Ok so I have found that the Nigerian High Commission in London authenticates certificates, so I am going to take a day off to go up there, I'm hoping they can stamp a copy for me, worth a try, will call them when I get a chance to confirm.

As I previously stated my original is with the HO and I only have a copy(scanned) and wanted to either get a certified copy from Ikoyi or for the scanned copy to be authenticated.

Sounds like you'd be better off just getting the photocopy certified/authenticated from the Nigerian High Commission in London. I suspect it will be like pulling teeth to get another copy from the Ikoyi Registry office.

1.i met my wife on Facebook and we have been courting since 2014, I met her and her parents finally in Feb 2015 on a visit to Nigeria but lost all the pics I took to show out time together .

2. I have comprehensive (too much) photographic evidence of time spent together on a second visit in Nov 2015 which was also the time I got married (registry and traditional), is this enough photographic evidence?.

3.I am visiting in a month's time Feb 2016 and plan to go mad with picture taking and amongst other things, to compensate for the loss of the pics from the visit the first time around. This is to be sure I "over have" enough evidence and from at leat two occasions before I apply for the visa.

4.my wife plans to approach Uk naric for an English language degree compatibility cert rather than do the English language test, is this a wise move?

From your write-up you seem to be the sponsor, why are you doing the English test?

NB : Read through the thread and ensure all the prerequisites are meet.

Yes @ 7508, she can use the NARIC to rate her certificate if she got first degree in Nigeria. Get her transcript and original certificate and a letter from here school of study to prove she was taught in English and all address to home office visa section Sheffield and still rate it too. With that no need for English test

No entirely correct. The home office has misplaced the original of my marriage certificate submitted in the course of the processing of my wife British passport. The only thing they have told us that we should request for monetary compensation, if we can proof that our marriage certificate was among the document submitted to them

My advice to applicants is to make as many good copies of your MC before using it for UK application. I have to get a copy authenticated by the marriage registry.

This has happened a lot, I follow a group on Facebook called I love my foreign spouse, and one lady's documents and her husbands passport was sent to someone else, and few have had documents not returned even though they put copies of the items they want returning.

I do have photocopy/scanned ones however I cannot use these to get a visa for myself to travel to Nigeria, I will have to get the visa based without it, its just the hassle, I mean why it is such a mission to get a certified copy from the registry is just shocking

we on 8 full weeks now but just 38 working days so over half way now

Calm down, mine took 13 weeks, have not got supporting documents back and before I got the BRP cards was hell too, have to email them again cos I was at the post office giving to me with decision letter and no card
Email them before the card was sent, it's over a month now with my wife no supporting yet but got the card. Just be patient ok, for ur 12 weeks to complete and u will hear good news ok.

I know, I believe I am being patient more then I thought I'd be, its only this week of having extreme insomnia (with 1 night off in 12 nights of work) that I'm thinking about it

also knowing some are already completed way before yours etc even if you applied before them, wondering when or if ill get this interview call as I usually put my mobile in flight mode when I sleep in the day, sods law that calls come in now my mobile is on loud(data off) yet ill put it on silent and no one calls haha

It can be used, if taken at a certified centre and the right certification issued.
