kaura5000: The europeans were busy exporting them like chickens. While their slaves were scattered all through hausa states, especially during the time of Muhammad Rumfa. It is very well known fact that it was the north that influenced Oyo to adopt a cavalry. And their horses were gotten from the North. |

MorrowCaligari: You core northern folks are known to not be very intellectual. .I expected you to not display this proudly. So you think a power that held many yoruba city-states plus nupeland, Borgu, All gbe-language speaking areas plus the Akyem Akans can be easily downplayed? What did Sokoto hold? HAUSA states that spoke the same language and dominated by one religion. Compare to what Oyo held together - people of different spiritual standards, Culture and language. ..Oyo was mighty enough to influence the language of its vassals ... what language did Sokoto influence? Sokoto infact used a foreign tongue - arabic. . Like a slave's camp or something Oyo traded with the Songhai and Malians 4 Likes |

macof: Now I know youre an idiott. The official language of the sokoto caliphate was hausa, mor.on, even the fulbes spoke hausa. But the script used for writing was a sort of Arabic script called ajami. The fact that you didn't know this, proves what I suspected, you're a bellend. As for us not being very intellectual, Loool!. Believe that at your own peril is all I have to say. |

Come on with it, im waiting....I have Oyo behind me I have Ife behind me, I have Egba nehind me, Ijebu is behind me, Ekiti is standing by, Ijesha is alive, Owo is alive, Okun is standing by, Eko is standing by, Offa is standing by, Ilorin is behind me.... Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by Nobody: 7:46pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
absoluteSuccess: Oooh shuut up! Don't be a whiny little b.itch, this is one argument you can't win. He visited the great African civilizations, he left you out for obvious reasons. No hard feelings mate. |
Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by OPCNAIRALAND: 7:48pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
absoluteSuccess: Lmao!! I wonder why they will not bring the accounts from those who visited Hausa states and Yoruba states....people like Livingstone, Landers? If any reference is worth narrating its that of these two who went everywhere and saw everything. Comparing.Hausa and Yoruba on basis of Africanus visit to Hausaland would belike sharing the impression of Beecroft in the coastal lands. It would be one sided. These illiterates have no appreciation for true comparatives.... OYO is superior to any Fulani state. In fact thr two, Fulani and Hausa are separate but individually or combined, Oyo is their father...anyday! 1 Like |

MorrowCaligari: You should discuss points backed with historical accounts. Stop attacking opc. You have lost, have you not? Fulani is a subperior to Yoruba. This pains you and having no points to countrr mine you are attacking the messenger. Ok, ill give you another opportunity. Bring your historical and Imperial throne to view lets inspect it against that of Oyo. Leave personal attack out of it. |

MorrowCaligari: Arabs used your lands for slave raids and slave labour and wiped all traces of your culture. Yoruba has Christianity and Islam, introduced from foreign lands. Yoruba had also imposed and dominated other lands and cultures with its Ifa religion. Beside practicing what others want you to worship, Christianity and Islam.....tell me where your own indigeneous worship is. Tell me where your indigenous worship has dominated others anywhere in the world. Apparently you dont know that you are slaves. I will help educate you. 4 Likes |

MorrowCaligari: Ogbeni you got nothing to defend yourself. There's no caliphate that doesn't place high importance on arabic. Sokoto surely had hausa as its official language but arabic was not lagging behind... of course, when islam was the very reason the caliphate was established |

We yorubas, alongside Songhai sold them BTW Ur Case is worse than physical slavery, ur people are in mental slavery...to the arabs Oh I forgot, arabs had u lot as physical slaves too 2 Likes |

Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by Nobody: 8:23pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
macof: Says someone who comes from the most enslaved race in the world. If a dna test shows that 80-85 % of slaves in the US are either Igbo or Yoruba, my guess is yoruba's outnumber Igbos, but where are the Hausas you claimed to sell? Looool! You are a clown! Songhais never took hausa slaves btw, but the hausas states were one of the major exporters of slaves back then, so you and your inferior minions must have suffered, it's nothing to be proud of, but that's just the truth. We chained your people, and sold them like we'd sell cows or horses, cause back then to us, there's no difference. |

Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by Nobody: 8:29pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
OPCNAIRALAND: Add heavy corruption and taxes to any civilization, same thing always happens. btw, if you guys were so organised, why did the british feel the need to stay on your heads like sheep, while the they imposed indirect rule on the hausas because they found them organised and civilized with a functioning administration. Every stereotypical depiction of the hated black man today hails from you. |
Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by absoluteSuccess: 8:30pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
OPCNAIRALAND: LMAO, if Oyo have not fallen at that time, these folks won't have an empire. Every great civilization always meets their great destruction in the hands of barbarians as would the roman empire and Byzantines. they needed the craft of crusades, death, carnage and faith to survive. I don't know what Leo Africanus will say that more recent explorers cannot. Except the Hausa empire was great as we move back in time and shrinks to the future as time tapes. |
Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by Nobody: 8:31pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
macof: he didnt visit the sokoto caliphate, he visited the hausa states. back when they were busy bullying each other. and why isnt it an african civilization? |
Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by OPCNAIRALAND: 8:31pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
macof: Lmao... Macof, you are badt guy! If we transpose location and put Yoruba in North and Fulani in South and dial back the hands of time to Imperial Africa, Fulani could not have done in Brazil, Cuba, US, Puerto Rico, Venezuela...and others what Yoruba has achieved there in terms of revolution and implanting of culture. On the other hand, Yoruba captured in North and sold off as Fulanis and Hausa were sold off to Arabia would have succeeded in supplanting Ifa. Many Arabs today would be worshipping Sango, Ogun and Oya. There is no sea up there so they probably will not accept Olokun....but Obatala would definitely have shrines in Mecca. Yoruba people, raise your head up, you are Great people and Im proud to be one of you!! 5 Likes |
Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by Nobody: 8:35pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
OPCNAIRALAND: Thats why your yoruba brothers in Kwara hate to be associated with you. thats why you were the easiest people to enslave, maybe its because you were weak, or just utter buffoonery. thats why until date, you just dont understand how these things are done. lok at you, proud that your people have been plummeted and sold all over the globe....smh. btw, arabs never enslaved any hausas, hausas you find in saudi today migrated there, no records of any such events taking place. |
Re: Lies About Oyo Empire by OPCNAIRALAND: 8:36pm On Dec 13, 2015 |
MorrowCaligari: There are many things you dont know about your culture. It proves my point that your enslavement was total! Nothing was left of your culture. You need to go and ask your elders about their mythical Queen and the python and what it means in Daura antiquity. Instead of reading Arabic book that preaches jihad and 73 virgins everyday, start reading books written to teach you your historical past. There are no virgins waiting for you in heaven. They arr all here on earth. 1 Like |
