This is a paradox. What you've done is criminal. No one has the right to violate the other person in such a manner. Conversely, you have prevented your friend from contracting HIV. What your friend needs to do is ask the girl to go and check her HIV status. This is because, as some people may have already suggested, she may not even know her status. Knowing her status would not only enable her to look after herself, but also prevent her from spreading the disease - except she knowingly wishes to do so which is criminal. The moral of this story - trust no one.

Quick question.. Can you trust the OP with your life?

Not as a friend now cos you obviously don't know each other, but as a patient since he claims to be a health worker- doctor or lab scientist or warreva.

Can you allow him as a midwife to take the delivery of your wife in a setting such as ours where women share rooms and husbands are not allowed in the delivery room. Can you be fully convinced he didn't swap your baby for whatever justifiable reason.

Can you be sure that as a nurse he won't give you a lethal injection because you've ever betrayed his family?

Do you think he can swap your lab results with his brother's own because yours appear better and his brother has to travel abroad for job opportunities?

I ask again, can you really trust the OP to do what is right for you as a neutral patient.

She has the right not to disclose her status unless she wants to. She just must make sure not to infect her partner. I had a patient who died of AIDS, she told me not to tell her parents, and I didn't. I just counseled her to tell them herself and educated her on treatments and not spreading it.
I won't argue with you, but obviously you don't know consequences of what he did.

But what other admission of guilt do you seek other than that from the horse's mouth? The only thing to do is to find the victim, as we all also know the crime scene.
If no victim can be identified, then alas, its probably just a figment of the OPs imagination probably to generate a discourse.

I agree with you to some extent. The only reason I had faulted your initial argument is your concern for the girl's right more than a generation of person that would have gotten infected by the scourge if this singular act hadn't taken place.
My sister, I am a guy and please take it from me on a good authority, every guy will value a woman who can say " stop, wear a condom or I am out". That tells him that when she is with another guy, she be protective and thus safeguard his life. When a guy is not initiating to do it with a condom, girl, suspect him: he is either planning something or he is not "exposed". Ha! me I no fit take that risk o, even if it is a free ride.
