Banning Biafra threads on Nairaland will be a big blow to the agitators, Nairaland and radio Biafra used to be the biggest media for promoting the idea, i always knew it is a matter of time before the authorities took note of the trend and threaten the owner of the forum to put a stop to the agenda. However i still believe that every group has a a right to seek self determination, as far as it is done with civility and in an atmosphere devoid of violence 4 Likes |

Nobody send seun to put Biafra topic on front page and nairaland politics. Seun decide one day to do that and now he is deiciding against that after APC threat on social media. Truth is Biafra goes on, If Radio Biafra launch a forum with their followers on twitter, it will be an instant hit. Seun has just done IPOB a big favour. Nairaland should discuss Buhari and forget all Biafra activities. I support this. 5 Likes |

According to Wole Soyinka, Biafra cannot b defeated. What our leaders should do is try to understand them and ask what some of them that are willing to stay, the few things that are making them choose so.. improve in it and try solve things amicably. If we are able to stop the shout now, it'll remain in the heart of many, even unborn. We don't wanna c them away!!! WE ARE NIGERIA... ONE WE STAND 1 Like |

Seun:I'm very disaapointed in you seun, are you the nairalanders, did you conduct opinion polls to get people's opinion as well. This is exactly what our leaders are doing by imposing unnecesaary rules that trample on our individual right and here you are the so called youth championing same dictatorial cause. 12 Likes |

Allosaurus: Stop the ignorance spree... Stop equating Biafra to Odua and Arewa... Ohaneze is the equivalent of these sociocultural institutions. Biafra is an ideology that wants sovereignty. The aforementioned sociocultural groups are just to protect and promote the interest of their kinsmen. Even Ohaneze came out to debunk Biafra... Get your mind right mate. NAIRALAND is NIGERIAN. anything that is not for the benefit of Nigeria should be crushed and expunged from it. Capisce? 6 Likes |

Kachisbarbie:this is hypocrisy. I guess Seun may be among those bloggers that went to Abuja to protest the attempt passage of social media bill by the house. Why stop people from expressing thier feelings or right to live among other tribes. Just like what Soyinka said, open a thread that would sought the opinions of the southeasterners rather than trying to gag a message that has gone world over. 3 Likes |

Seun I expect you to be wiser than this. You call nairaland a forum yet you want people to sensor what they say about such important issue like this one you are banning. Such a topic with strong historical informations and lessons. Firstly, most people will simply think you are a tribalist, being that you are of a different ethnic group (a group which by the way always make hate comments on the supposed Biafran on this same forum). People will also wonder why you haven't outrightly come up wit a post like this one to ban hate speeches between ethnic groups on this forum. Mind you I know you may really have the intention of only fostering unity but this is a very wrong move to make towards that. If a particular group of persons believe that they should not be part of a country then I think this is even the right place to express themselves better as far as social media is concerned. If we don't have democracy on this platform then what exactly is this site for?? 11 Likes |
Re: Nairaland Says No To Secessionists by Holyman3(m): 2:35pm On Dec 10, 2015 |
What happens to Any topic about Biafra here? Do we all shout "No Biafra" when there is a post about Biafra here? Or do we shut up while anti Biafra squad spews hatred and curses against them? If you dont want any negative or positive comments about Biafra, just dont allow the topics here. Its that easy. The moment anybody shouts "God Punish Biafra" Someone is surely going to return that favour. 2 Likes |

[quote author=warrior01 post=40872439]You go ban tire na. So what happens to freedom of expression and beliefs? So Yorubas are free to aspire and promote their Odua beliefs and Hausas, Arewa but Igbos of course are to be banned to talk or aspire for their beliefs in Biafra. Highly disappointed in you Seun. What stops you from coming up with a superior argument why they should remain in Nigeria? Why are you so scared to discuss Biafra? Must we all have the same line of thoughts or intellectual discourse? I reject being or tagged a zombie where a fellow man will dictate what I discuss.[/qu I guess he attended the last meeting with lai Mohammed were he shared them brown envelopes any attempt to stop us will lead to massive exodus from nairaland and u know what that means to your business. Don't tell us that u are anti Igbo's cos I can smell that from what you just wrote. Ban me and I will do fare well to naira land. 4 Likes 2 Shares |
