Keneking: I got a mail from GTB telling me I have only 1000 dollars which its just fine by me if that's all the government say they can allow per month. but all the ATM here say invalid transacation since this news broke out. No atm is diapensing anymore and school fees needa to be paid by January so the 1000 limit is a scam. no ATM is giving out cash to naira ATM card holders any more. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I guess most people don't understand the reason my restriction was put on atm. People think its to stop people from laundering money. It's way deeper than that. Its actually to save our foreign reserve 1 Like |

Are we to pay for the sins of those that loot our common wealth. If this is not corrected soon, Nigeria students abroad, the future leaders won't be able to pay and meet their daily bills. Is already bad that the Nairn has depreciated since Buhari came on board and this is hitting us bad. Now we can't even access the little money in our account via ATM. Nigeria banks charges exorbitant rates on each withdraws and reducing the daily withdraws further jeans more money for the banks. Is becoming obvious that Buhari that really value education. Is already bad that 1pounds is not 420 Naira and yet they have limit they further reduce daily withdraw. I thought Buhari said during his campaign that he will make dollar equal to Naira. 1 Like 1 Share |

brunofarad:Let me explain to you... You will pity everybody, when you use your naira ATM abroad you get dollars for Naira. The exchange rate is so volatile that if you withdraw at 250 Naira two weeks ago, your bank will be clearing the debt on your behalf at 295 Naira today... Usually the ATM operator reconcile your spending spree with your bank at current exchange rate... Your banks do not accept dollar deposit anymore to offset their bills due to CBN regulations...so you can see the conflicts... Naira is on a free fall for now. Good news for exporters. 4 Likes 1 Share |

It a wasn't funny yesterday as I was highly embarrassed at a particular mall in abudhabi when I purchased some items worth of 250 dirhams now for me to pay with my nairacard. The cashier told me at first that sir u ve insufficient balance which I told her to reduce the amount to half while I pay the balance by cash, surprisingly she repeated the same statement again of insufficient balance which I later demanded for my atm card so as to withdraw from a nearby machine and pay for my items but I was shocked checking my balance and yet find it difficult to withdraw. I think the government should find a better option for this development to safe a life of Nigerians Diaspora. 1 Like |

IT IS ONLY A WICKED AND CORRUPT PERSON THAT WILL KICK AGAINST THE NEW CBN LAW, MOST NIGERIANS THAT I KNOW ARE EXTREMELY STUPID WHEN IT COMES TO GOING ABROAD TO SPEND.............. AS A FOREX CURRENCIES TRADER ITS A GOOD WAY TO GO....... AND ITS IN THE UTMOST AND BEST INTEREST OF THIS GREAT NATION NIGERIA. SO WHY HULLABALOO......... THOSE THAT ARE AGAINST THE NEW CBN NAIRA ATM LAW MIGHT NOT UNDERSTAND THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE EFFECT IT WILL HAVE ON THE NIGERIA ECONOMY. AS FOR ME AM IN SUPPORT OF IT...... 2 Likes |

Moahmed: When I was studying my house rent alone for a quarter was £1200 which is about $1750. How will an allowance of $1000 quarterly cover this? People that study in London can sometimes pay double or even triple that amount in accommodation costs alone 1 Like |

I don't understand the uproar about this ban on Naira cards. Most people who traveled for study overseas in 2009 and earlier never used these Naira cards, and we still were able to get access to our living expenses. There is nothing wrong in carrying your living expenses as cash and depositing it in a foreign bank account as soon as you arrive at your school. The bank will then give you a proper Mastercard or Visa, not this Naira card trash. In 2009, I used the black market at MMA to convert my living expenses to GBP. No qualms whatsoever. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

JayJustus: OK thanks when last did you use the ATM. I still tried mine christmas Eve and nothing was given and i am fast looking for plan B. I guess i might just open a thread on NL for people who need naira in place of Pounds or dollars or Rands. so we go back to trade by bata jeje. This matter no funny sha ohh. and I don't have time to play any blame game. I would rather look for a solution and let the situation work in my favor. 3 Likes |

U said the government means well and if it means well, then we should bear the effects of the policy to achieve the proposed goal. The pain will be temporary. The problem we have is that we are a selfish and self centered people. We are being called upon to adjust as the economy is being repositioned but nobody wants the adjustment that will affect him. 1 Like |
