In the hacker community, closed application are more targeted cos they charge for it and thy have many loopholes. If they have a loophole like in windows phone OS, they would report it to windows and wait till windows declare it and then fix it. It is called a zero day vulnerability.

If it were to be open source, you have the right to fix it urself and report back to the community with an already working solution for them to fix and upgrade all over. That is why Android is everywhere... HTC, Samsung, Sony, Infinix, Huawei, Tecno... most phone companies got their own version of it.

Look at Internet Explorer and Firefox for example... Nobody would dare go for IE cos of its lame excuses here and there but they started way before Firefox and look at the upgrades Firefox has got over the years... Their release logs would show you how much people from all over the world are helping in developing Firefox by providing fixes and codes... That is why it is open.

Open is the way forward. Linux that is free is declared the best OS in terms of security.

Hope I have helped a bit.

Cerebral remarks for this piece sir.

But I am still convince open source has it advantage when it require upgrading and improving its features, close source on the other hand has hers with security .

Your Intel is first hand but I will need you to explain why apple product are much secure than android .thanks.

Password the best

Pin is more secured than pattern. Though Finger print is the best only that it has a draw back. In case of any cut or tear on ur finger, your name is sorry

No. Sorry won't be your name.

There is always a backup password you will use if, for any reason, your device didn't identify your fingerprint.

You will agree with me android operating system is the most vulnerable of all mobile operating system , many reasons play here but the most important happens to be the fact that android is an open source OS.

Despite the easy access to bypass android security lock . you can't go in to someone android phone without a key , this key can either be a PIN (a four digit number ) OR a pattern lock ( a three by three matrix grid code). Without these form of password you might need to restore the android phone to default , the hard reset is the term here.

There is one way to keep your android phone off tresspasser from your files , document etc. This is your password .

Choosing the right form of password is important , that is PIN or pattern lock . without any trick I can always break in android users phone that use pattern lock than those with PIN lock. One reason is that there is always a pattern track on your android screen . the more ofen you make use of the pattern lock the easier it is to view your pattern track .

PIN remain the best form to keep your android lock temporarily as it is difficult to be guess correctly all the time .

Let me know if you have a different thought on this .
you are right, my son always outsmart me each time I change my Lock pattern until when I finally discovered that he traces my oily drawings left on my smart phone screen, I out smarted him now since I started using pin instead. Pin lock is actually better than pattern lock.

And he knows exactly the finger you use? Or do you think all your ten fingers will work?

The scanner identifies ONLY the finger you sync.
The pin has about 10000 options from 0-9,the pattern has about 100 but there are only ten fingers/options(and the options are further reduced if you have been monitored by a determined wife, husband, girl friend, boyfriend or kid).Just a deep sleep and your finger can be placed on the scanner. Now what if you are knocked cold by an assailant? He now has enough time to test all your fingers.

What if one's finger gets burned nko!

Most finger print scanner phone has a PIN lock as a second option . for example if you place a wrong finger on my phone three times it automatically tell you to input a PIN lock.

Long time bro.

Pin Is a form of password on android phones , same with pattern lock .
Pin is not a form of password. Pin is pin, password is password. Pin uses only numbers while with password, you can have an alphanumeric combination or only alphabets as you wish.
For me I prefer pin. Patterns are just so annoying to draw atimes. But I'll easily choose a one time fingerprint scanner over all of them .

First, in the digital world, nothing is secured.

US President uses Blackberry... and according to http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/12/04/president-obama-reveals-he-is-not-allowed-to-use-apples-iphone-due-to-security-risks "President Barack Obama on Wednesday said the Secret Service does not allow him to use Apple's iPhone for security reasons" even though we all know BB is not it.... Even Angela Merkel of Great Germany uses BlackBerry... and BB is ditching their model for Android...

We claim iOS here cos we are not the primary users, in US, they are complaining about its durability stability and for security, iOS can get hacked over Wifi in minutes.

iOS just released a new update in last recent months and guess what? "New iPhone is hacked: Anonymous researchers win $1 million challenge to crack the security of Apple's latest iOS" Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3301691/New-iPhone-hacked-Unknown-researcher-awarded-1m-jail-breaking-latest-iOS.html#ixzz3ux0yZKSa

That was done by a mere researcher let alone an hacker...

Pin is more secure but in addition to face unlock, voice unlock or fingerprint.
Voice unlock can't be used everywhere. Especially in quiet places

Your phone is S6 or S6 Edge right? Now apart from locking your phone, can you also select some apps and lock them with that same finger print?
