Hello house, I'd like to sit for the june 2016 exam. Does anyone know if B.sc is a compulsory requirement.

I also made findings that the center is in ghana and a valid int'l passport is required.

Can anyone update me on the nitty-grittys? Thanks

Oh well... My files are too large. Quite recently, someone on this thread offered to share his books at Ikeja Mall or so, I'm not sure. If you're in Lagos, you might consider taking his offer. Or buy the books... Or register for the exam.
Which is the best material to prepare with for a L1 candidate. Your mentorship will be highly appreciated.

I know its important. my question is, Is it a prerequisite for applying for the programme? since there is an indication that undergraduates i.e those in final year can also apply for the L1 exam.

I'm about to apply for the june2016 exam but i'm awaiting clearance in school. Is it advisable i apply?

Thanks for the response.

Mentorship ke? Lol. It depends on the amount of time you have to spare and your background. I had a lot of time, so I used Schweser and the Curriculum. People pass Level 1 studying with just Schweser. Some people (not a lot) prefer the Curriculum. Just have a look at both, with the knowledge that you can pass studying either of them, then choose.

By background I mean the course you studied in University. One that studied a Finance related course might find it a bit easier to understand the course content. You can always get the Schweser books for free online. You might have to do a lot of searching on the internet. The way to go about it is to just get someone that has them to send them to you.

Exam fees range from $650 to $1280. $650 for when you register earliest and $1280 for when you register latest. On first registration, you pay a $400 reg fee. On registration, you get materials from the CFA Institute that might be enough to prepare you for each examination, should it not be enough for you, you might incur additional costs to get materials and for tutorial classes, considering that there are no exam centres in Nigeria, you will incur transportation cost to your preferred exam location.

Can your share your advice on reading from the system or otherwise and possible general study skills you've adapted that work.

Retention of studied content considering the bulkiness of the materials. how do you couple with that?

Best thing is for you to find what works for you, I've had the luxury of time while studying for both levels. So I've always been able to go through the curriculum and use Schweser where the curriculum is verbose and confusing, and solve MANY exam-like questions under exam conditions - sort of.
Make a note while studying so you will be studying your notes when you're done with the curriculum or whatever third party material you're using. Helps. Generally, whatever study skills you've adapted yourself to in University should suffice.

About retention, continuous application of learned material will help. Also, the contents overlap - sort of; you will need what you've learned in some areas in others.
