That is the one I have idea of. Gtbank, UBA, FCMB, UNION. Don't risk any of those bank.... Run from them

wich kin mistake? If they do that halla them... Dy have done it 2 me several times and refunded me every kobo, call their cc and disturb them. In refunds the exact amount debited is returned irrespective of naira fall or rise.

i did a trasaction on aliexpress using my gtbank mastercard last week. I was charged 221...i cancelled the order and got refunded 239 yesterday. ..i made over 5000 on that without sending a single mail of complaint.

They even add for you sometimes. i was debited at 220 last month but refunded at 235 today #Godwin!!!

There's something fishy about the Exchange rates stuff. I bought two items on Amazon.com on Monday precisely with my Stanbic Mastercard. Exchange rate was still #235 per dollar as at then. Using amazon currency converter, their exchange rate was #208.72593.
Note: They usually show you the equivalent amount you will be charged in your local currency.

But knowing Nigerian banks & what they are known for, I expected i will be charged #235. I paid for my order that afternoon & was awaiting Stanbic's alert which usually comes d next day.
Fortunately for me, I logged into my Stanbic Mobile Banking app same night & discovered I still had some change of over 4k+ after paying for the first item coz I had already concluded I will be billed at #235. That prompted me to buy the 2nd item at same #208 per dollar rate

Summary of the whole thing is I was billed at Amazon's rate of #208.72593 per dollar for the both transactions I paid for.

This then made me to conclude that our Nigerian banks are not being sincere at all . They are the ones benefitting immensely from this high dollar rate.
Why should they be selling at BDC rate?
And If they prefer to sell at BDC rate, then they should also pay people who are making withdrawals from their domiciliary account at same BDC rate. This double standard is not right at all.

I will be opening a thread with pictures of the transaction once I'm less busy because this is broad daylight robbery from our banks.

Nigerian banks are just milking the current situation and smiling.
The only alternative via Western Union, but when you get there even if first on the line, they already tell you the are sold out of funds to transfer abroad.
