Hello guys, happy new year. Reporting live from Regina. Journey was smooth but stressful. Flew Ethiopian airline from Abuja. Had four hrs layover in Addis ababa, 1hr in Dublin, about 8hrs in Toronto Had no problems passing through customs and immigration in Abuja. They were very professional . They were smiling and wished me a great trip. No problems with immigration and customs in Toronto. Just declare the kind of food you are carrying in the customs card. Immigration asked for school fees receipt but I didnt have. So i showed her the customer duplicate copy of the form A I used in making transfer. Told her the funds have not arrived the school yet. Goodluck to everybody waiting for their visas and safe journey to those travelling. Cheers Edited: If you already have an adrress in canada of where you will be staying ( including a hotel address) you can get your SIN at the airport 11 Likes 1 Share |

Vblossom: Hello I dont think international students are allowed to study part time in Canada. I tried searching for information on whether international students wishing to study part time will be granted study permit but no concrete info. You will have to do more research to confirm if that is possible. (cc thesoj siga ) But please note that in any case, international students studying part time are not allowed to work either on or off campus http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-oncampus.asp Cheers 1 Like |

AdexStudio: Simply contact where you did the upfront medical to resend your medicals. Contact the CIC and tell them that you did an upfront medical (quote the Number on the medicals Slip). Send an Email to them. |

Thanks @ Louissylva MY other question is I Learnt on this trend that VO dont give Visa for part time studies. i have a bachelor degree in Nursing. am applying to CONESTOGA COLLEGE. Graduate Certificate in Critical and Critical Care Nursing. NOTE; The course is only available in part time for international student. The such course in full time for international student What should i do in this case? Should i go ahead or apply to another school. Again, is Graduate certificate same thing as Post graduate diploma? |

Helo, pls the gurus in the house I need your advice, i'm a graduate of accounting in Nija and I want to do my PGD in accounting or business administration in canada. I already found out 2 colleges that are not too expensive where I can do it selkirk college or northern light college both in BC. but I don't know which one to choose because I like the PGD in accounting in selkirk college which is also gd for visa and there are plenty Nigerian there, but at the same time I learnt 4rm this thread that it is located in a small village there are little or no part time jobs for student. on the other hand NLC(northern light college) I like their PGD business administration, it is cheaper and it looks like there are better job opportunities there but i'm not sure of Nigerian students there cos I really want a place where I will meet my pple. But in all dis info I don't have direct contact I got everything from the website. Pls I need the help of those who have any info on both colleges to advise me, cos I also want to go to a place where I can get a part time job since I intend to support myself. |

Vblossom:If u are so passionate abt d course u shld refine ur search for schools dat offer it full time to international students, if nt u go for an optional course dat is full time den wen u get der u can switch courses. Graduate cert is nt d same tin as PGD. A graduate certificate(GradCert, GCert, GradC) is a higher education qualification at the same level as a bachelor's degree but more limited in scope, taking less time to complete - this might be a year, or as little as one term or semester. A postgraduate diploma on the other hand (PGDip, PgDip, PG Dip., PGD, PgD, PDE) is a postgraduate qualification awarded typically after a bachelor's degree. 2 Likes |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by EmmaMsc(m): 8:50am On Jan 02, 2016 |
freezingus: Hello It is not compulsory you show school fees receipt (a nairalander travelling with me didnt show it). I only showed the form A because she specifically asked me for it. What you need to show is "proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-arriving.asp) For that I think bank statements will suffice. I had my bank statements with me. I would have shown that if she had asked. Cheers |

York university is 40mins away from me.. You can apply for student visa from the States.. If you going for undergrad, post grad or msc, your study permit will surely state you eligible to work. Very best you'd be allowed QueenOfQueens: |
