The Igbo people have a right to self determination as long as its done peacefully. Seun you are wrong on this one.
Then what's stopping them from peacefully creating their Biafraland? Don't you get it? We acknowledged your right to peaceful blah blah but this is a forum for Nigerians...Or pro-Nigeria if i may add. You can create your forum and peacefully seek for your blah blah.

Once an idea has taken hold you cannot destroy that idea.

You may destroy the people, the carriers of that idea, yes this is known but ultimately it's not the end of the story. Don't go around saying the sovereignty of this nation is indivisible - Wole Soyinka (2015)

Fellow Nairalanders,

Nairaland loves Igbos and Niger Deltans very much. The thought of being separated from them for any reason is unbearable to us, so we have decided that we will reject any attempt by anyone to use Nairaland to promote the idea of removing Igbos and Niger Deltans from Nigeria.

We have updated rule 9 of Nairaland to reflect this decision. It now says:

I'd like to urge all Nairaland members to respect and obey rule 9. Mynd44 is in charge of enforcing it. If you break this rule, you'll be banned.
@suen can you please make this correction. Create rule 10 and update the rule. I am in support of your decision but putting the rule with scams is what I didn't support.

Thanks,
Seun (Founder Of Nairaland).

Nigerians are only depicting their weaknesses to survival without the Ibos, by the way they have become defiant to any suggestion liberating the God's own people from anong their midst. But the information I have for them is this. The Egyptians and Phero could not stop the Isrealites when God said it is time for freedom. We know that we are not one. So no matter how you want to force us together, we always realise who we are.

When people see a spade and call it hand trowel. Since when do people stop expressing "ideas" on social media/forum? I expect people like you to know better. I'm not asking you to like, want or favour Biafra and her cause, but the truth is always very glaring there for all of us to see, but we always choose to look away.

This seun of a guy is showing what a dictator he is, or he's been bought over, or warned, or all of the above. He has NO RIGHT to trample on people's right to freedom of speech/expression. It's not done. Not in this century. And on a social network again? Oh, God! Someone should wake me up when this iguesss all over. undecided

And just so you know... He doesn't own Nairaland anymore. We all do.

@Seun, You"re very wrong on this one. Why not apply wisdom and allow sleeping dogs lie by staying mute as no one demanded for your opinion. I maen, the Social Media is for the Jets and on it we Learn, Re-Learn and Un-Learn. Everyone has a right to freedom of expression. Do you know your take on this can drown your site!. I'm not a Biafran but I'm disappointed in you for this.

I'm not a Biafra fanatic, but I'm an advocate of justice and fairness.

With this kinda shallow, unrealistic and sentimental move by the so called "Founder of Nairaland", the very aim of social media - or forum, whatever you choose to call it - which is to freely have a say without fear and or favour, is defeated. With this kinda platform, people get their views across. In fact, I could say that since almost everything had been taken from us, the youths embraced social media, making it a strong medium through which they express themselves.

This action by you, Seun, is a rape on justice, fairness, and in fact, democracy. If you come out for Presidency, I won't vote for you! It's not your place to tell us what to and what not to believe in and discuss.

All Igbos are not in support of Biafra (maybe not yet), but just so you know... If all of them hate and turn on you, and if they unanimously boycott Nairaland...YOUR NAIRALAND, you're going to be doomed. For life.

A little advice, Mr. Founder: You should be neutral here. Not taking sides. At least, not yet. For the sake of your career - Nairaland. That's one silly thing about us, Africans. Excessive show of power! You don't get to see the founders of Facebook, Whatsapp, etc making very useless rules and shoving it to people's faces all the time. Any attempt to express yourself lands you a ban. What kind of autocratic forum is this?! You don't just wake up and make decisions about us (this your decision - more like a presidential decree - could have been subtly thrown out to the floor for a more democratic debate). We've got to have a say here; this is the 21st century, for fuccks sake! And if you want to make some steady progress, you've got to stop thinking to yourself all the time that you're The Founder of Nairaland . We know that already, and we get it. Take a chill pill. You're NOTHING without us. undecided

And, uh...my (lengthy) ban, please

Dear Igbos/Biafrans and others affected by Seun's decision, there is no need to argue or be pained as clearly that's what Seun and his advisers want, what you need to do is search for other forums that can accommodate us and our views.

Seun has exercised his right as 'owner' we can quietly exercise our rights as users.

There are several pro-Igbo/Biafran forums. Some of them may be asleep, we just have to wake them up.

Biafra is an idea that have survived many obstacles, Seun's misguided or induced ban will not stop Biafra.

Water must find it's level.

Dear friends, comrade, fellow Biafrans, do not get mad, get even! Let's be watery...
