doctokwus: Most of these countries that are investing in exploration at the moment are the gulf countries already producing at near optimal levels and for them production volumes is not the priority but reserves whereas as a country we have been struggling over the years to bring up production to 3million bopd, our priorities should be about our position when the oil price commences its upward journey. |

4Play: See attached for the 2015 figures for non-oil task for Q1, Q2, & Q3. I believe the figures could be added since the PPT for Q1 is higher than the corresponding figure for Q2 cummulative for non-oil tax for the 9 months of the year would be in excess of 1.8trillion. if government can stop excessive leakages she MAY be able to meet her target in that regards 2 Likes

Okay 2016 budget about to borrow 800bn naira. Where are my Treasury bills Investors annd Bonds Investor? How feasible Is this plan? Who will want to Invest in bonds when currently interest rate is at 5-7% p.a. Except CBN will increase interest rates to atleast above the Inflation rate of 9%, I don't see how they'll meet up with the Domestic borrowings. Coz That Interest rate is so not Attractive! To Local & foreign Investors of Bond& treasury bills |

For me the budget isn't fair at all! Any budget that doesn't allocate 18% or more to education is a sham. Just like the PDP, APC allocated just a megre 6% of budget to education. That's so little |

Education & Health seem to have more allocated. Seems ok. But then Naira is worth much less now than same time last year. The increment might not make much difference. Where is the source of the huge non-oil revenue? From taxes/duties or what? Because, assuming less corruption, capable ministers and a desire to do well, implementing the budget depends on actually finding the money. |

Another profligate budget... 30% capital budget is peanut compared to 2013 when it was about 31%; it was 24% in 2014 ; 2015 is about 18% -- all these when the national budget was around N4tn. Now, GMB is increasing the national budget by 50%, the only way to stimulate Naija economy is by increasing capital budget 60-70%.. It's a better idea to borrow close to N2tn to finance capital budget to spur economic growth instead of spending 70% of borrowed funds on paying political appointees . For every N100 Naija spends in 2016, N70 is chop money for politicians and workers while N30 is for building roads, schools, hospitals etc.. We are toast!! |

centvin008: It gladens my heart to know that Education budget is more than defence. Expect a huge improvement in our educational system. At the end of the day, government schools will still be the front-burner of self reliance and development through training. I am positive. Come to think of it, investment in non-oil sector will be more profitable to this country. You'll agree with me comparing revenues coming from oil and non-oil sectors respectively. The future is brighter |
