Hundreds of Shiite Muslims hit the streets of Kano today to celebrate the annual birthday anniversary of Prophet Mohammed on their Maulud celebration and also to mourn those of their brothers who had died lately.

The procession was carried out by both men and women alike,including children also as they all dress in black attires.

The Shiites were led by Mallam Sanusi Abdulkadir who said it has been their practice to partake in the celebratory message of Maulud Nabiy, but this year's message is so different because they are out to mourn the genocidal carnage perpetrated by the Nigerian Army against their members in Zaria.
