Fani Kayode and any other thief that hides under the guise of a public watchdog - If your aim is to destabilize the current administration for your selfish or partisan gain, your life will be damaged beyond your repair. You will suffer unimaginable and irremediable pain and anguish! No evil shall befall your kin, folks, family etc. This curse is especially for you. Remember, the curse is for the thieves, the corrupt and the enemies of the nations progress. If you fall under this group whether you are APC or PDP, and you quote me to defend them, the curse's force will double in your life. 3 Likes 1 Share |

babosky2008: FFK couldn't have spoken then since he was part of the looters. Being in the opposition now, and being the hypocrite that he is, he has decided to speak up now. Unless funds are judiciously utilized and our economy diversified, this government will be no different from the one where FFK and co converted national wealth and assets to their own. 1 Like |

For me I think the budget is ok and well structured. At least this is the first time we are having a president that has given detailed information on the way forward in this country. A president who could come out and apologise to Nigerians about the fuel situation. Other past leaders cannot be compared to him, at least Nigerians now believe in this country for once and they also have hope that things will get better than before. God bless Nigeria!!! 2 Likes |

“In order to fund part of the budget the government intends to borrow money and this will throw our country into even greater debt. What a tragedy this is given the fact that in 2007 Nigeria was debt-free. how come Nigeria is in great debt (#10.4trillion) as at 2014 . Ffk is sick 2 Likes |

Fellow Nigerians, please don't be crossed with Mr Fani, he is still has not come to terms with what led him out of APC in the first place. Secondly, he is also angry and can't believe he wouldn't share from 2016 budget as they use to during the era of PDP. Allow him the freedom of speech, which include saying rubbish. 4 Likes |

fasho01:What do you mean by the emboldened part of your statement?.... After OBJ virtually cleared Nigeria's debts accumulated through the military years, go and check what the PDP under GEJ specifically borrowed (I say under GEJ not because I want to attack him but because 99% of the borrowings actually happened under him). Even though the nation enjoyed much more income from oil, borrowing escalated under GEJ and we even borrowed to pay salaries. The debts accumulated between 2007 to 2015 is presently way way more than what was cleared by OBJ. Yet this same PDP is here asking APC who they left an empty treasury for not to borrow. Probably the idea is to ensurw APC doesnt lay down a single block till 2019 so they can claim apc has done nothing. Someone needs to cut off this FFK's tongue and fingers. I really wish buhari was still a military man. 4 Likes |

fasho01: There is actually no problem with borrowing. The major problem is what you end up doing with the borrowed funds. If the fund is meant to finance capital expenditure which will aid our cash inflows in the future then there is a good justification for it. In capital budgeting you will consider the internal rate of returns (IRR) and Net Present Value (NPV) to either reject or accept projects after factoring the cost of debt into the equation. If well used the borrowed may be able to pay itself back. It smacks of mischief when the likes of FFK criticize this budget without criticizing PDP senators like Ben Bruce who had encouraged PMB, after the release of the MTEF, to borrow a substantial amount to jumpstart the revival of infrastructures instead of borrowing piecemeal. 2 Likes |

Parrot Femi Fani Fakayode: First, can someone tell this "diarrhoea-mouth" called FFK that Crude oil, which is the main source of revenue for the Government, was not an abysmal $36 per Barrel, in 2007! Infact, it was hovering at $130 per barrel. Thus comparing 2007 to 2016 shows that as usual, FFK is high on some very cheap "Ajegunle weed". Again, let me enlighten our people that THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BORROWING..... AS LONG AS YOU DONT USE THE BORROWED MONEY TO DO OWAMBE PARTY.... OR LOOT AND SHARE IT LIKE PDP/DASUKI/DOKPESI/BAFARAWA/IKEJI/GEJ/THISDAY NEWSPAPERS, ETC HAVE DONE. Successful people like Dangotte, Otedola, had borrowed money at various times, to finance and advance their business. There is a reason banks charge you interest on "borrowed money" because the understand that when properly utilised, you are bound to make even more money from it, after repaying the capital and interest. So, if Nigeria borrows money to say for example, improve Power Supply, the implications are as below: 1.) Less people will spend their income on buying Generators => More money in their pocket to do other things 2.) Less people will depend on, or buy Fuel for Generators => More money for other things 3.) less queue at petrol stations => less man-hours are wasted on fuel queues, less people are exposed to hazard of fire at such stations 4.) People can buy food stuffs in bulk, cook in bulk and store in their freezer => The savings pass across to Household income/savings 5.) Less Generators imply less dangerous carcinogenic fumes into the atmosphere => Less people get sick, less of our disposable income is spent on combating illness 6.) Since less people will buy Generators, it implies less people would store Generator fuel at home => reduces risk of fires and burns to house owners 7.) Owners of cottages business will spend less on running their business as they can save on fuel price => tendency to expand their business 8.) Street Lights will work => neighbourhoods get properly lit at Night => Risk of armed robbery is reduced and people can actually have a better quality of life. 9.) reduced Risk of security above means the Police can divert their resources to more challenging issues 10.) Finally, all the savings above means each household has more disposable income to buy other things they need => improved business atmosphere which result sin increased taxes to Govt coffers Now, imagine *if such borrowings also went into education => Standards of our schools will improve and all those money wasted to study abroad (even in lowly places like Ghana!) will be spent in Nigeria and fuel our own economy! *If spent on health => less Nigerians will die prematurely and less Nigerians will waste forex in travelling abroad for medical treatment *If spent on Road infrastructure => Goods and Services get to reach their areas of need/sale easier and faster => Goods are services become cheaper for everyone. From the look of things, l dont see this Govt of PMB embezzling or encouraging embezzlement, as done by the last administration of GEJ so, borrowing to jump-start the economy might not be a bad idea. My point is: Borrowing is NOT ALWAYS A BAD THING. It is what you do with the borrowed funds that count.... so FFK should shut-da-phuck-Up and stop smoking expired weed! Lastpage! 4 Likes |
