250 fighters to face lca tejas.

F-16 block 50 for mid range.

J-31 will be our top line fighter.

We are replacing all our f-7s and mirage first. We shall wait till china develops their top line fighters. We dont need sanctions.

How many F-16s do you have?

Around 80.

Looks like another f-16 purchase on way for block 50.

400 are enough for us.

250 jf-17s

100 f-16s

50 j-31 minimum.

You need to consider that india also has china to factor. They will never have all their fighters on our border.

The f-5 and f-4 are 3rd gen fighters.

The latest mig-21 are 3rd gen fighters.

None are bvr capable like jf-17.

The early f-16s are not bvr capable either and they classified as 4th.
Off Topic!! What do you think your guys chances are against the Blackcaps!! They are absolutely pumbling SriLanka!!

250 "3rd generation" fighters to face fleets of Indian SU-30MKIs/Mirages doesn't make any sense either.
Not built to face SU30s that's why they are still buying F16s....they are built to counter Teljas.

That's a potentially huge fighter fleet. How is the Pakistani air force even going to fund that?

Pity about yasir shah though. Gain a bowler and lose another.

Typical pakistan.

Thats the minimum.

We are always around the 450-500 mark for fighter jets.

I believe we will probably procure more surplus f-16s since the f-35 will be replacing them. J-31 needs time.

I doubt we will get j-10 cause its too similar to f-16 block 50.

Haha was just about to say the same thing!! Anyway good thing is Aamer is still only 23, hard to believe he was banned for 5 years!!

Anyway last question, seeing we are deraling the thread a bit!!

When are we going to see international cricket back in Pakistan!! I'm getting tired of seeing Pakistan play at the same 2 venues each time in the UAE!!

Sure, 3 Fighter types are also okay. 4 ...... And you'll have a logistical nightmare, although the J-10B looks a very potent proposition.

I think it's rated 4++ by the chinese, was offered to Argentina as a Typhoon killer.

I thought your former President, the Dictator, ordered 50 J-10s from china, was it(order) cancelled primarily because of it's shared characteristics with the F-16 block 50 or some other reason?

Wait another decade. Uae is dead. No crowd at all in tests.

Anyway how many jf-17 is pakistan producing a year. Im saying cause we surely cant meet the export demand when orders come.

I honestly dont know about j-10. Most likely a combination of china meeting their own demands for j-10, us getting f-16s with similar capabilities and the fact that china is developing an export stealth fighter.

I wouldnt go for it. Personally i want a twin engine fighter as our front line.

The J-31 would fill up that twin engine gap. However, does a twin engine Fighter fit into Pakistani air force doctrine? Looking at your large air force, you've never really flown a twin engine fighter. All your past/present fighter jets seem to be single engine.

The South-Africans, always say your air force got a whooping by the IAF in most of the air engagements you had during the war, do you agree with their assessment ?

According to JLN115,

A fighter which has,

- Fly by wire

- Improved Avionics

- EW capability

- Air-Air capability

- MFDs

Is a 3rd GEN jet.

.....You're left to wonder what they teach these m0rons in South-African schools.

According to the PAC and the Chinese Lead Designer its 3rd gen

They are sticking to the chinese classification.

World doesnt revolve around the west for us.

The Chinese designer used the qualification of 3rd gen in reference to other 3rd gen fighters.

Thus, it is illigocal to argue that you are using a special-snowflake 3rd gen definition if you are comparing it to western 3rd gen fighters.

This whole "B...but China doesnt mean 3rd gen when we say its 3rd Gen" is nothing more than something cooked up by the author of the interveiw with the Chinese Designer... no where else have I ever read abou the Chinese having an independant classification system.

Fact is this: Chinese (who dont need to pretend things are better than they are) openly refer to it as 3rd gen, Paki's get ass-blasted and need to qualify the statement.

TDLR: Paki's on maximum damage controll.

I hate it when people insult my intelligence with bad arguments and blatant misrepresentations.

I have read the interview in question and I got extremely agitated when the author did what he did to the interview.

Chinese are notorious for talking a big game about the capabilities of their platforms, and when even they openly say "its 3rd gen" and then compare it to other 3rd gen platforms... then its pretty cut and dry as to what gen it is.

You don't need a sorcerer to tell you the fighter is a 4 GEN plane.

No one insulted your intelligence, the characteristics of the jet is open source.

Think of cricket(Specifically Test cricket) as chess, enjoyed by the intellectually endowed.

5 days of intense battling, strategizing, planning tactics...changing tactics in the middle of the game, staying disciplined and after all this the match can still very likely end in a stalemate/Draw.

Guess thats why I have such a keen interest in militaries as well!!
