Business Insider,
If you’re planning on pursuing a career as a
software engineer or developer in the near future,
you probably won’t have to worry about finding a
job — no matter where in the world you live.
These are the most in-demand professionals right
now, according to a new report from Michael
Page , a specialist recruitment company. The team at Michael Page recently decided to find out which jobs were most in-demand in 24 different countries around the world. They gathered this information by looking at the official occupation shortage lists published by national governments of countries in the OECD Better Life Index. So below are the 10 most in demand jobs: 1. Software Engineers A software engineer is a person who applies the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers or anything containing software work. 2. Nurse Nursing is a profession within the health care sector focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. Nurses may be differentiated from other health care providers by their approach to patient care, training , and scope of practice . Nurses practice in a wide diversity of practice areas with a different scope of practice and level of prescriber authority in each. 3. Mechanical Engineers Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing , and maintenance of mechanical systems . It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery . It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines . 4. Electrical Engineers Electrical engineers typically hold a degree in electrical engineering or electronic engineering. Practicing engineers may have professional certification and be members of a professional body. Such bodies include the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (professional society) (IET). 5. Doctors A medical doctor (also called a physician ) is a person who practices medicine to treat illness and injuries. Medical doctors go to medical school to be trained. They usually hold a college degree in medicine . Medical doctors used to make house calls to treat patients at home. Now they usually see patients in their offices or in hospitals . Medical doctors may also work for schools, companies, sports teams, or the military. Medical doctors are often assisted by nurses or other staff. 6. Civil Engineers Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. 7. IT data analysts Analysis of data is a process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information , suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision- making. Data analysis has multiple facets and approaches, encompassing diverse techniques under a variety of names, in different business, science, and social science domains. 8. Accountants An accountant is a practitioner of accounting or accountancy, which is the measurement, disclosure or provision of assurance about financial information that helps managers, investors, tax authorities and others make decisions about allocating resources. 9. Engineering Managers Engineering Management is a specialized form of management that is concerned with the application of engineering principles to business practice. Engineering management is a career that brings together the technological problem- solving savvy of engineering and the organizational, administrative, and planning abilities of management in order to oversee complex enterprises from conception to completion. 10. Psychologists A psychologist is a professional who evaluates and studies behavior and mental processes. Typically, psychologists must have completed a university degree in psychology, which is a master’s degree in some countries and a doctorate in others (e.g., United States, Canada and United Kingdom). |

mccoy47:History and archaeology sound archaic. Most institutions has converted it to "History & Diplomacy","History & Int'l studies" or "History & Int'l relations. Well,anybody can study history. But what Op indicated up there are professional courses that require rigorous and intensive training...and not just essay and theory. #NoBeef |
