Here are possible pains of the Nigerian spinster.

1. Everywhere you go, you are always asked "when are we coming to eat rice".

2. Your birthday is always nightmare. You're +1 and yet no serious relationship leading to marriage.

3. During morning and evening devotion, you are part of the prayer point.

4. Your parents and siblings prey on your salary simply because they assume you have very few responsibilities.

5. Even when you badly need a car, your family and friends would advice against such cos they feel you'd scare away potential suitors.

6. You see family and friends trying to hook you up to some dudes somewhere even against your request or wish.

7. Your aggression is simply translated to mean being a potential nagging wife. They'd always reiterate "is this how you will become a wife?".

8. You become scared of scrolling your facebook wall cos one way or the other, you'll see friends wedding pixs uploaded.

9. You become active in church activities and taking up hospitable ursher roles.

10. You become hostile to guys who just want to be your friend. Sometimes you tag them 'time wasters'.

Pls add urs!

> They eat less food to look very slim.
> They are seen as wicked; assuming that men run away from them because of their terrible character.
> The society disrespects them for being single. This causes them shame.

People will see you as frustrated and unhappy lmao. A married Lady I know was pointing out all the +40 singles in my area to me, I will never forget what she added "When I was thinking my problems are much at least I am better than all of them" In my mind I was wondering how? Her husband spends 8 mths out of 12 in another state, she tells me of numerous marital problems she is going through, so better how?!

Whenever you want. cool

2. Your birthday is always nightmare. You're +1 and yet no serious relationship leading to marriage.

Never! I get nice gifts and there is lots of food and I dress nicely and there is a party of course and everyone I love is coming over. cheesy

3. During morning and evening devotion, you are part of the prayer point.

Is it not nice? cheesy

4. Your parents and siblings prey on your salary simply because they assume you have very few responsibilities.

Well, there is a solution to this. You get your money and go on a shopping spree. grin

5. Even when you badly need a car, your family and friends would advice against such cos they feel you'd scare away potential suitors.

I would get a SUV then just to see the looks on their faces ...... priceless grin grin grin grin grin

6. You see family and friends trying to hook you up to some dudes somewhere even against your request or wish.

My family did it only once and it was the last time. grin grin grin They didn't know I can be so embarrassing. grin grin grin

7. Your aggression is simply translated to mean being a potential nagging wife. They'd always reiterate "is this how you will become a wife?".

Exactly would be my answer.

8. You become scared of scrolling your facebook wall cos one way or the other, you'll see friends wedding pixs uploaded.

This can only happen if you believe that they are happier than you just because of marriage.

9. You become active in church activities and taking up hospitable ursher roles.

Me? grin grin grin grin grin grin

10. You become hostile to guys who just want to be your friend. Sometimes you tag them 'time wasters'.

Very Funny indeed. I think a lady just need to look inward, think deeply and forge ahead, not just listening to what people are saying. There is no woman that can't get married as long as she has set her mind to it and work towards it.
