Okay sir, It shouldn't take more than 3 business days or at least a week if everything is intact and in place. I guess you have to call CSCS once again or go to their office and explain your situation and one can take it from there.
SEC is now involved for Moribund firms. They give the final approval.

Okay sir. Let's wait for the final verdict then! I think emailing SEC or calling them should help as well!

I called the SEC,and I was told they don't deal with individuals. That the SEC only deals with Stockbroking Firms. I think the SEC is just following the 'Nigerian time'!

UBA! - I believe their African play will help them weather the Nigerian storm. The next 2 months will tell. Then again we have been shocked and awed in the past so ...

Madam Mercy, you are right on your points but the major issue rest on the forex restrictions. Remember, Nigeria banks are so resilient and they know how to bring out something from nothing. I will just advise you to buy into the weakness of those companies when u feel like after your due diligence and sell the strength. The market will not be down forever and earnings report will start rolling it from next month.

In a simple sentence: Buy the weakness and sell the strength should be applicable for now.

@Godisfaithful,born2berich,lancee,mercylicious and other respected brothers & sisters in this ministry;after mandatory requirements have been meant, how long does it take the SEC(Securities & Exchange Commission) to approve the transfer of stockbroking account from a moribund(dead) stock broking firm to an active one? It is now more than 2 months that I have done everything that I was asked to do, my stockbroking firm(a very reputable one) keeps telling me that the SEC has not given their approval to the CSCS to effect transfer! Thank you.
Well it all depends on both your current broker and the dead broking firm...Let me use my case as example....my former broker was no longer functioning and I had to transfer my shares to a new broker...I knew the best thing was for me to transfer it to a broking firm that has pedigree and repute so I opted for meristem (I already had an account with them)....After providing all necessary details it took nothing less than 2 weeks to get it done....So in summary, make sure your current broker has pedigree and repute.....I don't think your broker is telling you the truth...Go to cscs yourself and find out what exactly happened...

Sir, am sorry to hear about this. Concerning account transfer from one stockbroker to another shouldn't take 24 hours or maximum of 3 business day. For examples, when i want to transfer my account from one stockbroker to Stanbic, it takes maximum of 1 day. I assume it is your old stock-brokering firm that is playing delay tactics. Tell them you will SEC on their behalf, believe me, they will do it as soon as possible. Once again, am very sorry!
Oga myjoy, moving an account from a moribund/dead broking firm to another broker takes more than one day...Your own must be from a viable broking firm to another broker...

This thread is da bomb.
B2br is the man of the week.

Kudos to all those that made a kill.

I am currently trapped in transcorp, afriprud and fcmb.
I don't even have time these days to set trades, I shld exit my vita foam at 5.30 or 5.35, though na tasere units I get there.

I have plenty idle money now looking for where to invest but am currently blank.
A friend asked me my investment plan this year and till now, I am unable to answer that question.

2016 is likely going to be the worst year for banks. Cot is now zero. Economy is shaking. No money in the polity. Fg, state and lg are broke. Businesses are dying cos of exchange rate. Who do u lend to that won't dafault? Tb rates are 4 to 5%, no fx even to pay for goods that are valid for fx. There is serious reduction in purchasing power. It will affect every sector but some will be hit more. When I talk like this, my friend tells me that it is not for us or believers.

I am just being realistic. I am still in deep thoughts.

Madam mercy, afriprud is a very good stock and I advise you shouldn't worry yourself...My only concern is transcorp and fcmb....Don't expect a good result from transcorp and strategically plan an exit move....As for fcmb, their delayed q3 result is a call for concern...Fcmb is not known for delayed result so I believe that there is something terribly wrong with this stock.
