End time journalist Shaka writing rubbish! The same GEJ he is praising could not fix Lagos-Ibadan expressway or Jebba-Mokwa road, among many others, for 6 years! On subsidy removal, Nigerians did not trust GEJ to manage the subsidy removal proceeds well, hence the resistance to its planned removal! They were later vindicated given the fraud and corruption that rocked SURE-P implementation, to the extent that its Chairman, Christopher Kolade resigned! Further, the rate of reduction in fuel price by Buhari government can't be based only on international crude price. Other major cost items especially freight and insurance, are badly affected by the current regime of unfavorable exchange rate. I expect the obviously cash and carry writer to get some sense, do more investigation and get more facts before comparing the rate of GEJ's fuel price reduction with that of Buhari. It is like comparing an orange with an apple!

[b] People can tolerate incompetence but not weakness - Albert Camus

GEJ lost the 2015 election because of (a) his weakness and (b) APC's mastery of propaganda

GEJ was a weak man politically, OBJ had abandoned him and he was from a minority tribe. He was desperate for a second term and was willing to let anything slide if he could get some favour. He pardoned Al Mustapha, stopped the case against the Abachas, couldn't deal with Abba Moro (David Mark's godson) or anybody else. He probably knew Dasuki was playing with our money but he didn't want to go against a prince of the caliphate. He even broke bread with Ali Modu Sheriff, the original Mr. Boko Haram, just to win favour.. The Boko Haram wahala even made matters worse
In the end he failed, because trying to please everybody leads you to pleasing nobody.

APC and their propaganda were the worst thing to happen to our system. Everything you see online or in the media is some form of propaganda. APC excel at this. I remember when Fashola was making GEJ look stupid for reducing the fuel price by 10naira. Nigerians hailed Fashola then, now I hope the dust in our eyes is clearing a bit. Mr Lai is very good at his job, he understands the power of the media in shaping public opinion.
During the elections, we all saw a large group of people in a control room tapping away at computers, those are the e-warriors who can shape online media with their 1million retweet on twitter and likes on Nairaland.

But APC will not stop at propaganda. Since Lai 'Comical Ali' Mohammed entered the seat:
-he has met with all the bloggers of repute for 'discussion'
-Aisha Buhari has met with all the social media change agents for 'dinner and discussion'

If you call a man 'thief' 365days a year, some people who know less may actually consider him a thief. During the elections, we all saw a large group of people in a control room tapping away at computers, those are the e-warriors who can shape online media with their 1million retweet on twitter and likes on Nairaland.

On the first day of the year, I couldn't but shed tears reading this article especially the parts that touched on the latest songs from Fashola and Ameachi award-winning labels.

What can we deduce from this? Nigeria has a long way to go. The same level of deceits orchestrated by the founding fathers are
still prevalent even among new breed of politicians who should know better. This country indeed needs divine intervention. These lying politicians have failed the nation.

One of the best piece I have read for a long whlie.
It will now become clear that GEJ may not be a saint, and maybe he is not as forceful, firm or hard on corruption but he indeed had a good heart, and had worked in making the country better.
Post analysis of his political strategy would show he should have heavily employed the greatest medium of propaganda quite early.
God bless this impassionate piece and maybe we will see more confessions coming from the APC government about the man GEJ.
Take a look at the top 20 economy in the world...then imagine the target of GEJ administration for 2020 for the economy.
My respect for real men like Fashola and Ameachi who have risen above partisanship and declare things as they are.
History will be kind to GEJ, a nobody, a humble fisherman from Otuoke and by far a better man by comparison in terms of patience and temperament.
My respect .

As to reduction in fuel price, crude oil price went down and GEJ reduced pump price from N97 to N87. After he left the price went down again by almost 60%, how much reduction did Buhari do? I know you are not a kid but you talk like one.

President GEJ might not have achieved a lot in SE and SS but I know he was still a great President.
APC are now in Power and can do to SE and SS what GEJ did for those up north who never really loved him. I know SE and SS don't generally love PMB.

Yes, GEJ didn't fix those roads you mentioned.
But did he construct all the roads Fashola has attributed to him?

On subsidy removal, you are being untruthful. Nigerian didn't want subsidy removal in any form. It had nothing to do with whether on not he would manage the proceeds. People didn't understand why petrol should be expensive in a country that produces oil

But that is exactly what the erudite Fashola was arguing! After all, according to Fasholanomics, if crude oil price drops by 50%, pump price should also drop by 50%

Using subsidy removal as an example, the argument now is different from those of 4 yrs ago. Now, it is glaring that with the fall in oil prices, removal of subsidy would not hurt the populace.
In the 2012 scenario, the argument was that removal would create money to fund infrastructure with the creation of SUREP. Please show us the infrastructure financed with the 50% removal (remember, subsidy was party removed) other than private constructions by the subsidy thieves and their acolytes including Thisday journalists like the writer of the editorial. Don't also forget the manner of the removal; crude was selling at record high yet those that travelled to villages were left stranded as a result of sudden pice changes.

Acknowledging the successes of a man that they called a total failure, including claiming his victories in the war against terror is a sign that the APC 4 yrs holds only one thing for Nigerians, covering deceit with more deceit.

Welcome to APC train of 'LIES EXPRESS'.
unfortunately it is too late to undo the past. Now Nigerians have someone that will inflict pain and sorrows in their lives all in the name of change while his cronies and party members enjoys the nation wealth to the fullest.

Very correct, I love your quote which best describes your able dictator Buhari.
How much was pump price of PMS when OBJ came into power? Why did he increase the price, how old were you when fuel was sold @ N21/ltr? Was it GEJ that increased it from there to 97? What was the reason behind all the increments in the pump price of pms? Ask your uncle to explain to you then you'll even know on your own the reason for that fuel subsidy removal in 2012.Don't dabble into what is older than you.
