Just got unconfirmed news that 5 drilling Engineers and 5 HSE (3 Rig safety and 2 FPSO) will be required by famfa pending medicals first week of January. 1 month training and induction |
Re: Engineering Firm In Vi Test by babacha: 8:45pm On Dec 19, 2015 |
SolutionsGuy: famfa needed 3 to 5 years experience, some of us have 5 years experience as senior mechanical tech and earning close to 400k per month and with yearly allowances. my current position as senior mech tech is clearly stated on my CV, going back to 100k or less for two years in the name of training is a backward movement for me, i taught the pay will be more since they need experience guys, from my discussion with the panel, they know my worth and to pay me little money as a trainee is some thing i will not accept. training me is not the problem but paying me less than wat am earning currently is wat i cant accept, i need to move forward, success to u guys that were called 1 Like |

xyoung: that is what i think initially, but i begin to see that there is difference between chevron and famfa. dont worry, when the training start, u will see the difference between black man and white man management. mind u, no company pay trainee operator 200k. even total and mobil dont pay up to 100k, go and ask well 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Engineering Firm In Vi Test by uchmani: 8:59pm On Dec 23, 2015 |
babacha:It would be worth knowing that total pays their trainees above 100k, and chevron above 200k, and a whole lot of package after the training. I don't think Famfa would pay less for training. And as a reminder Famfa is an operating coy, and they own the largest production field in the region. 1 Like |

uchmani: guy i am in one of total field, in fact, it is total computer and internet service am using to send this reply, i should tell u about total. total pay trainee operator 90k and nothing is attached and after the training, total pick the once they need not all. that is what they do now. Note that chevron is a multinational coy and they are the third largest oil producing coy in nigeria, famfa is a small production coy even though they have the largest share in agbami. famfa is not even among the first four largest indigenous oil production coy in nigeria. they need money to grow and expand, u cant expect them to pay like chevron. even now the big multinational like total, mobil and others are cutting down staff allowances due to fall in crude oil. my guy, famfa may try but dont think they will pay u like chevron to remind u also, NNPC have a share in any production field in nigeria, remove NNPC share from agbami and then give famfa 60% of what remain. u see that they are still small when u talk of E & P coy any way, is a good place to work been an E & P but not to compare their pay with multinationals |
Re: Engineering Firm In Vi Test by talent1: 8:12am On Dec 24, 2015 |
babacha: Bros I don't want to respond to your comments before but I think I av to now so as to clarify some unknown things. Actually I agree with you that total pay 90k for their trainee, infact Mobil pay less than that but did u know how much dis people receive as salary (basic + allowance) after dere OJT and dey confirm dem, I doubt u know because if you know you wouldn't be saying all dis as dis guys can be paying ur 400k for u monthly. Besides, the certificate dey will give u after the training is a greatest asset that even those that are not employed after the training use the certificate to get better offer in Nigeria and abroad(I know some people dat are not employed by Mobil after the OJT and now dey av gotten an offer in middle east with the certificate dey gave them after the OJT and dey are earning better than dere colleague working with Mobil here in Nigeria. U said famfa is a small producing company that it is not even among the first four largest indigenous oil producing company in Nigeria... I laughed when I was reading this...i doubt u know much about the production capacity of indigenous producing company in Nigeria...im saying dis categorically because im working with one of the indigenous E&P as an employee. ...pls can u list the first four largest indigenous oil producing company in Nigeria with their daily production capacity in terms of barrels? I also agreed with you that NNPC have a share (60%) in any production field but with exception to marginal fields but famfa own is a different case which I will explain to u d reason. Did u know dat NNPC will take 60% in any field before development not after development (what I mean is dat if a field is to be developed after confirmation that the hydrocarbon in d reservoir is in commercial quantity, then the licence holder and NNPC will finance the project together according to their qouta 60/40, so its not that the license holder we finance all the project then NNPC will just be collecting 60% like that, which is what happened between famfa and NNPC which lead famfa taking federal government of nigeria to court). After famfa partner with chevron and developed the agbami field then federal government take 60% by force which lead famfa taking federal government to court and in 2012 famfa won the case and the 60% was returned back to famfa. so famfa hold 60% in agbami...60% of 250k barrels in a day u know what dat means...dats what famfa is taking home everyday since 2012 till date. About famfa salary. ..if you have any chevron staff working in agbami ask him about famfa salary and d person will tell u...im sure u will be very shocked when d person tell you. You think most of us dont know what we are doing for about to leave our companies for the training. .. I av about 5yrs of experience in oil and gas and im currently working as an employee (staff not contract staff) in one of d indigenous exploration and production company and im ready to join famfa even with a pay less dan 100k during training. Mind you this is experience position not trainee, so anybody dat participated in d training is already famfa staff not dat dey are dropping anybody after the training. Still waiting for the list of first four indigenous e&p. Babacha pls don't be angry with me in case you find anywhere in my explanation where u feel I addressed u wrongly...we are all here on this thread to enlighten each other...nobody is highland of knowledge. ..nobody is Mr know all. My explanation is still open for correction. Thank u all 3 Likes |

