EUROBOMBER:
The Op manipulated the title to give himself orgasms. There is nowhere in the write up that he said "My client is NOW open to peace and dialouge."

This makes it look like the lawyer is now begging.

This is what he said here:

My client is not averse to peace. Remember that his strategy is that of non-violence. Non-violence is synonymous to peace. Personally, I have also preached peaceful settlement of this issue to well-meaning Nigerians.

Mynd44, this title is misleading.
Dont mind them, these Nigerians in their myopia think that everybody is as gulible as them. Nnamdi Kanu is as passionate about Biafra as a radicalized islamist who has been promised 77 virgins. These Nigerians always allow their imagination to becloud their sense of reasoning & you see them talking nonsense like Igbos are fighting because GEJ lost. IPOB are protesting out of hunger & unemployement. Biafra is a media creation & is being sponsored by pdp & bla bla bla.

Exactly.

Even okujwu learnt his lesson the very hard way before he died.

Same for Gani Adams. After he was dealt with severely by OBJ and Tinubu (he went into hiding for years, caught, disgraced and sent to jail to languish). Since then, he hadn't used OPC to ferment trouble or talk about any oduduwa seccession agenda.

Nigeria's prison will tame even the hardest activist.
naija bad. he won't be released until he signs some form of agreement. I pity am. mistaking Nigeria for Britain!

The ultimate aim of the underlying tactic behind the release and charge tactic played on Nnamdi Kanu is to psychologically break the young man from his Biafran agitation, which suppresses his right to expression of freedom. Looking closely, the UK government seems to be working in hand with the Nigerian government to suppress the Biafran agitation. The British people have never liked the Igbos since coming into contact with them. They have had a long history of Igbo resistance and have always seen the Igbos as challenging, non-compliant and uppity. Starting from the slave trade era when Igbo slaves were known to be rebellious, challenging and unruly, to the days of Jaja of Opobo, of late 19th century, forming a successful government and defying the British repeated entry attempts into Opobo until finally scheming and sending him into exile where he was killed, to the Aba women's riot of 1929, to the British fight at Burma where Nigerian soldiers fought alongside British soldiers where it was recorded that if you heard any arguments in the camp between a British colonel and a black, that black was, most times, an Igbo, who was bold enough to question and challenge the tactics and politics of the British much to the chagrin of the British people, to the pre-independence era and agitation for a Nigerian independence from British rule (thus ending British tyranny) spearheaded mostly by an Igbo, Nnamdi Azikiwe and to the present-day continued Igbo agitation for Biafra, which would break up a polity strategically set-up for British selfish gains. David Cameron's presence in the last Nigerian governorship meeting is a subtle message to Nigeria that the UK is more interested in Nigeria's continuity than any break up, indicating that they are benefiting from the North-South relationship called Nigeria. In the same vein, Nnamdi Kanu's arrest could have strongly been as a result of a tip-off by the UK government as soon as he left the UK. It is easy to keep tabs on him by airport officials as soon as he left the UK for Lagos and the message passed on to the Nigerian government to be ready to arrest him. This could also explain why, despite being a UK citizen and holding a British passport, the UK government never showed interest in rescuing or intervening on behalf of one of their own while in prison. This is in contrast to the US government that cares for its citizens worldwide anywhere they might be and fights for them regardless.

Just like Wole Soyinka said, you cannot kill the Biafran idea. The Biafran dream cannot be killed completely. The Nigerian government may succeed in temporarily postponing its break up, but as long as the injustice of the polity called Nigeria continues where a section (s) of the country continue to benefit at the detriment of others, I do not see the quest for Biafra ending anytime soon.

I agree.

He must receive the reverend King treatment.

Kanu's case must reach the Supreme Court whilst he is languishing in solitary confinement at kirikiri.

This will be a very good precedent and serve as a deterrent to others.

We have enough problems dealing with boko haram, poverty, poor infrastructure, etc and one idio.t with British passport wants to start another civil war in nigeria.
Don't mind d man jare! I jus luv as DSS dey handle d mata! From one charge to anoda! Giving it to him in piecemeal! I jus luv PMB jare! He has warned that no group will be allowd to hold us hostage! Kanu is not bigger than Nig!

See excerpt from the interview he granted the Sun Newspapers.

Many Igbo leaders are interested in wading into the matter and possibly brokeringĀ  peace in thisĀ  standoff, is your client opposed to this?

My client is not averse to peace. Remember that his strategy is that of non-violence. Non-violence is synonymous to peace. Personally, I have also preached peaceful settlement of this issue to well-meaning Nigerians.

As a result, if Igbo leaders are interested in taking part in the peace process, I want to assure you that my client will support it, but it has to be an intervention that must be bona fide and predicated on utmost trust and sincerity on their part. This preliminary peace process will be to lay a foundation for the bigger/comprehensive dialogue upon the release of my client.

To me, no meaningful and enduring dialogue takes place while he is still incarcerated because you cannot negotiate with a man in chains. He must be released first. Prominent Igbo leaders as Chief Chekwas Okorie, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and others too numerous to mention, for want of space, have joined the clarion call for the release of my client. Other prominent Nigerians such as Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, Prof. Wale Soyinka, Alhaji Balarabe Musa have also advised that the Federal Government should toe the path of dialogue to avoid the matter getting out of hand. As for me, I will enjoin the government to play according to the rule of law and at best adopt alternative dispute strategy in the interest of Nigerians.

There is something fundamentally wrong with most Nigerians. Sometimes, I tend to blame quota system for some of the Nigeria's problem. After reading few paragraphs of the above post, how intellectually anemic can it get with the caption of this thread?

Everything is misleading about the title as captioned by the author. The lawyer said he has personally canvassed for a peaceful way out to notable Nigerians. What is difficult for you to comprehend here?
