Feminism is a range of movements and ideologies that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve equal political, economic, cultural, personal, and social rights for women.” – Wikipedia To be submissive is to obey or yield to someone else. For the purpose of this post, the word submissive is being used to refer to women who are married to a male partner and also happen to be devoted feminists. As a woman and as an advocate of feminism, how do you reconcile your need to for equal rights with the biblical need to submit yourself to a man; your husband. As a feminist i'll say yes u can b a feminist nd still b submissive to ur husband Let me start like dis feminism is about equal justice wen i get married *hopefully* i would be submissive to my husband care nd love but marriage is all bou support nd agreement.A guy cant just rise up in d morning nd just pick a girl nd force her to marry him no way. So a man and woman has to come together to agree Like wise both families too even when God created eve there had to b a mutual agreement between God nd adam so eve can b a companion So wen i marry me nd my husband wud sit to agree on lots of things doesnt mean im nt submissive We sit nd agree on certain roles each of us needs to take in the marriage When i don't do my duties after d role i'm to do nd after d agreement den i am nt submissive But to other men out there i wud b a shasha fierce 1 Like |

Let's not confuse definitions to suit our arguments or theories. Feminism is simply, a movement or stance that promotes equa in economic, political, and social statuses for BOTH sexes. Women's Rights Movement promotes rights primarily women. It does NOT include men. Submission (biblically) is for a wife to yield to her husband that is Christ's right hand. If you read Ephesian 5 (entirely) it gives conditions on when and why a wife should be submissive. If the husband is instructed by God/Jesus to perform certain acts or gives certain directions, to allow the husband to fulfill what was directed of him, he can't have a wife that is in disagreement with the directions. Spiritually, she should yield (submit) without recoursw. Our ideas and desires are separate from what society thinks a woman and man should function in a marriage. If the couple have mutually agree to follow certain acts and support each other's difference of ideas then that is their business. In the case of women who are feminists wanting to have equal access to listed factors have nothing to do with a woman's ability or inability to yield to her husband's directions that is given by God/Jesus. If you think about it with adding emotions; it is logical for a woman not to give trouble if it is beneficial for the pair of them. Why would she? Exactly. |
