How is it an achievement if it never materialized? Despite removing 32naira from every litre in January 2012, subsidy payments still increased and today we are even owing.
Obiano Inspects Ongoing Work At The 2nd Niger Bridge
Governor Obiano has urged Julius Berger plc, the firm handling the construction of the second Niger bridge to expedite action in order to meet the time schedule for the project.Governor Obiano made the statement while inspecting work on the bridge at the Onitsha industrial layout end of the site. He expressed happiness that work has actually commenced at the site contrary to speculation that nothing is happening at the site.
Make sure to include the current administration in any current Federal Government 'achievement'. The past administration did very little on the much touted 2nd Niger bridge, it easily passed off for a political gimmick. Buhari can easily stop any Federal Government project, he stopped the Lagos Railway in 84, remember? So if anything substantial is ongoing, share the credit right.

IMF Executive Board Concludes 2014 Article IV Consultation with Nigeria Press Release No. 15/91 March 4, 2015
On February 27, 2015, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded the Article IV consultation1 with Nigeria. Nigeria has a large and diverse economy that has achieved a decade of strong growth, averaging 6.8 percent a year, and now accounts for 35 percent of Sub-Saharan Africa’s gross domestic product (GDP). Inflation has remained in single digits for two years, and the banking sector, which has a strong capital base, is expanding credit. The trade surplus has been declining since the second quarter of 2013 on lower oil exports and continued strong growth of imports, and gross international reserves have been falling. Meanwhile, the general government fiscal deficit and public debt have been kept low. However, Nigeria still lags its peers in critical infrastructure and has high rates of poverty and income inequality. While the economy is diverse, with services accounting for over 50 percent of GDP in 2013, and oil only 13 percent, the oil sector remains a critical source for revenue and foreign exchange. With limited fiscal and external buffers ($2 billion in the excess crude account and $34.25 billion in gross international reserves, respectively at the end of 2014), the sharp decline of oil prices in the second half of 2014 underscores the challenging but compelling need to address remaining development challenges. The authorities have responded to a sharp decline in oil prices. On February 18, 2015, the Central Bank of Nigeria closed the Dutch Auction System (rDAS) window, unifying the rDAS rate with interbank foreign exchange market rate. On February 25, 2015, the Senate approved the third revision to the 2015 budget, tightening the fiscal envelope by lowering the budget benchmark oil price to $52/barrel.

Rubbish, it is just six months. Too early to say all this rubbish, especially against the background that GEJ left Nigeria in SHAMBLES as at May 29, 2015. 1. There is a level of continuity in government, nobody says any government does not do ANYTHING good. The question is, did they do ENOUGH, especially with the resources available. Am sure you do not want good things to be scrapped/cancelled for ntothing. 2. GEJ government scammed the country with the very huge subsidy they agreed to pay. We are still paying their debts and renegotiations have to be legally done, which is ongoing. Subsidy has always been since the 80s, it is the figures in the past 5years that have been unbelievable. 3. The Professor has a right to freedom of speech, he is not the President, and the President's mandate is 4years AT LEAST, not 6 months. Within that six months, we have bought fuel nationwide for 87naira/litre for at least 3 of the months, this was a feat that was a mirage and rocket science under GEJ. 4. Who are thise who claimed GEJ went to Chad to plan attacks who visited Chad? 5. The past government agricultural policies yielded little overhyped dividends. Nigeria is not close to feeding itself talkless of exporting as should be the touted case. Our people still have vested interest in buying foreign agricultural things compared to local so what is the jubilation about? 6. WHo has dumped TSA? TSA is not GEJ or NOI's invention, it is from IMF. NOI introduced it but never implemented it. Buhari made sure it was implemented in less than 6months. He's tried to make refineries work in short time too but that one backfired, but at least he tried. If it worked, you will claim it is GEJ's achievement. 7. \Your talk about bboko haram reclaiming LGAs is a blatant lie conjured from your pocket. 8. Your lie about the Presidential fleet shows your irredeemable ignorance, i would not help you further, at least not now. More than half of the money spent was reported in the same article to be GEJ's debts, you are a shameless liar.
Lol. With oil prices virtually skyrocketting for long periods of the GEJ tenure. No lasting legacy of what we can call MOTORABLE roads. Whatshould we say of those that built the Lagos Ibadan expressway and all the expressways in the North? The third mainland bridge and other bridges of repute. The roads in the FCT and other major highways. GEJ government mainly repaired bad and neglected roads, and it's not like the repairs are to last for long, some don spoil again again. Yes, some few new roads, but nothing to pat anyone on the back for given the huge funds and opportunities available.

You obviously THINK you know more than the Ministers responsible for this area, not so
Image123: In all fairness, no one should compare and CONCLUDE the end of a over 5years recovery to a 7month work in progress.
A student who will score a worthwhile cumulative GPA during her four year course will show impressively indicative intent of such achievable goal in her first two semesters or first year, not so This federal administration with a four year mandate has been in charge for eight months now!
Bi Ojo-Abameta yio ti se ri, ati Ojo-Eti ni a tii mo -As Saturday will be, na from Friday we go know.
The CONFUSION and lack of policy initiatives that has characterised this propaganda-laden federal administration so far, is a clear sign that at the end of the next three years and four months, NONE of the promises that formed their campaign platform will be fulfilled.

