Hello everyone

I have been following this thread for a while now . I urgently need someone to refer me to Dr Fagbohun. I sent him a mail and he replied saying their practice is now referral based. Can anyone please refer me? Will be traveling by his grace in May.

Expecting a quick response.

Ghen Ghen...

In my opinion, if you want to go for birth purposes simply apply for a US medical tourist visa. Seeing as it is not illegal to give birth in the states, adequate planning and preparation would most likely result in a visa grant.
Also, I think it is best to just go with the document from the doctor/hospital that you are actually going to use instead of one you just contacted for POE purposes.
Honesty is usually the best and safest policy really.

You are so right! This is what we applied for in 2014, even though we didn't use the visa till 2015 because of various issues. I was so confident @ my POE because I had declared my intent @ the embassy.

Chai this thread has reached part three....

To God be the glory I had my baby girl at Northside Hospital( yeah I know Atlanta is not a favorite destination but I must still drop my comments) she turned three months yesterday grin grin

Dear future Atlanta bound mamas the $3,550 hospital fee for a two day stay is only an estimate as stated in the letter you get from price.estimate email. Hmmmm..
I refused to fall into labor normally oh at 40+ weeks and doctor told me cervix was closed and high up. To summarize the dramatic story I ended up going in for induction and ended up spending a total of $5,410 for hospital bill only (after discount) for three days stay since I ended up being induced and it was only successful at the THIRD attempt. Infact i discharged myself after day 3.( grin grin) So long story short if u are headed to that hospital hold vex money oh hmmm. but I must confess the hospital is FANTASTIC, the services and CARE are oh la la. plus the freebies. upon the gbese I incurred I MAY use them again sha for baby nos 2.

Epistle over...

signing out to return in the nearest future

Bleep

This is coming a lil late for me. Same thing happened to me. I had my baby new year's eve. I went in for induction becos the baby didn't come on time and scan showed the baby was big. I ended up having cs as the baby's heart rate started dropping at some point. I spent 5days in d hospital and left with a bill of almost 11k dollars for just hospital excluding epidural meanwhile the estimate they gave for cs-4days stay was 5,475. I'm still waiting for other bills.
So future northside mums...be ready

Hello All,

God bless all the mama's and papa's in the house for sharing great information.
Please does anyone have info as regards affordable hospitals in New York? Has anyone used(or know someone) that has used Nassau university hospital or Winthrop hospital? it has been difficult getting across to these hospitals to have an idea on their delivery cost. I have contacted some doctors and they say they use these hospitals but they can only give quote for their own services and i have to get the hospital fees myself.

Please help.
Madam take jotter and biro and read from Part 1 of this thread.NY hospitals info plenty for here.
Mercy Medical Centre is also in Nassau county I think and info on doctor, hospital, paediatrician cost breakdown is here too even NICU rates not included in the package was dropped here.
Do small search na. sad

For doctor's hospital their maternity package fee is 3k but don't know about CS. Is finding a doctor that is the problem, most of their doctors don't take patients that are more than 28 weeks. Was considering the hospital before but when I found out about the 28 weeks from almost 4 doctor's that I called, I had to reconsider.
Thanks alot.i hv gotten in touch with 2doctors now and they didn't say anything about 28weeks.though will be getting there when am about 30 weeks.pls which doctors have u this clause.

Good morning everyone
Abeg quick survey poll in regards to airline. My options:
1)British Airways-Rate not bad,POE-JFK but I read here I think about their overzealousness in Heathrow, also read that they are nice to travelling moms in the area of luggage allowance but I have never flown with them before.Chicago POE is a possibility but can be avoided.
2)AF-rate most expensive,POES have used before no issues but 10kg for infant,no stress about fit to fly.
3)Delta-good rate,POE must be Atlanta,still 10kg for baby,4 bags max including stroller/car seat.
Please I need your 2 cents. I gotta pay today.

What POE is the air france?

Hi mums,
Happy new year.... How's everyone doing?
I have 3 questions
1) please how is LAX ( Los Angeles ) as a point of entry
2) is it true that lagos airport won't let you fly past 32weeks? Is it true that they have an ultra sound scan to check the number of weeks to see if you are lying?
2) please with all these Buhari wahala, where can I get dollars at the cheapest exchange rate.

Thanks...

Hi Mimibe , read through older posts and saw that you rented an apartment while in Atlanta to have your baby. Please how did you go about it? Could you rent directly or did someone living there help you out as pay rent via them, payments et al. Thanks
rented directly, they requested for statement of account to be sure of monthly income, international passport, visa page. Though my hubby did everything but the above were document they requested for. They have various lease agreement, ie 3mths, 6mths, the shorter lease were more expensive. You can go online. Payment is thru money order which we did monthly.

Please readdddd naaa people. This forum is not paying anyone here salary naaa. Haba. Plenty questions that have been thrashed are Still been repeated. When you read you remember and even see other things you didn't think of before. Reading is like you completing the syllabus while just jumping to ask questions is just like using those yeye keypoints to prepare for WAEC and JAMB.

I started reading before I got pregnant . I have nothing to add yet because I have not gone for interview or done anything. But the information here is so much confusion go catch you on which to go with. ...

Time is not an excuse. If u need something badly you will go all out for it. I can't imagine how annoying it is for people that have answered this questions severally to see the questions again.

God bless you all for your contributions. If I hear any of una wey no dey read dey halla una babies when dey grow to read ehhhnnnn ...... . Lol

I remember someone gave details of experience of LAX as POE. It was smooth. Someone even (I think Nerf) joked that how LAX can LAX be.

All in all go prepared. Pray pray pray.

1)LAX POE is not stressful but still have your necessary doctor's correspondence.
2)To the best of my knowledge its not true.Its the airline that determines that policy;
KLM/AF/Delta/BA carries up to 36 weeks but BA does not want multiple pregnancy from 32weeks upwards.
The Port Health at the Lagos airport is to further buttress your fit to fly from your doctor in Nigeria and help the airline determine the level of risk/stage of pregnancy for airlines that requires it.
3)Dollar matter cry no be joke now o but someone said a few pages back that Stanbic is selling in their Lagos head office.
All the best and try to rest well o.

I know you did. Thanks again for your response God bless you. My final destination is Alaska and no one has done anything there so I have to figure all that on my own. To make matters worse, all the hospitals in anchorage Alaska have is phone numbers, no email. They rarely pick their calls. They also said they don't mail out email quotes of prices(they are so backward chai!) But I plan on traveling soon to make payments and all since my belle never show (<18weeks). Would come back and go at 35weeks for delivery. That's the best chance I have to get all my burden of proof. This Alaska na wa!

Ok so who will read and post on ur behalf?

U don't wanna know how many Dr's are here... But that's not an excuse...
It's like mbbs
U r on call, u have postings, u have tutorials and u must b awake and alert for lectures, clerk and present ur patients... There's no excuse why ur patients aren't clerk's no matter how tight ur day was.

IF ANYTHING DOCTORS ARE THE BEST AT MULTITASKING... COS OF THE TRAINING.
It's same thing here.
We can help with some answers... But there some questions only you can read up and get answers to. Somethings are really over flogged.
At least search the specific topic u want answers to. (The search option is very helpful)

1. For poe it's different for everyone.. But lax isn't as bad as Iah. Search for lax poe and read people's experiences.... Its gonna b hard for someone to type her experience again.
2. Nope
I was more than 32 weeks when I flew

3. With ur work schedule I believe u can make out time to get hustle for pta (stanbic) or buy from black market.

Pls make out d same time to read. These cbp officials are not smiling. Gather all the required ish
