I quite agree with what you said.

In my first place of teaching after NYSC, I stumbled on a teacher's application letter. Mehn, he mentioned about 6 subjects he could teach.
He suffered like...... hum. If any teacher leaves, he would be ask to teach the subject pending on the time they get a new teacher.

For the salary, one must start somewhere. I know #20k is small but those in mainland have no choice Even if one gets a job that pays well but far from his house , how will he cope?

A person that lives in Shibiri and gets a job @ Lekki without accommodation will not be able to cope.

Do you know how many teachers left Pinefield schools Lekki because she told them no more accommodation.?

A friend of my friend got a job at Satellite and was paid #35k. In a month, she spends like #10k for t.fare. I learnt she is not resuming with them because of the wahala. Volks and barracks hold up both morning and evening

Good day everyone, others have being sharing their testimonies, is high time I shared mine. So much thanks to God and this thread. Be4 I finish serving ws looking for a job I will easily get and do I notice I had passion for teaching so I cm to this thread n followed up evry advice and sugestion given pased out July ds year and started sendn cvs out to schools from then till now had jst 4 interviews the last was a big school and because have being discourage in the first 3 where I came here to pour my mind and some nairalander thought I was a male the last one didn't put so much effort just went and d pay was the best has a starter without B ed or postgraduate in education. I got d job. Am so happy and grateful to God for yu all that person that posted about those that are unemployed should try teaching job God bless you and those that talked about not giving up and being bold and confident it realy works even when your not sure of a answer to a question am saying too much already Thank you all n God bless.

You may have to commit to some serious legwork. The few I know include Yabatech staff school at Yabatech staff quarters,Joint heirs School at Fola Agoro Kolex bus stop,Flourishingland school around church bus stop in Shomolu,Toria School at Unilag junction on Herbert Macaulay (walking distance from Yabatech)

I have really benefitted immensely from everyone's direct and indirect experiential contribution on this thread.

since most schools are on the verge of vacating, i guess this is the right to visit every school in your area in search of a teaching job

On monday, i have intentions of visiting EVERY secondary school in Surulere to submit my CV and application. On Tuesday, i head on to Satellite town and on wednesday will be Festac.

Searching for a job is a job itself in which every avenue must be explored and every stone unturned. In the middle of this term i visited 12 schools in festac and they all advised me to check back before vacation.

if you know of any good school in those environs, please let me know

I am beginning to love the teaching job because of the opportunity and time it affords to touch lives and make personal development respectively.

What i missed all the while i was going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never had a job as demanding as this. Please for all the mails i ignored, i have my reasons. make una no vex, one fella like that nearly cost me my job (if not for God and luck i for they jobless now). Hence my refusal to reply mails and mention my place of work and the salary scale to some people.

Many NL are not good at managing information which is key in this sector. I can only disclose my salary to you if I meet you in person that way I know who might spill the beans online but.....like an old man onece said, a secret is only known to you, if it get to another person (mum, dad, sister, brother, cousin or friends) it is no longer a secret. I am happy you were smart enough not to loose your job.
