a few years, taken the lead in the the Thousand Hill bold economic reform. 10 Likes

As we can see from the examples above. These small countries will be about the size of Biafra. On top of that we have Rivers with plenty of fish and we are already farming fish in Anambra and other Igbo States. We are not looking to leave Nigeria on bad terms, so I am sure we can utilize our neighbors docks when needed. Regardless, Igbo people are one of the most innovative and creative peope on earth. Our main focus will be on exporting and manufacturing, with service jobs thrown in. We should use our energy on planning for our future success and forget all these useless conversations about landlock and which tribes will join us. As for me I am okay with the 5 Igbo States, if others want to join so be it, Biafra will still be a success story like Botswana and Rwanda. 38 Likes 4 Shares |

Bolivia another landlocked country is now Latin America’s fastest growing economy. At a 5 percent growth rate it now outstrips once dominant but now stagnating regional competitors like Brazil and Peru. Furthermore Bolivia boasts some very impressive macrofundametals: its level of international reserves are the highest in all of Latin America, it has slashed its government debt, and its inflation rate stands at a respectable 5 percent. This accompanies a 307 percent increase in average income and a 25 percent reduction in the poverty rate since 2001. Bolivia’s first indigenous leader, Evo Morales’s presidency has shuned World Bank and Paris Club loans, and has given the poor a new found sense of pride. Eva Morales has refuse to cooperate in the US war on drugs all these in combination with a banking system flush with savings and low debt has been key to the bursting on to the scene of small enterprises run by indigenous entrepreneurs who have successfully leveraged their culture and trading channels to climb their way into the burgeoning middle class. 8 Likes

Andorra is Europes tourism, retail sales, destination and accounts for more than three-quarters of the GDP. This is another land locked country that thought outside the box on how to become a well-to do ecnomy without a sea port. 13 Likes 1 Share

NOBODYY: ^^^That's what some are hoping will happen when Biafra becomes a reality! They hope these 'enemies' will be able to frustrate the newly emerged nation so it doesn't overtake what's left of Nigeria economically! Even when Ndigbo leave them, they'll still be looking for ways to sabotage our interests.....in keeping with the script that says Ndigbo should never be allowed to surpass them economically and show them up for the deadweight they actually are! By the way, care to mention just who these enemies will be? 40 Likes 2 Shares |

Every single one of those country has unique geographical, demographical, historical or cultural selling point. Switzerland and Luxembourg are simply extentions of Germany,France. They enjoy and share in the goodwill of their parent countries in much the same way the Anglo countries US,Canada,Australia,United Kingdom and new Zealand share their success and economic bounty. Those countries can be regarded as manaco with presidents. Botswana is blessed with ridiculous numbers and variety of wildlife. That is before you consider her proximity to south Africa which she has been able to leverage as a laid back sanctuary for people who want to escape the bustle of south Africa Ethiopia is a centre of civilisation. 5 Likes |

oduastates: Yes they do. Biafra does as well. I envision building a resort town around the Ogbunike ancient cave temple of Arochukwu in Abia. The Ogbunike caves have attractive waterfall as well as ancient historical value, because this is where the slave trade started in Igboland. Anambra can be transformed into the shopping and retail desitnation for Africa. As well as expanding the already vibrant manufacturing industry. The possiblites are endless! All it takes is careful planning and execution. We are not expecting mind boggling results overnight. We will welcome are neighbors from Nigeria to come in and enjoy life as well at the shopping destination in Agula Lake, the constrution of a 5 star hotel is almost finished. Trust me it will be a win win situation. 13 Likes

Same would repeat itself! By the way, those countries mentioned are not inside another country like biafra would be! The only country that could be compared to your phantom biafra is Lesotho, a country inside South Africa! 7 Likes 1 Share |

Kagawa10: The last time, you had USSR, Britain and Egypt supplying you unlimited amount of weapons, yet for every one Biafran soldier that died in battle, 6 Arewa-Oduanistanis were killed, last time around you couldn't win by conventional means, so you resorted to unconventional means. I have news for you, if you are still itching for Biafran blood to spill, be rest assured that the world is in the ICT age, you wouldn't get unlimited supply of weapon from Britain nor USSR support now, your starvation policy will not be tolerated by the world in this ICT age, your Arab partners would rather supply weapons to Boko haram to establish an Islamic Sharia state in NE, NC, NW and SW, while you were busy fighting Biafrans and left your territories and people defenseless. Furthermore, you have next to nothing to offer the world powers to fight your battle for you, and unlike in 60's Africa have another giant in form of South Africa, so you are not going to get AU queuing behind you like you did in 60's, those countries hate you and would gladly see to your destruction. You are currently financially too broke to finance a Two pronged war in NE and Biafra. So, while you stay in your neck of woods full of thirst for Biafran blood like demons you are, I would advise you to check your cards well, and see that the dynamics that gave you the advantage in 60's had all changed and non Of them is in your favour. Be advised. God bless Biafra! Death to those who wish harm to Biafra and Biafrans. Peace to men of Goodwill and lovers of wisdom. 54 Likes 8 Shares |
