Its my pleasure. Kindly note that the list here is just a guide. However, the letter of introduction could add extra boost to your credibility, especially if it is a reputable coy cos it shows that you have their consent, but if you are unable to get one, your employment letter should be just fine.

Pls I want u ask, when u got ur Dr's correspondence was the Dr's price included and also can u describe what ur hospital letter looks like. Mine bears the logo of La Palmas $ Del Sol Health Care with the hospital prices while the Dr's letter is from Dr Anthonio De La without any price quotation, so am a bit confused. I have asked doctoresparati staff Rodolfo and he said that's all I need that the embassy always calls them to verify. Pls help me clarify these issues cost don't want something to affect my chances of getting visa.

your 31 days booking will do for your visa interview,if they mention it just tell them that, thats was all you could do at that time and that you will extend the booking when you get there

Ok thanks

Welcome home firsttymum smiley. Maybe the two bags thing is a new development cos i came back last month and it was one bag for infant ( and to think I had two infants).

Welcome home firsttymum. I know exactly how you feel, reminds me of my own waka like a year ago. I also flew United with my momma, carried my 'personal item' and hand luggage, baby's breastpump bag and diaper bag, mumsi also carried her personal item and hand luggage. Before then, we had checked in two suitcases each, one suitcase for baby, the base of his car seat and then paid for one extra luggage. We checked in baby's car seat and stroller at the gate of the aircraft. I must say United dey try when it comes to luggage allowance sha only say 23kg is 23kg, no begging. Like you, I also had to pump inflight cos that was the only way I could feed my baby who was still exclusively on breastmilk at the time. I had the most severe form of breastfeeding impediments and was also averse to the whole pumping and storage of breastmilk. What helped was that I was given the bulkhead seat and my mum was with me so the whole return flight was just a constant cycle of pumping and feeding my lil one. All the same, I was soooooo glad and grateful to be home that I wasn't even mad when DH couldn't make it to the airport on time to get us, indeed there's no place like home.

Dear Shelly, ehugs to you and your LO. She'll continue to be the star she was created to be and continue to shine so bright, nothing can change that.

Hello house! Join me in thanking God for a safe delivery. Had my baby at West Houston Medical Center on 30th November and every night since then, I remember firsty's post, 'The vigilante is real' grin grin grin...especially if you are here alone and had to have a csection.

In all, I'm grateful to God for swift recovery and strength.

Phase 2; baby documentation, commences next week. Can't wait to get back home cry cheesy...

BTW, is there any one supplementing their baby's feed with formula milk? If yes, do you plan to buy some to Nigeria? Kindly advise.

Welcome home!!!
Can we say united's olicy on infant baggage is dicey, during my time, i called united before heading to the airport and they confirmed my baby is entitled to a bag. Only for me to get there and they started saying something else. I had to pay 200$ for the bag. Very annoying

firsttymum:
I came I saw and conquered... Hello Nigeria... grin

United is 2 bags for infant (for normal 10% of parents ticket charge U can call customer care to confirm)
Hubby 2 bags
Me 2 bags

I checked my ticket online when I saw 2 bags for infant I had to call United to b sure... And mehn d moment I was sure... Increased my diaper luggage.

U can check in a graco travel crib too it's part of the free stuff u can check In

Aside I and hubby's hand luggage we had breastpump and two diaper bag.

I pumped on the plane... When D lights were off... It's simple easy and sweet grin
I enjoyed my flight

@zoemummy congratulations on your bundle of joy.
With the formula I think it all depends on you and the choice of formula you started with (Gerber, enfamil, similac)

When I had my first I bought a lot (we started with similac) and my Sister kept sending till about 8 months then I had to start buying in ebaeno then it was 7500 for the big plastic and my son will finish it in 4 days. I then remembered my sister in law had advised me from her experience not to buy much food and switch him to NAN . I couldn't afford 7500 food for 4 days on my teacher's salary o.

Fast forward this year when I had madam, I bought a few plastics of similac (5) just for us to settle down, though she was mostly breastfed then switched to NAN. We are very healthy and happy.

So its up to you and your budget but remember dollar isn't even smiling at the moment.

Good luck.

@ Phema,
Thanks so much I have seen it, pls I need ur advice on something that has been bothering me. Am yet to be issued a visa and my appointment is on 14th Jan, I started the process late and will be due 3rd week of February. My worry is this, am using doctoresparati and when I was filling my application I hadn't gotten the Dr's letter as well as the hospital's price but I was in a haste to submit so I could get reasonable appointment for visa interview. As soon I enrolled with them I asked them what to fill as my US contact and organisation, so I was sent the contact of their director of admissions in the person of Rodolfo Gamez to use while I filled Doctoresparati as the organisation name. Along the line after I had submitted the form and gotten the date for interview, I paid for the Dr's personalised letter which I got along side the hospital's price list and I read on this thread that the contacts name should be the that of the Dr while the organisation is the hospital. Now am scared about that area, also the so called Dr's letter I got is exclusive of Dr's price. I have mailed them in my confusion to express myself they kept on reassuring me that that's all I need from them and that the embassy usually calls them to verify that I shouldn't worry. Now my question is how do I reconcile not having Dr's price list to support the estimate on my budget sheet and also the problem not adding the Dr s my contact. Please advice me wisely cos am scared

Yes I'm supplementing with similac. My baby accepts it well. Got some from Sams club that I shipped to Nig with the rest of my purchases.

Were you given any price breakdown by the hospital's financial counsellor? If yes, then that should do. The price breakdown must not come from the Dr personally. As long as the Doctor gives you a letter stating that he/she has accepted to render his services to you. Same with the hospital.

I also used Rodolfo's contact details as my contact person. That is not an issue at all.

Goodluck your interview.

I don't envy anyone about to travel now o! I hear USD is now 260 at the parallel market, Banks are now charging N240/$ for off shore withdrawals. ATM withdrawals limited to $150/day and POS transactions to $300/day. Mehn...This is getting really serious

Well the first mail from Melissa stated the price breakdown but not from hospital's financial counsellor, I even asked Rodolfo if I could print that out and go with it but he said no need. What do u think? Also I want to how it cost u to get baby's BC, SSN, US PASSPORT AND NAIJA PASSPORT/VISA as the case may be. Want to construct my own budget sheet cheesy

The letter is usually sent by either Rodolfo or Melissa and it always comes with the price breakdown. Yoivate supposed to print it out for the interview, attached with the Doctor' s personalized letter.

BC cost $24 per copy. I made 2 copies.
SSN was free.
US passport was $180 for expedited, I think.
Naija visa was $300 for overnight delivery.
