@justwise and everyone in the house. Merry Xmas in advance, I wanted to find out if a pregnant woman of 6 months will have to do the TB test? |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by newbie715: 10:44am On Dec 24, 2015 |
nma01: Hiya nma01, since the pregnancy has advanced to the end of the second trimester they will offer 2 options: to wear a protective covering and do the xray or to do the sputum test. They will push for the sputum because xray isn't good for pregnant women. The sputum requires the person to go there early in the morning for 3 consecutive morning and spit then the result will be out in 8 weeks. 1 Like |

phardey: Good afternoon, very nice to see you are settled in now, i hope it was a pleasant transition. Its a very mild winter this year, although I'm sure the cold weather is yet to come. We are still waiting, I'm being very well controlled i must say, and I am quite shocked that I've been able to keep myself from peeking at the tracking site...although at present the tracking page has been removed, just as well I hope you have a lovely Christmas, and here's to many more successful Visa applications in 2016 1 Like |

Hope this helps someone..... HEALTH SURCHARGE PAYMENT From 6 April 2015, visa applicants intending to stay in the UK for longer than 6 months will normally need to make a Health surcharge payment when applying for their visa. To avoid unnecessary delays in processing visa applications, our customers are strongly advised to visit our website, www.gov.uk/home-office before making an application to check whether the surcharge applies in the category of visa bring applied for. Specific surcharge enquiries relating to an application already made should be e-mailed to IHS.Sheffield@fco.gsi.gov.uk WHAT IS COVERED BY THE SHEFFIELD VISA SECTION? The Sheffield Visa Section currently deals with settlement applications lodged in: · Canada · Jamaica · Nigeria · The United States of America The Sheffield Visa Section also processes all applications submitted at: · Victoria Island Visa Application Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. · Visa Application Centres in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Banjul, Gambia, Yaounde, Cameroon, Dakar, Senegal and Abidjan, Ivory Coast. · St Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Rostov on Don Visa Application Centres in Russia. Important note: Emails regarding any other categories or countries will receive no response and should be addressed to the Visa Section to which you have applied. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO PROCESS MY APPLICATION? · For applicants who plan to come to the UK on a temporary basis, including visitors, and applicants applying under the Points Based System (PBS), we aim to make a decision within 15 WORKING DAYS. · UKVI aims to conclude settlement applications within 12 WEEKS of the application date. Any emails sent before the above timescales have elapsed will not be responded to. Should your application decision be delayed we will contact you to explain why. You may wish to check the current processing times online for the country in which you intend to or have already applied in. CAN YOU EXPEDITE MY APPLICATION? We are unable to expedite any applications unless they are exceptional and/or compelling reasons to do so, e.g. a serious medical reason for travel. Prepaid flight tickets or hotel bookings are not considered to be a compelling reason to prioritise an application. If you are making an enquiry that relates to compassionate or compelling circumstances please include as much information as possible. HOW CAN I FIND INFORMATION ON THE VISA APPLICATION PROCESS? You can find information about applying for a UK visa on the UK visas and immigration website. Here you will find information on whether you need a visa, the requirements for each visa category, the cost, guidance on how to apply for a visa and a link to information on your nearest visa application centre. Should you need to ask a question about the visa application process, you may contact our international visa enquiry service. Staff at Embassies, visa processing centres and visa application centres are unable to assist with general visa enquiries. Detailed information and guidance on applying for a visa can be found on the following websites. · https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ · http://www.ge2.gh.tpcontact.co.uk/ · https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration Queries about the visa application process sent to this inbox will not be responded to. CAN I SEND EXTRA DOCUMENTS TO SUPPORT MY APPLICATION? Due to the high number of applications received, we cannot guarantee that such documents will be linked to the application in order for the Entry Clearance Officer to consider them. Any supporting documents should be submitted at the time of the application. If we require additional documents, an applicant may be asked to supply these after the application has been submitted. HOW DO I APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION MADE ON MY APPLICATION? There is no full right of appeal against the decision to refuse visit visa applications. You are entitled to make a fresh application at any time addressing the points made in your refusal notice. All appeals must be lodged directly with HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) in the UK. Please follow the instructions on guidance form that comes with the refusal letter. Details of how to pay the fee and lodge your appeal are available from the following link http://www.justice.gov.uk/. If enquiring about the progress of an appeal, we will not be able to respond. Please contact the HM courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS) by emailing customer.service@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk. Once your appeal is forwarded to us by the Tribunal, your appeal will be put into a queue for an Entry Clearance Officer to review the decision. In fairness to all our customers, appeals are dealt with in a strict order. Please note that we have no influence over how long the appeal process takes and we will not respond to queries about this. If you are enquiring about an allowed appeal, please note that we will contact you once we have received our official copy of the appeal determination from the First-Tier Tribunal in the UK. We are unable to process a successful appeal until we receive the official copy of the determination. Please note this can take up to 6 weeks. Emails sent before this time has elapsed will not be responded to. CAN I REQUEST A REVIEW ON THE DECISION MADE ON MY VISA APPLICATION? You will be told in your application refusal letter if you can ask for the decision on your visa application to be reviewed. This is known as an ‘administrative review’. You can only ask for an administrative review if your application was refused and all of the following apply: You are outside the UK You applied outside the UK You applied to work or study in the UK under a Tier 1, 2, 4 or 5 visa You must apply for an administrative review within 28 days of receiving the decision. You must: Fill in the administrative review application form stating why you think a mistake was made Email the completed form to Administrative.Reviews@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk 4 Likes 1 Share |

