Chai! Isn't this what GEJ tried to do? Like word for word?

Na wa for naija sha, we only agree that 2 + 2 equals 4, when it is "our person" that said it.

Soo disgusting undecided

Won't it have been even better to remove subsidy when oil prices were high That way, all those huge savings could have been used to fast tract our development, i.e, more locomotives, high speed trains, roads, security, e.t.c

What really is the benefit of removing subsidy now and having petrol go from 87 naira to the proposed 85 naira? Abi, is it 2 naira per litre savings that the government will use to fund more infrastructure

What also happens if oil price rises again to around 80 dollars per barrel? Would cheap Nigerians, who like everything free, be able to pay a 130-160 naira official pump price?

Anywho, it is what it is, better late than never!

Please how much are you currently buying?

This was the same subsidy APC occupied Nigeria for cuz the former government wanted to remove it

If our government choose to be insincere just to get cheap votes while hiding the truth from the public is unacceptable

When you campaign, do not make promises you cannot keep cuz the electorate is gradually becoming literate and aware of their rights

We do not want to pay money to thin air in the name of subsidy but why did he promise not to remove it before election but now removing it after election?
Nigerians wants to pay a lower price for PMS. Then if the subsidy was removed, the price will have doubled but now even if the subsidy is removed, Nigerians will pay less. Why then should there be subsidy? The price of crude is $37, the price of PMS is cheap, Nigerians can pay the same price without subsidy even though in the first place the Nigerian economy cannot even sustain subsidy at the moment.

NLC got it twisted. Removal of subsidy is not a deliberate attempt by the Govt to make Nigerians suffer. Nigeria is paying too much for subsidy. We can use the money for other infrastructural projects ie Transport. Removal of subsidy is for the benefit of Nigerians pls. Sometimes I think the leadership of NLC aren't transparent and their call for strikes are not born out of genuine intention for the masses but rather of service for some cabals.
Can civil servant buy fuel at N150/ltr?

NLC has never stood for the masses and this is not the time to pretend.

A consumer wants products to be available at the most reasonable and affordable price.

85 per liter without additional burden of subsidy bills on the part of govt sounds like a news Nlc should be happy about with sound analysis not this usual bravado about kicking against all govt policies without thinking.

Let's poll this and see if Nlc is not on his own in this issue.
To think that they are already kicking against it without seeing the policy thrust from govt documentation speaks volumes of the mindset of the leadership of the Nlc.
anyone follows them go do any protest is a fools.....#87 without wasting money on subsidy, I think we shld be happy
Re: NLC: We'll Hold Buhari To His Promise Not To Remove Fuel Subsidy by dorodee(m): 4:14pm On Dec 27, 2015
Why can't govt just fight the subsidy corruption. Instead of total removal... What happens to the poor when crude goes up soon as its been expected? .. I see 2012 Karma coming after this government... We really need to pray for PMB.. Selah!

Buhari should order them to sign undertaking that if any life loss, all the execute would face life imprisonment at kirikiri, ikoyi or kuje anyone of their choice. Enough of self centred protest.

If fuel subsidy was removed during gej era is it not that the thieves will steal it (President stealing is not a corruption) If fuel subsidy is removed during pmb I'm sure the masses will benefit from it cos we have an honest and capable vice president and president. Nigeria shall regain her lost glory. Amen.
The honest president who accepted the gift of 2 jeeps and $300,000 from Dasuki knowing fully well Dasuki's office isn't empowered to make such donations. Where is the honesty?
The question you guys have refused to answer is why he wants to remove subsidy now having promised during the campaigns not to? Where is the honesty in promising what you know you don't have the capacity to fulfil? Where's the honesty in deception and lies?
Just accept it your president is as bad and corrupt like the rest.

You don't get it bro. Everyone knows the subsidy regime is bad and injurious to the economy but the APC just to win election promised not to tinker with it meaning that they won't remove the subsidy. Now they have won election on the strength of that promise and they are changing tune. What do you expert NLC to do?
Jonathan met a fraudulent subsidy system and not satisfied with it tried to remove it and reinvest the end in more productive ventures but the opposition led by Tinubu ganged up with the civil societies to frustrate the move. Suddenly it has dawned on them that the system should be scraped.
U 've spoken well bro but just that we can't keep on progressing in error, let the needful be done for benefit of Nigerians.

It is now you know right? When GEJ made attempt to remove it in 2012, did you not take to the street to protest? When you were being led by the likes of president,El - rufai, Tunde Bakare and others to protest against fuel subsidy removal, didn't you realise the importance of the removal then? Or were you blindfolded by sentiment and hatred towards the then government? Some Nigerians can be funny and wicked atimes! Some of those people that called for the head of GEJ for planning to remove fuel subsidy are the same people saying fuel subsidy should be removed. This is serious!

Just curious.

Shouldn't the drastic drop in crude oil price automatically erase the need for subsidy?

I think NLC is the most useless union have known. Things they should protest for they are not protesting for, it is things that will benefit Nigerians on the long run they are fighting against. well they are just riding on the gullibility of Nigerians . When they increased electricity tariff did they protest ? No. When they failed to do the Ibadan express way after awarding contract did they protest ? No. when they increased Lasu schools fees astronomically did they protest ? No. NLC is just a union looking for way to make money for themselves and try to make another oshiomole which is impossible. They are unserious.
Why do you people hate to speak the truth?.
you want every thing to favour you.
They have suddenly become useless because they spoke the truth.
guy APC is a scam
