At the Lagos Fuel Subsidy Debate held in 2012, former CBN governor and current Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi explained several things wrong with how the Nigerian government was run. He in particular was against the fuel subsidy which costs Nigeria over 1 trillion naira yearly. He dropped facts and numbers and also predicted the implication of oil prices falling and Nigeria not growing its foreign reserves. Sadly many of his predictions then have come true today

I always go back to that video. Well it was obvious the oil charade wouldn't last long. It's a commodity, prices go up and down till its no longer worth trading.

But we were not convinced in that debate. Now that we are in power, we have a better understanding.

He is not without his own fault in the whole mess.

He was also advised to devalue the naira back then, but he used all manner of sophistry to discredit the advise. He continued throwing the foreign reserve at 'defending' the naira.

And now we are in a much 'hotter soup' than we were then.

And then he is now a 'converted advocate' of naira devaluation.

He was right then. But he and NOI knew that the world was already in depression and did not know what to recommend as panacea for Nigeria. They made GEJ wallow in foreign economic subterfuge, the result of which we are now suffering. He and she should just come out with solution to help PMB.

If she has the solution, she would have implemented it.