****urgent-stuck in Canada **** Today, Dec 30 2015 after spending the holidays with our family in Montreal my wife and step children were denied reentry into the United States because I was honest that my children were enrolled in school in New Jersey. We are in the process our I 430, I 864, and ds-260 visa completions. Our petition has been approved and we are awaiting final interview. We have gone in and out of the country several times the last few months and always been forthcoming about our pending visa status. However today the CBP denied my family entry for the simple fact that I stated that my children go to high school in New Jersey now. Please note that we have custody of our children, I am a US citizen, and despite that they are Canadians living in the US our employers and source of income are also Canadian. My wife files taxes here and I file my 1099 annually. Meaning that to our knowledge we are not breaking any labor laws. Im a US citizen paying taxes which cover the associated costs of my childrens schooling. Additionally we are legally married in both countries and therefore have filed the I430 transfer Alien Relative visa application. Therefore they are technically still tourists going in and out of the country within the allowable time frame. I am going to the US consulate in Montreal tomorrow on an emergency basis to get my family back in the country but need any and all advice as to how I can accomplish this successfully. Thank you! |

nma01: My suggestion is that you call IOM and explain the situation and see how you can get the xray option if you are ok with it, I'd suggest you talk with your doctor about it first. Hi, Please I am a bit confused about this question. "Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?" I have applied for a visit, student and work visa before but not in the UK. All my applications have been done in Nigeria. Do I answer Yes or No? Thanks |

Hi all, I need to rant because I'm thinking about so many things I think I have found what my passion is when it comes to career choices, with all the research i do and advice I give on a daily basis, I think i would like to go into Immigration Law, so once hubby is here and working I'm going to start planning to get myself on to the courses I also am very passionate about money management and budgeting, after getting into debt at a young age and getting out of it on my own from strict budgets, I have pushed this onto my baby sister (I say baby she's 20 ) but i helped her save and budget nevertheless. Also I have experience of working within an energy company, I did a course on energy efficiency/ and how to control and stop issues with condensation within homes etc....ahh I'm confused what do I do? Even my boss keeps telling me my knowledge is wasted in this company, I just don't have the qualifications to back it up...just experience https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-to-become-a-regulated-immigration-adviser/how-to-become-a-regulated-immigration-adviser 1 Like |

Portsmouth86: Immigration Law, about 15 - 20 years ago I would advise, now......... Hmmmmm A law degree (LLB) would be 3 years of hard grafting in uni. Talking about Budgeting, that's also a 3 year degree in accounting Attaining all this degrees, still does not make you a professional. You would still need extra schooling to practise in either professions. Because one has a passion for something does not mean a career can be achieved. Go with what your heart tells you and something you feel you have the educational ability to achieve!!! NB: Do you want to be a Lawyer, an accountant and an energy warrior? 1 Like |

Ladies and gents Does anyone know how much it is to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate from Ikoyi registry office? Got hubby to go ask he's saying it's 40,000 naira... For a certificate really?? Here it's like 3,000 naira big difference and also apparently they need my passport data page and a passport pic Sounds like a scam, I just wanted to get one as ours is with home office and need it to apply for my Nigerian spouse visa |
