My advice to anyone coming to North Cyprus to school , make sure you have funds for study and accommodation, it's a beautiful island but jobs are not easy to get here compared to countries like canada and U.S.A. The truth is the grass is greener only where you sprinkle water, in other words it could be greener if you work hard and also focus on studies.speaking Turkish is an advantage to getting jobs here but that's doesn't mean if you don't speak Turkish you wount get jobs, I know people who are working , it's about you bending your self a little , most people crowd the restaurant sector for jobs and the truth is they can't take everyone, I have adviced someone in the past to work in a shop that repairs A.C and he was getting paid, his salary 1300tl a month if he works full time, that's 90k naira , yes it's not enough to cover all you expenses but it will go a long way as long as your life style is not flashy.
There are opportunities if we think out of the box, there are thousands of male blacks here and they cut their hair every week for for 20 to 30tl ( 1400 - 2100 naira ) the craziest thing is that there are very few whites who know how to cut black mans hair especial in Lefkosia.
I have been on queue of 12 waiting in turn just to cut my hair, learning how to cut hair in Nigeria is like 2weeks, same thing goes for females , I am not here to give people false hope or anything , but the bitter truth is that life is not easy anywhere and most importantly life is all about choices and taking calculated risk.. I know people who where nothing in Nigerian and they will tell you that they are grateful to God for coming here, the thing is if you make it here and finish your studies you have a lot to gain.
Your journey does not end here, people I know have left here for the USA,Canada and other European countries for master and Ph.D.
I am not trying to sugar coat anything but the truth is bitter, nothing is easy in this world.
It's always safer to have sponsor to back you to study here I don't dispute that. If you have a plan and North Cyprus fits into it then go for it.
I am grateful to God a million times that i left Nigeria. I am only speaking for my self. I hope this message helps someone. Thank you

Good pm mr wip7,please do u know one mr john odoh?he said his office is@suite sf 006,transpharm,plaza,opp jabi park by:THIS DAY NEWS PAPER jabi,abuja..according to the so caled agent he said his a representative of CIU..his company name is:mezic global enterprises,he claims he know's you,he cals himself a rep of CIU yet his asking students for 100k for processing in any school in north.

Well done ma. I dont know anybody in Nigeria neither have I been to Nigeria in over 8yrs. Anybody can claim to know anybody, What

Presh18:
His been posting this shit on facebook, inocent people are about to fall victim's,he isn't telling them what they need to know about cyprus,if they can work and when is their entries to university,i then told him that am working with rep in north especial those working in emu just to get info from him,he said if i bring people for him he wil be giving me 20k out of 100k,he tried spoiling your image, teling me you take bribe too which i told him to vist this thread in nairaland and see those u have helped without taking money from them

Well done ma. I dont know anybody in Nigeria and am not associated with any agents. Anybody can claim to know anybody, also is poor people that takes bribe. He can advertise his services on Facebook but he cant advertise it on this thread. If he charges people 100k, I only blame those that handed over the money to him cos he did not collect the money by pointing gun towards his clients. They freely gave him the money for the services he claims to offer to them.

Best wishes!

If you dont have any deficiency courses to take, your total fees will be approximately 5000-5100USD for whole program (inclusive of your scholarship). To be issued confirmation letter for visa purpose, you must deposit at least 4000USD out of the above amount into the university bank account. You can pay the rest before the end of your program.

Best wishes!

BANKS TO STOP USE OF ATM ABROAD
Deposit Money Banks have commenced a process to stop all customers from using their payment cards, popularly known as Automated Teller Machine cards, for dollar-denominated transactions when they travel abroad with effect from January 1, 2016.
SUNDAY PUNCH’s investigation also revealed the banks would not allow their customers to use naira-denominated ATM cards locally for transactions denominated in forex.
This means bank customers will not be able to use their cards to buy products from foreign e-commerce sites like e-bay and amazon.com in which payments are made in forex.
The development follows the lingering scarcity of foreign exchange, especially the dollar, to settle obligations arising from customers’ use of the ATM cards for forex-denominated transactions.
Already, Standard Chartered Bank has notified its customers that from January 1, 2016, they will not be able to use their naira-denominated ATM cards for transactions that are denominated in foreign currencies, either locally or when they travel abroad.
In a notice to its customers, Standard Chartered said, “This is to notify you that from January 1, 2016, your naira card will no longer be enabled for international use. This is as a result of the limited foreign exchange supply in the financial market.”

If this will really hold then the best option will be direst transfer from Nigeria to your account in TRNC or via western union

It as come to our notice that some people in thia forum are into luring new student in bringing drugs to the island. When coming to Cyprus pls beware of people who will ask you to help them bring in some medications. They are using new comer to bring in illegal drugs to the island in the name of medication. If you are the caught with illegal drugs, the consequence is grevious. A word is enough for the wise. You are been warned.

I had to address this issue and I don't think it's true , I got an email from my Nigerian bank stating the new limits per month via withdrawing with ATM or transactions with POS, one thing I know is if this was true anyone with a Nigerian bank account that receives email messages from their bank would have gotten this message just like we all did with the BVN , besides baning the use of master card or Visa card is impossible and its against banking policies the only thing .the only issue that came with the mail was the limit and the fact that it clearly stated withdraw in the currency of your location. You guys don't have to panic, there will be no ban on ATM cards.
