cantona2015:Clearly the date was an error so be proactive and volunteer the info the moment u are asked purpose of trip. As for likely questions, you yourself will have to take the transcripts u have seen and think outside the box. U know your job and duties so think of likely questions. Whether you are a doctor or mason, whatever ur job the transcripts are usually related if not same for conferences |

Ggee:Yes,my intention is to migrate, the thing is that am at a fixed right now which I can not really discuss here. I already checked the process and it appears to be a very lengthy one and money is involved too and it's going to keep me at home longer which is what am trying to prevent as my dad is already reminding me that I need to move out and start life.. Amongst other things. Am just looking for an alternative other than going to Ghana to write the exam and them send cv and wait for another God knows how long. As for my stay and convation of the visa, someone in Maryland told me if am able to crossover, the convention can be achieved. Above all, I just want to move out of the house. |

LadyGuinivere: Thanks LadyGuinivere Do, you mean I should tell the cconsular about the mistake even before being asked of my intended date of arrival ? |

nefertitiram:Sorry, am a guy ooi know about Canada and UK but the reason I chose USA was because I have someone on ground, so starting up won't be so tough for me with regards to all the crazy bills. He is a citizen. He actually suggested me marrying one lady like that but I turned it down. Am not looking for citizenship I just want to make money, get my PhD and come back home to impact my society. I still love naija Please for duration of visa do explain to me how it works, it seems am missing out something and am never tired of learning. Thanks |

kessel: Someone advised you poorly. If you were to enter the US on a B1/B2 tourist visa you would not be allowed to work. You would especially not be able to work as a registered nurse. The process may be lengthy to immigrate, but failure to go through the proper channels most often results in folks being banned from the U.S. for several years. 1 Like |

cantona2015: If you can pass a job interview as a qualified journalist, then a visa interview shouldn't be your problem. All you have to do is convince the VO, in fact I like to throw them off balance. Your purpose of travel and where you will stay must be valid. Your job responsibilities is also important and must be well defined, It can determine the outcome of your visa and most applicants get it wrong from here. Lots of qualified applicants get intimidated sighting the VO hence the rejection in many cases. You'll even see applicants twisting tongue (phonetic) just to sound like a white man. It's very wrong in my own opinion. Be natural and truthful because a VO can smell some lies from 500m. Comport yourself to the interview and explain concisely to the visa officer your intended date of arrival in the US which is different from what you have in your application. This is considered an honest mistake and not fraud or wilful misrepresentation. They have a way of correcting it in their system. Best of luck. 5 Likes |

kessel: I see that you pay no attention or you choose not to listen to any one because you are set on your own ways. You only listen to your friends in states not even knowing their true conditions in states. I will not repit what every other wounderfull nairalanders have said to you. Do it your self together with yourfriends in states. Why don't you ask them the questions you ask here. You are mispresenting if given a visa, and that is why a lot of Nigerians find it difficult to get visas this days more those with genuine reasons. Do not like saying negative things but am disappointed. Good Luck. 1 Like 1 Share |

cozybunch: Common to do research, mba! With his nursing license in Nigeria he can make headways if he follows the RIGHT CHANNEL. It's not impossible. Ask the right questions, follow the right path, in a few years, it will fall through, but Noooooo! It's to follow strange advice |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by kessel: 4:58pm On Dec 29, 2015 |
LadyGuinivere:I think am still being misunderstood. There are somethings I won't be able to explain here but my intention is not to just convert or abscond. I would want to write this exam in the USA because of availability of the study materials over there and and tutorials which I can't find in Nigeria. even if I will have to come back and wait after writing, I don't mind. If the exam won't work, please help me with an alternative option |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by kessel: 5:08pm On Dec 29, 2015 |
cozybunch:Please go through my posts before judging me as misrepresenting and saying I listen to friends in state, if I do I wouldn't be here asking questions and seeking clarification. I am very much away of the options available, am only seeking of one that would save me money and time especially. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by cozybunch: 5:24pm On Dec 29, 2015 |

kessel: Please am not o boy, may be old enough to be your father. That some of us are in nairaland to give advise does not give you right to Insult. I gave a legitimate advise, borrowed money or not. You know how much I owe on students loan years ago and now, not yet done with that. You are telling me borrowed money. Please if you don't have any other thing to say, give others the opportunity to ask there questions Good Luck 3 Likes |

*urgent-stuck in Canada **** Today, Dec 30 2015 after spending the holidays with our family in Montreal my wife and step children were denied reentry into the United States because I was honest that my children were enrolled in school in New Jersey. We are in the process our I 430, I 864, and ds-260 visa completions. Our petition has been approved and we are awaiting final interview. We have gone in and out of the country several times the last few months and always been forthcoming about our pending visa status. However today the CBP denied my family entry for the simple fact that I stated that my children go to high school in New Jersey now. Please note that we have custody of our children, I am a US citizen, and despite that they are Canadians living in the US our employers and source of income are also Canadian. My wife files taxes here and I file my 1099 annually. Meaning that to our knowledge we are not breaking any labor laws. Im a US citizen paying taxes which cover the associated costs of my childrens schooling. Additionally we are legally married in both countries and therefore have filed the I430 transfer Alien Relative visa application. Therefore they are technically still tourists going in and out of the country within the allowable time frame. I am going to the US consulate in Montreal tomorrow on an emergency basis to get my family back in the country but need any and all advice as to how I can accomplish this successfully. Thanks 1 Like |

Acarneirojr: They are still considered as visitors in united states hence their migrant petition is not finalized. Yes with their canadian status they are allowed into u.s for 180 days within a year. That they go back and fort within their time visa allows them does not mean they can't be stoped if they find something. Remember they are not suppose to leave in the u.s but they do have visiting rights as canadian. I only see you finish the pending application and have them come in as residence. The denier is flaged already, you just need to finish up the process. Good Luck |

fredoricko: Thank you for your response prof. Sole aim of traveling is for a visit(bday party). But I don't wanna go wasting money since 3 people are involved here. I didn't get this statement "But if you ask me, two adults with no ties to Nigeria save a family business is not so much of an advantage. All the same read the thread properly ( part 1 and 2) and advice them thusly." Pls explain ! Thanks |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 8:19am On Dec 30, 2015 |
Udiboy:In simple english, he said he dosent think they have ties, however read the thread and foorm ur own conclusion and advice them. @kessel (new year LadyG. Speaking now) dont take it out on cozybunch. We all have problems BUT it is not an excuse to do the wrong thing. Lemme break down their advice for u. 1. U stand a VERY good chance of getting an F1 visa (as well as a canadian visa) 2. U need to research well . We are not the ones that will do the hard work for u. After that, ask informed questions on the appros thread. 3. It will take time but its worth it. Going by corner corner can lead to snags. (Read above the story of the guy just denied entry) 4. (This is me now) u possibly don't think its ok for people to give u advice on illegalities I wish say na nursing I study sef! I for be hot cake in canada, us, australia. Tap the resource u have. Don't be misled |
