Seun:
Fellow Nairalanders,

Nairaland loves Igbos and Niger Deltans very much. The thought of being separated from them for any reason is unbearable to us, so we have decided that we will reject any attempt by anyone to use Nairaland to promote the idea of removing Igbos and Niger Deltans from Nigeria.

We have updated rule 9 of Nairaland to reflect this decision. It now says:

I'd like to urge all Nairaland members to respect and obey rule 9. Mynd44 is in charge of enforcing it. If you break this rule, you'll be banned.

Thanks,
Seun (Founder Of Nairaland).

Good move Seun.

Am glad you took the great path of honour to do this in reponse to some of our concerns, as the topic I posted just last month. https://www.nairaland.com/2751983/seun-pls-cut-off-these.

Don't mind the critics bro. #WeStandForOneNigeria

Seun has brought this Biafra agitation to nairaland, thinking he is finding a solution.
Would a thinking man do this?
Someone please help Seun define what "critical thinking is".

Seun is a pure Bastard..Ban me!!!!!!
Foolishness is when a junk journalist dished out lie and you swallow it hook and sinker. The mantra now is that Nnamdi Kanu want to buy weapons but have not bought them so kill him. Boko Haram have been decimating Nigerians on daily basis and you foolish guys are keeping quite. Buhari even called them my misguided brothers and he cannot stop them. Who is arming boko haram? Are they from outer space? Nigeria's intelligence community knows those behind boko haram but choose to look the other way. God is hardening the heart of Buhari same way He hardened the heart of Pharaoh and used him to showcase His enormous power. Biafra shall be free.

SMH!!
no tribalism here. everyone knew NAIJARYDERS was more popular than nairaland around 2005 - 2006. everybody went there. all the celebs you see today in naija were part of the forum. tony payne, i spoke to banky w a few times on the forum, ikechukwu was on the forum, and the nigerian celeb who died was on the forum everyday-her name is zara. this was the nairaland of 2005. NAIJARYDERS. if that igbo boy had kept that site going he would have been richer than linda ikeji today. the site was the most popular in nigeria in 2005. but i dont think he was making money yet from it. so he abandoned it.

mark has biafra agitations and several other national and international agitations on Facebook, infact there are nothing less than 50,000 biafra groups and Facebook pages on Facebook. When Texas citizens were agitating to secede after Obama won 2nd tenure, mark didn't crack down on them... Free speech must be respected that's what social media is all about but trust black man seun to be shamelessly partisan.. smh
the people of Texas didn't go about it the way you guys on Nairaland are going about it.

By the way I fully support the creation of a Biafran State undecided. You guys should just do things with common sense, not insulting and inciting here and there. Doesn't make sense.

funny thing is that the igbos had a site that was rivalling nairaland in popularity around 2005 - 2006. in fact it was more popular. i used to visit the site. very addictive. it was owned by an igbo guy based in new york. i forget his name now. he was a programmer. the site was called NAIJARYDERS. but you know like anything that is china made, anything that is igbo made dont last lol. he probably didnt have the foresight seun has by holding onto the site when money was not yet coming in. you know our boys from the east like the cash quick and fast. but i am telling you the site was more popular than nairaland. on a thread you may get like 200 people or more. well the igbo guy just abandon the site and and it folded.

You just said it all. He sent that message as if he was under pressure and from his message there is clear discrimination. He needs a PR or improve his communication ethics
Spicygal:

@Seun

Let me add that you should have employed a PR specialist to advice you on this. Your tittle should appear neutral even if you had something else in mind.

It shouldn't have been addressed to any specific tribe or group. It should have simply said,

Dear Nairalanders,

Nairaland is devoted to promoting Nigeria as a single indivisible entity. As such we do not subscribe to being used to promote any secessionist theory or goal.

To this end all posts that promote division or session in whatever form will no longer be allowed on Nairaland, as it goes against our values. This new rule will therefore affect all calls for Biafra, Oodua Republic, Niger Delta Republic, Arewa Republic etc

Violation of this new rule will attract an automatic ban.

Thank you for understanding and I hope your stay on Nairaland continues to be fun, engaging and insightful.

God Bless Nairaland, God Bless Nigeria.

Wishing the best of the Season and a wonderful 2016.

Seun this is totally wrong and shameful! This is tantamount to the so called social media law...u just have to get ready to ban every minute of your life because Biafran agitation is more than what you see on the media neither is it APC or PDP. A section of Nigerians feel maltreated, u should tell them why it's wrong to feel that way and why they should believe in Nigerian dream. No one has ever achieved anything by threatening others. Thank you.

It's quite sad that Seun will take such hard-core position. I feel hes being threatened or induced. Either way, he's being compromised and I'll most likely stop commenting here or perhaps deactivate my account all together. I believe there are other more welcoming and pro-biafran/Igbo sites to spend my time.

You go ban tire na. So what happens to freedom of expression and beliefs? So Yorubas are free to aspire and promote their Odua beliefs and Hausas, Arewa but Igbos of course are to be banned to talk or aspire for their beliefs in Biafra. Highly disappointed in you Seun.

What stops you from coming up with a superior argument why they should remain in Nigeria? Why are you so scared to discuss Biafra? Must we all have the same line of thoughts or intellectual discourse? I reject being or tagged a zombie where a fellow man will dictate what I discuss.
