The average amount for a monthly internet subscription in Nigeria is 2000 Naira for 2gb of data. To download a song is averagely just 5mb of data. So to download 10 songs, its 50mb. To download 100 songs it's 500mb. To download 200songs it's 1000mb
That's half of the amount used in subscribing for the data.

This means that to download 200 songs, the average Nigerian spends just 1000 Naira, which is half of the money he would have used in purchasing 10 songs.

Now as a sensible person living in a country as economically unstable as Nigeria, would you use 2000 Naira to buy 10 songs or use 1000 Naira to download 200 songs? Even Dangote would prefer the second option.

And you aren't actually stealing, you are still paying for the songs you download.

People don't download clothes and shoes off the internet for free. You shouldn't compare something as material as clothes to something like Music. It doesn't make sense. If you could get Chanel and Versace for free off the internet, won't you do it? You that likes shopping like hell. If shoes were available for free on the internet and shopped directly to the houses of those who ordered it without incurring any charges, their won't be a fashion industry cause no one would bother making those clothes. But people still make music, and people are still downloading music for free everyday and the music industry is still growing.

No no no. It's quite the opposite to you actually. I like being able to be soft and be nice. Offline I can't really do that cause people can take advantage. I've some things that have been made public but it's like a game of Chinese whisperers no one really knows but they all assume. They all think I'd be weak and they all want to pity me or make me feel bad about decisions I've made. So I've to be all cool and tough and intimidating in a way. And here I can be vulnerable. And I like that. I've enough friends in real lol and they know I'm a softie . But it's nice to be able to do that with a larger group of people, without having to be careful. If you get me.

Yes, it's sad that people put their work into something and it gets stolen, but these musicians know all this and they still decide to go into the music industry and still remain in it. If it's anyone's fault it's theirs. But there isn't much they can do right? I mean, it's what they love to do, to some, it's all they have to do.