The current FG is quite promising so far and we who voted them in hope they will deliver in the next couple of years. People are already returning millions. The previous FG did not recover 10naira from any living looter. You can educate us with your vast resources and pictures if otherwise.
Curiously, Government Ekpompolo a.k.a Tom Polo, who is the leader of Camp 5, has kept government and security top shots in suspense with his mode of operation. And his creed seems to be less talk and more action. Described as a focused, principled and courageous warlord, Ekpompolo is reputed to have four major camps, and his home is a Mecca of sorts for politicians as well as top government officials including some state governors in the Niger Delta. In fact, as part of the Federal Government’s search for peace in the troubled region, Vice President Goodluck Jonathan had also visited Camp 5 without any security detail, a move which ruffled feathers in military circles. And General L.P Ngubane, immediate past commander of the Joint Military Task Force in the Niger Delta did not mince words in expressing his dismay.
“It is disconcerting that Camp 5 has become a pilgrim centre for some important politicians, especially those from the Niger Delta. These constant visitations to a known criminal legalizes the activities of the militants, embolden and empower them financially and emotionally. For example, the Governors of Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta states at various times after their inauguration, visited Camp 5. Recently, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria also visited Camp 5 on June 28, 2007 without security details accompanying him just because the militants said so.”, he wrote in a memo reference TFRH/25/G, addressed to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Owoye Azazi.

Eyaaaaa....how much difference does seven months make... ....still painting...... ...posting pictures..... ....and still viewing this thread of lies after one year..... ........Jonathan defeat must have totally destroyed you.....
Now a High Chief in his Gbaramatu kingdom, Tompolo’s frail physique belies the daring spirit within. At his Camp 5 headquarters, he determines the rules of engagement. On one occasion in 2007, when Jonathan, then Vice-President, visited the camp for talks with Tompolo, his convoy and guards were strictly denied entry into the camp. Only Jonathan was said to have been allowed in.

A Newspaper that insults a former president of any country has lost whatever authority it has to explain to any sensible individual because they already appear pety and biased. Here are a few projects executed by GEJ's administration that positively contributed to the growth of our economy:
- Opening up of Nigeria to the global business community and becoming Africa’s number one destination of foreign investors. In the first six months of 2014, a total of US$9.70 billion or N1.51 trillion flowed into the national economy as foreign direct investments (FDI).
- Under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Nigeria rebased it’s GDP for the first time in over a decade to become the largest economy in Africa, overtaking South Africa and Egypt in the process.
- Proceeds from Nigeria’s non-oil exports rose to 2.97 billion by the end of 2013, up from 2.3 billion in 2010.
- Initiation of the YOUWIN program in 2011. The Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YOUWIN) program generated over 100,000 jobs for innovative unemployed youths across the country in the course of three years.
- Integrated into the international e-commerce community with the approval and reinclusion of Nigeria as one of the Paypal-compliant countries after being banned from using the service at the peak of the advanced fee fraud (419 scams). With Paypal, Nigerians can now pay for goods and services online from anywhere in the world.
- The revival of the dead automotive industry in Nigeria. Global auto giants like Peugeot, Nissan and Hyundai now either assemble or wholly manufacture small cars, Sport Utility Vehicles, trucks and buses at various locations in Nigeria. In addition to that, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM), Nigeria’s flagship indigenous automaker, begun the sale of their first made-in-Nigeria cars and SUVs in August 2014.
- Nigeria became the first country in West Africa to host the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2014. It was also the most successful World Economic Forum for Africa (WEFA) in history, boasting of a global reach of 2.1 billion people according to estimates.
- Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote’s net worth increased from US$2.1 billion at the start of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration to US$23 billion in 2014, making him Forbes’ richest black person in the world and the overall 26th richest in the world. He attributed this mammoth increase in his monetary worth to Goodluck Jonathan administration favourable economic policies.
- Construction and beautification of many federal roads in the country, including the Lagos-Benin expressway, Abuja-Lokoja expressway, Enugu-Abakiliki expressway, Onitsha-Owerri highway and most parts of the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway. Also, construction of the second Niger Bridge between Onitsha and Asaba to relieve the pressure on the old Niger Bridge which was completed in December 1965.
- Revival of the comatose railway system of transportation in the country is happening under the current Goodluck Jonathan administration.
- Remodelling, beautification and standardization of airports across the country. In addition to that, aircraft from Nigeria are now allowed to fly directly to the United States of America instead of going through many stopovers in Amsterdam and some other European cities along/in the route. The Akanu Ibiam Airport in Enugu was upgradede into an international airport, directly connecting the South-East region of the country to the outside world for the first time since independence.
- Establishment of nine federal universities across the country in states which previously had no federal degree awarding institution.
- Computerizing education in the country with the introduction of the computer-based test (CBT) which is mandatory for all UTME candidates from 2015.
- Introduction of the Almajiri system of education in the academically disadvantaged Northern parts of the country.
- Transformation of the agricultural sector, so that, in the words of Agriculture minister Akinwumi Adesina, “Nigerians will stop thinking of agriculture just as a means of livelihood, but more as a business.”
- Nigeria's food imports reduced by over 40% as of 2013, moving the country closer to self sufficiency in agriculture.
- Nigeria is the world’s largest producer of cassava with an output of over 45 million metric tonnes in 2014 according to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
- Due to favourable economic policies, Internet penetration in Nigeria has now increased from about 45 million in 2011 to 63 million in 2014, overtaking countries such as the United Kingdom and France in the process. What this means is that more people now use the internet in Nigeria than in the UK and France.
- As of the second quarter of 2014, the number of registered active telephone lines in Nigeria stood at 130 million out of a total of over 170 million telephone lines.
- Introduction of the Nigerian electronic identity card (e-ID card), one of the most secure in the world d the largest in Africa. The e-ID card serves as both an international identification module and an electronic payment solution.
- Introduction of the cashless system which aims to encourage the use of e-payment systems in the country and reduce the volume of physical cash in circulation.
Anyone who believes that economic growth can occur regardless of government favorable policies or developmental actions is rather unintelligent in my opinion.
