Good day everyone, I am new to this thread and I have tried to read through previous posts. I applied for student visa on the 14th of October 2015, submitting my admission letter from university of cologne as well as my funding letter from the funding agency. Up till now, I am still yet to hear from the Embassy and my fellowship award has started reading since the 15th of September. I have sent up to about three mails to the German embassy in lagos but they keep replying that they are yet to hear from competent authorities in Germany. To those who have experienced this before, please I need your advise. Thank you.

Good evening house,

Please I need to ask some question concerning visitors visa to Germany, my brother in-law lives in Germany and his married to a white lady with a child, he already has his permit since he could come home and sent his mum for omugwo when his wife gave birth. I and my family want to visit him as family vacation and we want him to invite and sponsor us family of 5 (hubby, wife and 3 children) which is not a problem for him.

My question is how much should I have in my account to show that we can take care of our self irrespective that we will be in his house and all that, secondly i have a better job than hubby so am using my company introduction letter, payslip, tax card, pension statement up to 1m , offer letter and promotion letter. What else do you think we can add to the list or is it good enough?although my statement is not big enough but i want the house to help with the actual amount that will convince a Vo to give us visa.

Finally i hope hubby not bringing his own statement or job papers will not hinder our chances.

N/B: This is our first time of travelling out of the country

His sister was refused visa last year in the ground that she never visited the hubby in the UK and she's applying to visit the Brother with her child hope it wont affect us.

Thank you.

The closing balance is not a factor that determines if an applicant is eligible to receive a visa; but the inflows and outflows in your account is a very important factor and how long the account has been in operation.

Your husband should also submit his own documents regardless of his financial state.

I have just created a separate thread different from the German Study visa.

Please house, noone has responded to my comment yet. And is there anyone in the house who has an application for studies in cologne? Thank you.

The alien office in Cologne is quite a hard nut to crack. If you can reach them (which is hard) send them a message explaining when you applied for your interview with the full details. Especially with your date of birth.
Or alternatively, reach your school if they can talk to the alien office on your behalf or at least give you a contact to reach.
I hope you find this useful

To God be all glory, honor & adoration this morning the a.m. mail dropped to come pickup visa. I had my interview since 1st September, 2015 but funded my account in December since resumption is January 6th and partly due to delay in getting my blocked account details. When I called the Alien office in December about my visa I was told that the embassy had sent my documents but recommended rejection because they presumed that my resumption was October! (i couldn't Imagine where they got that from)!!

To cut the short story long cheesy the embassy became blank to every emails sent to clarify the date issues both by my school & myself, school resumed Tuesday and it's quite overwhelming still being around even though last date of resumption was sent to them!

Many thanks to great friends & all contributors here like williamso, eke40seven, rayhut, obiwann, olaochi e.t.c. (pardon me if your name isn't mention & yes I can't forget dolpaz, the guy that first attacked me 2yrs ago when I just got on this forum grin)

To all still waiting or preparing for interview, just trust in God's grace & He will see you through!

Vielen danke und alles gute cool

Congrats brother. Its all about Love. I still remember vividly well the bashing I gave you.

Go to deutschland and succeed bro. What a way to start the new year with un-diluted testimony..

God bless our hustle.

Thank you for responding. I quite agree with you about how difficult it is to penetrate the alien office in Cologne as I have called them and I was told that my call should go to German Embassy Lagos and not to them.

My humble advise to 2016 hopefuls - Do not apply for a student visa interview with Berlin Universities' admission letters, unless you have 3-4 clear months in between your interview date and your enrollment deadline

Please don't generalize with your case, Do you know how many people came to berlin this winter?. As much as I agree that Berlin takes time, there is no need to exaggerate the time 3-4 months (haba fear God na). On a normal day, Berlin takes at least 6/7weeks after interview.
Let's learn to say things the way they are. Your case was an exceptional.

Hello guys,

It's a pretty tough job combing through the thread thus I have missed some info. I'd appreciate a quick answer please.

Has anyone successfully used a Teaching Hospital issued birth certificate for visa application? Is it compulsory to restrict it to either NPC or sworn affidavit?

Thanks.

Thank you very much for the file you sent.
To your question- not having any work experience won't affect visa issuance. But I think you should go for service first.

You can fund your blocked account before or after the visa interview.

Please find time to go through the pages of this thread - you will really find all the help you need

Bros no vex.

Guys - Please don’t mind me. I was only “exaggerating” and "generalising with my case”. And my school does not know what they are talking about when they said there is a bureaucracy issue in Berlin. They don’t know what they are saying. It takes 6/7 weeks to process student visa. So if you have 6/7 weeks between your interview date and enrolment deadline, please go for it. And whatever happens, you can thank Mr. Gcapable.

Happy now?

You don't get the gist, and obviously, u didn't read my post well. My search on daad gave only one school for one construction course in Berlin. However, there have been talks of daad itself being non-comprehensive. So, it's only wise sourcing for first-hand info here.

Hi babanila I went for blocked account opening on the 5th of january. I arrived about 7.10a.m and was told to go out and wait till 7.45a.m. At the exact time I went in after presenting my passport to the ibo man at the gate, and also showed him my 4500# cash b4 going in with 2 copies of my passport(the relevant pages), my admission letter(2 copies) as well as the blocked account form(3 copies), the ibo man asked me why I had 3 copies of the blocked account form, and I replied that I just made an extra copy for myself. The blocked account opening didn't take more than 2 mins, as I signed in presence of the very fast and sharp chineese looking German lady. I handed over the 4500# cash to her and she gave me the 200# change and blocked account slip, that was all. Please remember not to sign except in the presence of the V.0, I was the only one for blocked account on the day, most were for certification and visiting visa but mine was faster. Alles gute.
