So when a player moves he becomes surplus to requirement? When Di Maria left Madrid to Man Utd then to PSG he was surplus to requirement?

Your useless sentiment is becoming nauseating.

I guess maybe you don't know Barca much, hence the reason you believed it. So after registering 2 of our players (Arda and Vidal), you still think we will wanna strengthen in the middle of the park?

Lucho is already having selection headache with the available players. Ramsey for £50m? Come on, don't tell me this is the first time you are seeing this very rumour. It has been on like this for 3 seasons at least, and never was there a time Barça dreamt or will dream of getting him. Not saying he is bad or something, but then, if you know your club very well, you will always know the likely players they will or will not sign.

Okay fine! They were rejects. Prove it otherwise. If a club says it doesn't need you anymore as a result of some other player(s), then you are surplus to requirements (or rejects as stated by you).

Any objections?

Just as Arsenal has been linked to Benzema,...

What comes out on the papers may be true, may be false, until the club makes a public statement.

Usually clubs do not come public on their transfer targets until a deal has been reached.

For Ramsey to have made it to the rumour mill is a statement on its own.

Mata was Chelsea's best player for two seasons, but left for Man Utd. Does that make him a reject?

I don't know your idea of what a reject is, for me it is a player that has lost it.

For example everybody saw how Falcao played last season for Man Utd, his performances were poor, he moved. He was a reject.
Pedro left Barcelona for Chelsea due to little playing time, he was not a reject.
Chicharito was told he would not get enough playing time, he moved, he was not a reject.

When a player feels he can get better opportunities else where doesn't make him a reject.

I get your point, cause I always say rumours shouldn't be rejected out of hand. But then, some are just ridiculous because you see no feasibility in them.

Let me assure you of one thing... Barça will never go for Ramsey. Not now, not ever! You may bookmark this page for reference purposes.

Bro... A reject is not necessarily a player who has lost it. Its a player who the club thinks is surplus to requirements.

Reject seem a tad awkward to me, hence the reason I used the phrase 'surplus to requirements' from the outset.

Sanchez was surplus to requirements at Barça. This doesn't necessarily mean he was bad or something. Infact, on the contrary. But at a point the club had to send someone away, someone they feel is not needed as much compared to what they had or who they intend to get. So, making you the scape goat means you are the one they feel they can do without and hence the phrase 'surplus to requirements'.

I don't know if you are catching my drift. I know the problem with you. The bone of contention for you is that, you think by surplus to requirements (or reject according to you) the player is bad or has nothing to offer. That is where you get it wrong. Ozil was surplus to requirements not because he was bad. They had to make someone the scapegoat. They had to send someone away, someone they feel is not needed as compared to others available. I hope you noticed the emphasis I laid on 'feel' above. Which means, not that you are a necessary liability or that you are necessarily bad, but they probably think you ain't needed.

You will never sell? And I will never buy. It's simple.

Let's just leave the rumours for those who are cut-out for it. It's balderdash!

I accept your definition. I accept people based on their definitions. But look at this...

Both of you were not on the same page, but you came out to defend him.

We signed Ozil for £42m and Sanchez for £35m, yet the one with his brains on his pelvic dared to laugh.

I came in because I felt you had a misconception about what surplus to requirements or reject meant.

It's all good though.

Dude if a player is really needed to be sold or made a scape goat as you pointed they don't sell for that high.
Players bought for over £35M and £40M aren't surplus to requirement.
By your analogy if De Gea's deal to real madrid had been successful you would have tagged him surplus to requirement at United.
This ur reasoning is shallow and you are myopic

Ozil and Sanchez were getting playing time in their various clubs either as subs or starters in some games, Players getting playing time are not surplus to requirement unless you are saying only a certain set of 11 players will play all thru the season.
Adebayor is a case of surplus in Tottenham , Debuchy is a surplus cos Wenger is anxious to sell him.

Your reasoning is more than myopic. How much did we sell Sanchez for? And tell me which top side would sell a player of his calibre at such a ridiculously low amount?

Can you sell Sanchez below £50m?

Madrid sure can't do that. The least they would sell Sanchez if they were in Barça’s shoes would have been above £50m.

Besides, you wanna compare Atletico of those days to Barça? Haba na...
