6.7 /40 = roughly 17% of our average daily need of Petrol.

Nigeria needs average of 40 million litres of petrol daily

Where do the remaining 83% come from . Not much of a cheering news for me. Can the govt afford to wait for the private refineries to fill the void, or it should close it up.

IMO, govt should start construction of refineries, and allow it to be managed by private hands.

Even if government started building new refineries, it is going to take some time to complete them.

Anyway.....I think that one good idea would be mini-refineries.We don't need to build a giant project in the name of refinery.

Why is there still fuel SCARCITY?
Why is the fuel still being sold far above the official price that was reduced by only 50kobo to N86.50 from N87 despite over 70% drop in crude prices?

The previous administration already told us that the refineries will be back early part of this year 2016.

http://theeagleonline.com.ng/nigerias-refineries-to-operate-at-optimal-capacity-by-2016-nnpc/

So its a good work by the present administration and not to forget kudos to the previous administration for putting the carcass in place for the vultures to feast on.

Sai GEJ Sai Buhari
Long live Nigeria
Just like the last administration promised that the refineries would work in 2011, then in 2012 , 2014 and 2015 before the 2016 date.

I am dead sure if GEJ had remained, the refineries would not have worked at all. In fact, we might have been looking for a buyer for the country.

Gullible folks will always be gullible.

At what cost are they producing? Just in case you do not know, the refineries are currently running at a huge loss that it would be better to shut them down. Kachikwu has severally suggested selling them off but Buhari will have none of that.

Change is here.

What we could not achieve in 16 years, Baba has done in less than 8 months. Nigeria shall be great again.

Guess who is here again

Ogbeni why do you folks always speak with too much bias? I recalled it was said in GEJ's tenure that production will start fully early this year but as usual, APC came and rubbished that claim and putting the refineries in operation around mid-last year. What happened afterwards, realities rubbished APC's claims as we later found out the refineries weren't functional.

So what is different between the present situation and what was said about refineries operating fully in 2016 (during GEJ's tenure)? APC zombies should bury their heads in shame tho... undecided

.....the devil is in the detail. I find something fishy about this claim that 3 refineries are churning out 6.7mil litres daily at the moment. Throughout last week, the news from NNPC was that Kaduna refinery was outputting 5mil litres daily, are they now saying warri & portharcourt are producing only 1.7mil litres daily?
