Just got response from the French embassy in Lagos after 6 weeks of applying. This is coming after several joint visits and appeals at the Lagos consulate by applicants for the past 2 weeks. But I am positive that of others (some applying since early June) will follow suit asap.

My Rule No 1 of applying for student visa in France : # Apply via the Abuja Embassy no matter what it takes. French Consulate is as 'bureaucratic' as the word itself and could take months to process.

My application has entered the 5th week. How do you manage to visit the Lagos Consulate since they do not allow individuals inside. I am called them multiple times and written to them twice. I am even thinking of writing to them this Friday. School session starts in two weeks time and kind of lost on what to do.

Do you know the grandes des ecoles in france the ecole politechnique and the ecole superieure normale. Those are like some of the best engineering schools in the world and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Would have really loved to study in france but the french system of education is very very difficult. Only the smartest people on france end up going to the grandes des ecoles and omly the top of the class end up joining the corps des mines but if you are student with Godlike abilities then france is very much for you.
Re: Naija Grad Student In France by Nobody: 8:01pm On Jan 10, 2016
You need to get in touch with Campusfrance through email in Lagos so as to schedule an appointment. I think it will make sense to do it now as the work load based on student visa would be much lower on the neck of the consular officers. On the day on your appointment all your relevants documents would be prechecked and if found satisfactory, CampusFrance would then issue an attestation with a scheduled date for your visa application at the French consulate in Lagos or Embassy at Abuja .
On that day you will be allowed to enter with your attestation document, after which you submit your visa application form, pay your application fee and submit your biometrics. The decision will be made by the Consulate and normally it take 2 weeks except if you apply through VFS. Regards

Hi!
Plese how did you go about booking your appointment with campus france abuja?
I live in Lagos, but I want to submit in abuja. I'm trying to work out a way to save money on flights.

Is it possible to go to vfs to submit on the same day you have your appointment with campus France? Also, how long after the vfs submission is the biometrics at the embassy? Like in days?

Sorry for my numerous questions, but please I'd really like to know the full process.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply!!

I'm a bit confused though, are you saying I should go to campus france Lagos, and not Abuja for the preliminary interview?
And is it campus France to decide if I submit in Lagos or Abuja? Or I could just go wherever after I get the attestation?

Thanks
i think there are rules guiding that . If you are based in Lagos or SW region you have to go through the lagos office and vice versa . Except in some case where campusfrance lagos reroute your application to abuja
