I weep for the so called Nigerian youths! So it has come to the extent that they cannot understand simple information? Airlines are doing businesses in Nigeria, footing all their bills but cannot take home their profits thus they may reduce the presence due to the dollar restrictions - if you are in their shoes what will you do? If the western world made it a low that you cannot leave America or Britain with what you have earned in their nation how will Nigerians see it? From your understanding is this policy not a negative one for Nigerians and our economy? Can someone suggest to foreigners how best to take their hard earned money home! Sall: 9 Likes 1 Share |

Blackkie: Bro you dnt get it, nobody is saying they shld not take their profit home, Can a nigeria doing business in UK/US allow to accept Payment in Naira from UK/US citizens. when the business get to Nigeria, he changes his dollar to Naira. So the Airline can go back to their various country and change the Naira to their dollar/pound. with that their will be demand for Naira in other country, and that will help strengthen our Naira, simply because the demand for dollar is high in Nigeria that one of the major reason our naira is in a free fall. I know of some places in Ikoyi, that shooping complex where they only accept dollar, for payment of Goods, we have same in Abuja too. it worrisome. 24 Likes |

I believe you read the main information from the media. The issue here is that there is a RESTRICTION on foreign businesses in Nigeria taking their profits home. Is Naira an international currency? The airline operators are not asking the government not to have restrictions but banned their access to forex is a going to boast trade. Consequently, you will ask Chinese firms to collect Naira from their business partners and then change it to Yen - in a championship, the winner takes the gold while others scramble for the remaining wares. Ok, these airlines are ready to take Naira out and change yet the government is against taking our currency out - what is the wisdom in all these? As much as nations have what we refer to as sovereignty, to remain relevant in the world economy there is a great need for inter-dependence among nations. How will Nigeria survive, let me know. No one is stopping Nigerians abroad from demanding their salary in Naira, so also for payment of different things. You are aware that your Naira has little or no value intenationally, and you cannot use force to add value to it. Mind you this restrictions are offering the black market a stronger service value. May be, Nigerians will open financial institutions abroad where Naira will be sold to business entities coming to Nigeria-abi? jcflex: 7 Likes |

/ I take dollar bills to Nigeria. So they should take naira bills to their countries, find a bureau d' change and do the needful. But wait. The amount of money involved would be wired out only. Does it mean the banks' computers are down? The airlines should just be honest and say that Nigeria wahala don tire them...from adulterated Jet A1 to possible disembark with ladder in the near future. Who knows? It could be ropes like the marines next time. I don't blame them. / 5 Likes |

IamDejman:You got it twisted bro.it's the fault of the CBN gov it would be worthy of note that the Airlines are more than happy to bank their mo eye in Nigeria but what happens if they want to withdraw it in their country try?do Nigeria have the dollar equivalent as back up to remit it's equivalent abroad ?this is the problem. How do they pay taxes in their host countries?we are now spreading our problem to involve them and all they did was to involve in Biz.Someone here predicted that this will drive away investors see.if the likes of Air France. Lift hand a and km plus Delta vacate Nigeria the air fare will skyrocket. What we need is to devalue the Naira not these artificial and non sustainable approach the CBN gov is employing And to see you got 7 likes n shares on your post shows how backward and ill informed our youths are. 4 Likes |

IamDejman: Which youth? You forget that you all have the same jacked up mentality. It is not about the old and the new. It is about the way Nigerian's think in general. Classic example is Ben bruce. He is well travelled and somewhat enlightened. But because he has stayed in Nigeria too long, his mentality is now questionable. There is a mental problem in Nigeria that will take generations to weed out. 9 Likes |

erico2k2:/ Yeah right. Tell the banks to pay N2b into my local bank account. I will notify the States Department of the legitimacy of the transaction, get security clearance against money laundering and I will fly the dollars equivalent into Nigeria in duffle bags the same way GEJ flew $14m into South Africa. There you have it. / 1 Like |

The truth must be told, we need hardship first before things will become normal again. These people crying about change of doing things in this country (business men, politicians and agencies) are evil people. Let's do things the way it should be done. 5 Likes |

Good.....let our local airlines start taking their place sharp sharp.....what happened to arik and co?? we don't need the foreign ones. wise CEOs of local airlines should see this as an opportunity to develop and make more profit from international flights since there will be reduced foreign airlines doing it for us...... For the first time I am supporting emefiele's move. 1 Like |

We have been all these years patching Nigeria up, deceiving everyone. Now Nigeria needs to be rebuilt totally, that's the reason its a tad difficult. A house that took about 20 years to destroy and bring to its knees is expected to be rebuilt to full splendour in 8 months? Like seriously? God is with Nigeria and this country is on the path to recovery. I know that. May God help the president and his crew, in no time the nay-sayers shall be confounded and would forever hold their peace. God bless Nigeria. 4 Likes |

The CBN governor should take the bull be the horn and devalue.not to allow free fall 1 Like |
