This is so interesting but you will not believe what the answer is..... Here goes.... ''Some birds were flying and met a bird on their way.The bird greeted them,"Hello hundred".They said we're not hundred, we need half of us plus you to make us hundred'' . How many birds were flying?
Over to the scholars in da house!

66 birds

x + x/2 +1 = 100

multiply through by 2
2x + x + 2 = 200

3x = 198

x = 66

Re: Solve The Puzzle!! by divinehand2003(m): 11:17pm On Dec 18, 2015
66 isn't right my dear OP. 198 is logically right.
The equation is thus:-

let the total number of ''some birds" = X
From the question,
X/2 +1=100

Then,
X/2=100-1,
X/2=99,
multiply through 2,
X=99x2
X=198.

In order words, (198/2)+1=100

If we assume that 66 is right,
then (66/2)+1=34. It is very wrong.

Sorry I don't know Maths but:

The answer is 66

66/2= 33
66+33+1= 100

Simples! No need for equation abeg.

see the quote, ''we need half of us plus you to make us a hundred''. It may not necessarily mean that they are less than a 100.
