....Your are so right,NL is simply a reflection of the attitude of the average Nigerian...so rude,aggressive and extremely quick to throw insults at the slightest provocation.

Some, it is their attitude. Some people have a bad attitude online and off-line that they cannot control themself privately or even in public to the extent of taking such attitude online.

¤ Attention/Recognition:
This one is very common here. Some just want to gain online Recognition by being or claiming rude thereby saying all sort unfriendly words against others even themselves just to attract attention other party.

This category are Plenty here. They are the people who just want others to LIKE their comment. Some will even be insulting their parents, themselves even the owner of the Forum so that their 'Bed of the same feathers' will LIKE their comment/post even when they know it's wrong. .
¤ Selfishness
Why some don't even know or practice Online-Etiqutte, they can't even create threads but they always see where people make grammatical error, instead of correcting with love, the right way, they will just post/comment on Thread harshly/rudely and insultingnot minding how it can hurt other people their words are unloving, and their rudeness are 'direct' forgetting that what you write online stays online.

This ones cannot just control their hot temper, they become hot just because someone 'Oppose' their opinion they will just start Insulting or Replying with unwholesome words that will make others to start derailing peoples thread.
And the truth is that their Hot Temper cannot even Iron any shirt talkless of boiling water.
Truly speaking, this things ought not be so, lets try to control ourselves because Rudeness On and Off-line, it's never a good thing virtue. I imploy us to be more friendly online, show and express love everywhere in this New Year and lets Bury the old-wrong attitude of ours. To whom this thread is rebuking now, have a change of heart and lets STOP saying the Right things the Wrong way.

I agree with you on this being a general attitude of our people, but I feel it is somehow worse online if only we know how far simple courtesy can take us, ignorance is bad.

Most do it to get attention to themselves and for some it gives them a kind of elation so dont pay them any attention

I guess because keyboard courage makes them feel better about themselves. I get these rude comments from time to time and I'm just trying to help to the people I'm posting to.
