If you follow the transport company I made mention of earlier u won't be stressed at the boarders. All you need to do is obey any instruction you are given. The only way you can land yourself in trouble is when you refuse to follow instruction or you carry a contraband goods.

Ok, I don't really thought about that. May be next time I visit Ghana again.

For those intending to travel to Ghana this festive period, I learnt ABC transport is giving discount in ticket fares to intending travelers, just got the message from them.

Please can I travel through ABC without passport to Ghana and what are the likely consequences I might face.

I have already promised my wife and children that we would do our Valentine in Accra but its only me that have passport.

Yes you can, but you will have to pay more. But you are going to provide a means of identification, such as national identity card, voters card etc at the point of boarding.

Bigs up Otunba, kindly give a brief but details description of the cozy hotel u stayed while in Ghana. How far from d ABC park......u still made it to d hotel at your arrival (12:45am)?

You can get an hotel in Accra from 4k upward depending on the facilities of the hotel. Internet subscription I tell you is very cheap. Ghanaians has varieties of food don't be scared you will enjoy your meals. I will advice if you are traveling by road go with ABC transport or EFEX executive.

Sorry about that, you can tell a cab that he should take you to britainia hotel at circle, also opposite it there is another one called yas hotel also at circle they are both affordable not up to 5k convert to naija money feel free to ask more questions. But yas hotel is more better also note that circle is like center of Accra so everywhere in Accra is easier to go from there. Also ABC station is like three bus stops away from circle, cab will take you about 5 ghc, (#250).Thanks for reading

Ok, as for the yellow card. U will get it at the state hospital close to toll gate on your way to the Lagos international airport ikeja. It's a yellow building on the left facing the toll gate if coming through Ikeja along. Ask the gateman that you came for yellow fever vaccination, you will be directed.

sorry have not been online for sometime. Yes the hotel is very close to Abc park. I won't mention the name of the hotel cos am not paid for advertisement. But I will describe it, the hotel is on your way to Ghana telecom university at the left side very close to I think police college or something. It's not far for caprice( ABC park). Use your discreation you will get. The color of the hotel is white and it's a storey building.

Then hotel should not be a barrier to you if you are really serious. I found that hotel that same night I got to Accra and there are better hotels around. Pls do your finding.

Since u aren't coming for business u can take the money u wanted to spend over there along with you. then at the Togo boarder u have opportunity to change your money to cedis or u change it at tudu in Accra.
Those countries will stamp your passport at their respective boarder. Make sure u travel with those transport company so that they can supervise and assist in stamping your passport while u relax and cool off yourself.

That is just it, he already supplied you with all the information you need. You are welcome to Ghana one of the most peaceful country in the world

@OP: I was also in Accra last month stayed at Pink Hostel, Assylum down. You are talking as if your country is crap! I saw police officers collecting bribe in daylight, so stop posting this stuff as if they're not corrupt.

Have answer this before at the beginning of the thread. Use any ID card available but you will have to pay more for transportation.

How on earth won't you have an identification card, not even student ID, please go and do one for yourself. If a policeman stop you how will u identify yourself? You aren't working, you aren't learning a trade, you aren't schooling too? Your case need divine intervention.

It's very cheap, its really below what I had expected initially, although the fare varies depending on your circumstances. If u have a passport only without yellow card u pay a different fee, passport with yellow card you also pay a different fee. First time traveller on a virgin passport u pay different fee too.
I travel with my passport and yellow card and I pay #17,000. If I will be traveling again I will pay #15,000 for to and fro ticket.

Ghana is a friendly country; most of the people there are extra friendly.
I just returned from a 3-day sight seeing of Ghana & Cotonou with my family.
We stayed at Princeway hotel (just directly opposite ABC transport office at Caprice). Caveat, the hotel lacks fumigation coz it was invested with MOSQUITOES. Despite d fact that I normally travel with Insecticide coz I can't stand d "buzzing" of mosq., couple of them still find means of disturbing our sleep. (I actually gave fumigation idea to d hotelier- Joseph). It was a 60Gc (#4,080) room. We paid extra 20Gc for an extra bed.
I was lucky to hv a God-sent cab guy; he took us to every where we went ( Hill More Plaza where d bigger Shoprite is, MRP and Labadi beach). He came to pick us as early as 5:18am d day we left.
My advise to any one who want to go to Ghana is to follow a recognized transport coy. Doing so will save u a lot of money and stress.
We followe ABC to but decided to follow local transport coming from Ghana to Cotonou based on d fact that ABC wouldn't allow "lapping" of our 2kids by me & wiffy and we aren't ready to pay for 4 people.
ABC offer us 205gc ticket each (stamping inclusive) but we boarded at 185gc inTudu (exclusive of stamping) and paid for 2. However, payments at d Aflao (Ghana & Togo) border and payment at Kodji (Togo & Benin) & d altercations wit d immigration officers especially d Togo side of Aflao, almost make it equate wat ABC offered us.
We have a hell of stress wit language barrier with d okada boys inside Cotonou. Once they know u are Nigerian, they are ready to collect their own share of d "oil" money. We bought a 150cl of bottled water for 600F (#300 almost, Coz 1150F equals #500) only to buy same water at 400F in d hotel we lodged.
Leaving Cotonou to Nigeria, we paid 1,500F for a ticket from "John Kay" motor park Cotonou - Mile2. We gave d driver extra #1,500 to stamp our 4ppspt at d Seme (Benin exit side) and told him I will handle d Nigerian side of d immigration; Cos he requested for #3,000 each ppspt.
At the Nigerian border, a health official who speak same language with me asked for our vaccine cards (we collected at d Ghana Aflao for 30Gc each for me & wife only) and said we will pay #500 each for "another" vaccine not ticked in d card. I simply told him that only if she can pay for me coz I hv no kobo on me or wait for my 'next' visit to d border. She just smiled and waived us bye.
While entering d immigration kiosk where our ppspt will be stamped, I gv each of my kids their individual ppspt to hold and put them in front. As soon as we entered, d atmosphere became cool and without delay d imm guy collected all our passports, registered it and stamped! But out of my benevolence, I gave him #900 wich he collected without any words to me but bidding my daughter farewell. I was curious, but kept calm. Immediately I turned to joined my family entourage, a lady on another desk in the same kiosk beckoned on us to come over. she collected our passports and registered in a hard-back note book. After she finished d recording, she then announced the bombshell, "you will pay #2,000 each for your wife & your passports. The children don't need to pay". I simply told her that if Ghana,Benin & Togo immi exploited me for entering their country, I shld not face same treatment entering my country.........besides, I'm broke due to 'their' exploitation. I gave gave her a thousand naira and she gladly collected.
The story outside that kiosk; just a few meters is another funny experience.
In all, It was fun all through for my kids but not so for my pocket. Lol

@nairacountry, you really get mind. You mean u went through those stress with your kids and wife ? You were very lucky your bags weren't snatch by those tout at seme boarders. And with all the boarder to boarder transport you took u have even spend beyond what abc will collect from you. Am imagining those bus u took at tudu aren't even AC buses neither do they serve you any food in the bus, mean while ABC ticket is breakfast and lunch inclusive. Next time just go through ABC transport you will be glad u did.
Although ABC doesn't run faster but u won't have feeling cos there are movies and comedy to keep u laughing, and lucky you if u have to sit with someone that compliment you, then you will both laugh on each other shoulder till u get to your destination. Honestly I enjoy my trip to and fro Accra Ghana.

You can travel without any ID just that you will pay more whenever I am travelling, I always see people without any form of ID