Re: Engineering Firm In Vi Test by babacha: 12:58pm On Dec 25, 2015 |
talent1: " As with many other developing countries, the multinationals in Nigeria had been operating under what is called a concession system, with NNPC being the concessionaire, while the companies are the operators. " the above statement was copied from NNPC wedsite, u cannot come into nigeria and explore oil without NNPC having a share, NNPC may choose to enter a production sharing contract with any company and they share according to agreement , BUT even though NNPC is not in a production sharing contract, they still have a share as the owner of the crude. that is why u see DPR rep in any terminal or FPSO and u cant sell any crude without there knowledge. the production at agbami is not just for famfa and chevron, the concessionaire also have a share. individual think and plane differently, i have both international and local training in my field. the certificate to work abroad is not a problem. while u may choose to come down to trainee so as to earn high in future, i prefer to earn higher or remain where i am and invest my current earning in my already existing business, while you are thinking that after two years u can pay me my salary, have u also think that i have an investment that i need money to expand and if i put in more money to expand it for two years, i bet u, u will not see my back in two years time, am not planing to remain as employee all trough my life. i need to pay people also. if u have a business that is paying u well now in addition to ur salary and u are thinking of how to expand it to pay u more, u will not think the way u are thinking now goodluck to u talent, all the best 1 Like |

babacha: Babacha...U are just too funny...infact u are a real comedian ...we are talking of famfa recruitment on this thread and u turned to another thing. Anyway i have worked with your type who thinks they are the only one that knows or only what they are doing is correct and hardly reason/welcome anybody's idea in a team work. So u think u are the only one doing investment among us all dat started dis famfa recruitment, and the rest of us are using the money we have made in oil and gas for clubing ,, u are really deceiving ursef for thinking so and u are a real joker!!!. U think the <100k i said if famfa pay me during the training is enough for me to feed myself, my wife and my baby? im telling its not upto what i gave to friends and relatives every blessed month, and if i started this famfa training with <100k given by famfa monthly i will still continue giving my friends and relatives same thing im giving to them presently, im saying this for u to know that not only doing investment. Moreover, who tell u dat dis recruitment is for trainee? Or is it because dey want to give training that was y u said dis recruitment is for trainee? For all the interviews i av attended so far, famfa never said dis recruitment is for trainee, or u think dey dont know what dey are doing for recruiting people with 3-5 yrs in oil and gas and not 0 yrs of experience. Assuming u are working in exploration and production company and not servicing company where u are working now, then u will know d importance the exploration and production company placed on training. No matter the number of years of experience (even if <30 yrs) u are coming with from one E&P ,If u are joining another E&P u are still going to be given enough/adequate training and d duration of d training will depend on the company policy. U think if u are a Production Operator with yrs of experience in total egina fpso and u changed company to chevron agbami fpso, u think u will be able to operate agbami fpso because of your yrs of experience in total egina fpso? Its capital NO!!! because first, the two fpso may be designed and constructed by different company which is what is rampart in most fpso's, secondly even if d same company design and construct the 2 fpso's, dey will different specification which depends on what clients want, dere are many things u will see in one fpso and u wouldn't see it another fpso. I think at dis point i will not respond to u anymore as this will be my last response to ur post. But i will just urge u not to change this thread to another thing, there are many people on this thread that did not make it to final interview yet dey didnt discourage another peoples opinion. Thank u for wishing me goodluck, i wish u same. Sloutionsguy compliments of the season...we are still waiting for u on this thread 1 Like |

Guys let's not distract the attention some of us has given this thread by engaging in unproductive arguments that mean nothing to this thread, some people are awaiting their offer letter from famfa oil, pls let us do them the honour of informing and encouraging them in the new challenge they are about to face. @Babacha......... U don't need to make decisions for the final people that Famfa will select, it's a personal decision, so save ur epistles. @ Solutionsguy....... .. babacha: I overheard some chevron staffs wanna join Famfa oil.. i think they pay very well. I know an engineer working with them and he earns bigger than his mates in chevron Famfa has money but less staff. Chevron has more money but too much staffs. Imagine if you wanna link that to how good they can pay |
