These guys have just taken INEC's card reader to exam Hall. The same way the card readers failed is the same way this will fail. Just a ruse to award someone contract and make a lot of money

This is different from INEC Card reader. No card is needed for this. The device does realtime/offline identification of fingerprints from stored templates.

I'm sure you know that INEC card readers never failed to validate cards. Its primary point of failure was biometric verification. And it did this via real-time (not too sure if it did offline). And failed woefully.

They still have to pay attention to human factor. By conspiring with the invigilator, an impersonator could still go in to the exam hall with the original candidate.

Good to see our educational system leveraging on the use of technology to curb examination malpractise that has turned our students into lazy dullards.
All sectors of the economy must embrace technology, especially mobile powered technologies to solve problems that plague us as nigerians.
Good one, i hope the schools follow suit. Our education is becoming a mockery.

My problem with Waec and Neco is that they keep chasing shadows as if they don't know where the real problem is. These exam bodies know where all the miracle centres are... After all those are where exam supervisors struggle to get or even pay and lobby to get because they know that once they get to those centres their pockets will swell.
Any technology other than stopping miracle centres ain't gonna work.

WAEC has in her quest to curb examination malpractice, introduced an new technology. Adenipekun said that the Council has begun with the November/December 2015 WASSCE, by deployment of this cutting-edge technology in the conduct of its examinations. This newly deployed technology is called “CredenceOne” .
WAEC
He said: “It is the intersection of mobile communications and biometric technology. It is a mobile biometric identification and verification system, built on the Android Operating System. Using “CredenceOne” is as simple as using a mobile phone. It is used to initiate and complete the biometric verification of candidates’ fingerprints.”

The HNO explained that the device is programmed to compare the scanned fingerprint template with the initial templates captured during registration and display the candidates details to check impersonation.
“The system also takes candidates’ attendance and automatically sends the records online to the remote central server for reporting. With this innovation, we can boldly say that WAEC, Nigeria now has its biometric fingerprint identification and verification system on a mobile device.”

Nothing will replace a vigilant and incorruptible invigilator, unless u have to install camera in the seating halls. Since the one individual can always come in sign in with the biometrics to gain entrance then the Impersonator goes I. To write the exam after bribing the invigilator
