how will call those music crap? People like u don't encourage good artist with sensible lyrics
nah don't get me wrong, am actually not referring to ASA and ppl like her (they are trying their best) am talking about the Nigerian music industry in general.
even ASA, DAREY & TIMI don't use African themes in their songs everytime. .... compare their songs to those of FELA, KSA and some musicians from other parts of Africa that uses African themes and rhythm and language.

you must not sound foreign to do good music with sensible lyrics, an artiste like Simi would probably get a nomination before Timi
timi can't change himself, if u into music u Wil understand some voice type suit certain music better, just like me give me a local artist track to do a cover I will do it but it won't express my vocals to it best. Maybe that's timi 's problem. Same with darey he is at the best when he sings with foreign voice so dats it bro,. But to me iyawo mi and wish me well were dope

abi na.. Angelique Kidjo is an African singer, she won the "Best World Music Album Award" for ‘Eve’, at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards..
though I don't see a reason why all music coming from outside American shores are grouped ‘World Music’.

maybe if other categories are open to everyone, we might have many Nigerians/Africans as nominees.

I think the first thing would be for African musicians to stop copying or trying to be like their foreign counterparts and try to develop their own stuff. if you want to be an African singer, do your thing in an African manner..
copying those ppl is a way of saying we don't have our own identity and they are better than us (off which their own music industry is full of ppl without talents too)...

Timi and Kiss Daniel have similar nasally tones to their voices, don't see why he can't go a little afro with that voice.

Yes, both songs are nice, my favorite track from him is Great Nation though, I'm a big fan of Timi, I just state facts by saying that no African artiste can get a Grammy nomination without having African songs with African rhythm.....you don't need to have a voice for that eg The Kuti family
