DeviIhimself:this is the press release on the case, i'm quoting a small portion The Chief Magistrate Shauibu Usman, in a ruling yesterday discharged and acquitted Kanu of all criminal charges brought against him by the Department of Security Service (DSS). Usman's ruling is inline with the request by the DSS to drop the charges against the Biafran activist in order to enable them pursue his trial at the higher court for terrorism. The DSS had argued that the Magistrate Court lacked the jurisdiction, since they have obtained the Federal High Court (FHC) order to detain him for 90 days based on terrorism charges. If u read well, u will see kanu was discharged because DSS dropped their case against him. DSS decided to go to a higer court to get permission to hold kanu 4 90, the case is now beyond d juridiction of d magistrate court and d dss is going to a higer court with a new charge of terrorism. 2 Likes |

Amitex: And the same man claiming saintly status now also committed treason wen he incited his followers to violence in 2011 and also threatened blood of baboon and dogs. But no! That is not treasonable felony, its his fundamental right of expression! Mtschewww! Hypocrisy of the highest sort. @Tonyebarcarnista, I get it that you do not like Mr. kanu, in fact I believe you hate him with a passion as demonstrated in the past by your posts, but separate sentiments from your judgements and you'd try to see more clearly. I only blame GEJ for not arresting the mad man from Daura in 2011. He was just tring to let peace reign. |

Let him be, don't knock his hustle. He will first try to sound like he is a fair judge, then the leftist leanings will blossom from there. Hustle on bro! |

TonyeBarcanista: One thing about you is, you are not a lawyer, you know nothing about the law, the only thing you do is come here with your uninformed and irrelevant opinions. Now who said the court has freed Dasuki or Kanu? No one said so. What the legal counsel of this two are staking for is a bail application which is a fundermental right of every one. Whatever trail or case can continue after the court has granted them bail to gain their freedom and still continue the case. Just 2 days agoe Bill Cosby in the U.S. Was granted bail for allegedly raping over 40women through his life, court granted him bail of 1 million dollars and he was released. Did the court say they won't continue the trail? No. When we come as informed people and celebrate the president sitting in a media chat and convicting people based on a crime that has not been convicted by the court of law is a total slap on the Judiciary and one which the Judges must resist or else they loose their relevance. In the mind of Bihari he won't accept anything other than the conviction of the two said people which is absolutely wrong and cannot be accepted. Everyone must have faith in the courts as they are the only recognized institution for convicting a suspect. People are out to celebrate the media chat of such where no serious issue was given a serious answer, for Nigerian residents, it is a shame the way we let passion and sentiments out law reason and due process. 1 Like |

TonyeBarcanista: Kanu was unconditionally released by the high court on the 16th of December. His Lawyer, armed with this court ruling went the next day to the DSS office to effect Kanu's release. He was denied access to his client. The DSS then filed fresh charges against Kanu on the 21st which meant that Kanu was illegally detained for 4 days. Against this backdrop, we have a president who went on air not only to support the flouting of court judgements but also to turn into judge, jury and executioner. This is highly shameful. When we come to the law you quoted, even a lay man can see it doesn't hold any water. What exactly is "levying war"? Has Kanu actually started any armed struggle? No. Is there any terrorist activity that can be ascribed to him? No. The fact that he solicited for arms in America holds no water because to solicit for arms and to levy war are two different things. Kanu might solicit for arms, but did he get them? Did he levy war? It's like me publicly asking for guns so that I can rob a bank. If I never got the gun and I never robbed the bank, how can you then charge me for a bank robbery that never happend? Nigerians should start using their brains. As for all the inciteful comments Kanu made, his right to freedom of of speech lays them useless. 1 Like 1 Share |

I am disappointed at you, Tonyebarcanista. When the court granted Kanu bail on meeting certain conditions, and he met those conditions, there was no reason to hold him for an extra minute. When a judge asks DSS to release him verbatim, what part of that statement do you not understand. Spewing lies and half-truths on social media is very unbecoming of you. Be guided. 1 Like |

When people hail Buhari's so called anti-corruption campaign, makes me laugh. Amaechi has been probed and accused of corruption, Buhari turned deaf ear. Fashola is also accused of embezzlement, that's not news to Buhari. Silver and Audu allegedly stole billions, yet APC and Buhari forgave them and even gave them Guber tickets in Bayelsa and Kogi respectively. Bukola Saraki lied in his assets declaration form, APC only remembered this when he went against his party. I am not against anti corruption crusades, but selective persecutions, that's bullshit. 2 Likes |

Kanu isn't fighting to take over the president nor it state governor. He is fighting for the right of freedom of which he commited no treason in as much as the UNITED NATIONS have issued to them the biafrans the certificate they desire. I only pity the poor guy cause it will take the special grace of God Almighty for him to be released under this government that show no mercy. |

Forming a parallel government was not a treasonable? Making the government ungovernable for the President wasn't? preaching violence and inciting hate speech against the president in 2011 election that lead to killings of so many Nigerians and youth corps members wasn't treasonable? inciting speech by the Oba of Lagos Lagoon wasn't treasonable? juniad Mohamed hate speeches wasn't inciting? when the court used the word " release Kanu unconditionally", the judge and the court was high on weed that they no longer knew your so called constitution? An Igbo has expressed his rights it's now treason. Jail or kill Mandi Kanu if Buhari has the impetus. we the 5% shall respond accordingly this 2016. TonyeBarcanista Is a ***** of ******, a local champion and above all an **********. He and his ***** ******* can never be like the least chill in Nnamdi Kanu's home. God bless *****! |

Nnamdi Kanu case is different. Secession struggles could be deadly, so if Kanu is consumed it's a pity. But Dasuki release and re arrest does not make sense to me. He could be given house arrest, until justice is speedily served. He is human though might have taken in-human actions. 1 Like |
