Actually, I would have preferred Obafemi-martins over Ighalo because Martins is more experienced and has played at the highest level. I hope he will go on loan to the Premiership as speculated to prove doubters wrong.

According to a very reliable source in the football house, the federation wanted Siasia to play a friendly match with Qatar in January but he rejected the proposal and maintained that he can only open his camp in February.

“Siasia said he needed time to rest after the U-23 AFCON in Senegal and that has made it difficult for the team to play a friendly match with Qatar in January,” the source revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has lined up a series of friendly matches for the team ahead of the Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.

Siasia was close to winning the Olympic Games in 2008 in Beijing but lost to 1-0 to Argentina in the final to settle down for a silver medal.

Why Ajayi who was a starter in his Club was just missing goals, as if he was an academy player.

I feel its too early to tag them bench warmers, knowing fully well that they just signed contracts with their new Clubs. So you see they just need some time to blend and before you know, they will begin to shine for their Clubs.

I think that it is the best words to say to those(bench warmers) expecting to get automatic place in the Olympics squad at the expense of players who are playing regularly for their teams.

The defence(every department), the attack(Wingers and strikers) and the Midfield. This is based on the current team that won the under 23 African youth championship.

Therefore, I think we need an over aged striker and an experienced midfielder. And they must be inform prior to the Olympics.

We need Iheanacho in that team. Though I am nt sure if he will get a starting place. August 2016 is still far. He might get more regular time in City and also make more improvements. Another player can still step-up before then and relegate Iheanacho to the Olympic team bench. I am sure u know that Sokari and Etebo play similar roles to Iheanacho especially if it is a 4-5-1 formation. By and large we still need Iheanacho in the team; forget ManCity. U are a Nigerian before being a ManCity fan.

If Iheanacho is as good as you guys here have been chanting then he should have no issues making the staring 11 of the Olympics team irrespective of which over-aged or experienced player Siasia choses to introduce. A player that u guys said could easily have walked into the Arsenal and Man United starting 11?
