Angola has reportedly declared Islam illegal and ordered for all of the country’s mosques to be closed down. Minister of culture Rosa Cruz e Silva said that mosques in the largely Christian country would be closed until further notice. She described Islam as a ‘sect’ that would be banned as counter to Angolan customs and culture. There are unconfirmed reports that mosques across the African country are being destroyed, according to the International Business Times. President Jose Edurado dos Santos reportedly told the Osun Defence daily: ‘This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country.’ Along with Islam, which is a religion associated with less than 1 per cent of the population of 19 million, 194 other ‘sects’ have been banned in the nation, where more than half the population is Christian. http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/angola-bans-islam-and-shuts-down-all-mosques-across-the-country |

I can't blame them completely. In some Muslim countries too Christianity is forbidden. However banning Islam isn't a lasting solution to the problem. Religions are not written on people's foreheads. The fanatics can still live among you. |

Religion is not the problem but the individuals practising the religion are the problems... 1 Like |

This is stale news but it's still a very good development all the same. Countries need to start taking proactive measures to protect themselves from islamic terrorism. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Annunaki:Nigeria still has a long way to go because I don't understand a fully-grown man can say that taking someone's religious freedom away is a good thing. Ok; let's look at it this way, christianity caused the Dark Ages, the Spanish Inquisition. The whites used christianity to endorse slavery, the Dutch Reformative church used it to justify apartheid, Adolf Hitler, the man responsible for the death of 1.6 million Jews (just the jewish casualties) in WWII was christian. Shouldn't we have banned christianity a long time ago then? 1 Like |

CoolUsername: Yet hypocrites like you won't bat an eye lid when saudi arabia and other islamic countries inhibit the religious freedom of others. This is not about religious freedom but about protect one's self from evil islamic terrorists and one sure way of doing this is stopping the propagation of islam in a country. I don't blame angola at all I am just surprised that a lot more countries have not followed suit. Islam as a religion has no place in the civilised world. |

CoolUsername: That aside not one single one of the atrocities you listed above was carried out based on christian teachings if not I challenge you show us any where the in bible Jesus or his apostles told their followers to commit acts of terror like mohamed taught his followers. |

CoolUsername: If you think some religions should not be banned, then every religioun should have an approved curriculum and licensed preachers. To avoid a sitation where Islam will denounce Boko haram and Isis, and Christianity will denounce evil and fraudulaent acts commited by her pastors |

News on countries banning Islam will always make a headline to the excitement of those who are ignorant of its teachings. This is injustice to Islam and all through Muslims should brace up to challenge this illegality. Nigerian gov't should brace up to define what is going to be the sanctions for any country who infringed upon the right of any Nigerian on a single account of being a Muslim just as we resisted the wicked attempt to foist thier culture ( being turn to civilization) on homosexuality on us. |
