Pls I just want to know. Fallen out of status for either visitors visa (b1b2), or student visa (f1). Which of these two cases have more implications, or are they the same ?
Sir, That's a technical question and I think the @Lagosniv will be in the best position to answer that and also this thread is for people attempting to apply for NIV or about to renew anything else is jara.

I want to ask this question.
I will be having a short break of 2 weeks from my work very soon and intend to spend like 10 days from it in the US, and that will be in February. However, I will be having another full one month annual leave in April which I will like to spend in the US
My question is this : if I travel in February to the US and later travel again in April, won't I be questioned at the POE for coming/visiting the US so closely dates; February and then April.
Thanks

Sir do you have the visa? if the answer is yes then you will be stamped in for 6 months and you're free to come in and leave as you like so far you have nothing suspicious on you.

The reason I asked is that I know of a guy who has been out of status on a visitor visa for almost 2 years now, and also another person on a student visa who didn't even continue with his studies and later fall out of status. So i was just wondering who has more problem between them, but I personally tot the one with the f1 student visa out of status has more damages done to himself than the one with a visitor visa.

Hello all, I have a multiple entry visa to the USA and have visited once, planning to visit again but this time with my children. Anyone with interview experience with kids, possible questions. Kids ages are 7 yrs, 5 years and months. Will my own visa increase their chances of getting theirs. I have a good job, head a department in the Lagos state and just intend to take them for vacation. Advice's and experiences needed pls.

I'm 99% sure they will get their visas. Let their mom follow them. Nothing will be asked from them. Little questions will be asked from the mom, like: are u all travelling as a family ?, etc
Let your wife go with your passport. But I'm quite sure they will all have their visas approved

@Olawole and seye . As long as you are not a citizen of the US, customs and border Protection will have to deem u admissible to be allowed entrance into the united states EVERY SINGLE TIME you attempt To enter their country.
This includes but is not limited to asking you questions on your purpose and prior travel history. So even if they stamp u in for an amount of time and you exit , you will still have to demonstrate that you should be allowed in. No be your papa land be that o!

@seytok this may not be what u are seeking for but asking for chances is like asking for platitudes. It dosent do anything For your application or the kids. Even the vo's on their thread cannot answer you that.
However preparation and hardwork is the key. U asked for experiences. People have posted. So you need to dig it out. Sadly my brain isn't at its optimal today so I can't remember their monikers. Go to part one of the thread and try some of these combinations 'My kids interview' , 'me and my children interview' and read people transcripts as it Concerns you. Good luck

@LadyGuinivere I get what you're saying and you're very right.. ''No be my papa country'' but he's free to visit the U.S anytime so far he has a good reason for visiting.

He's free to enter the plane at any time with his visa to enter america. Cbp decides if he enters. Do u get the distinction? If there's no wahala of course cbp will clear him but to say once he has a good reason dosent quite cut it. What u consider a good reason may not be considered so by oyibo cbp.
Did u read the story of a frequent traveller family were sent back and their visas cancelled on the birthing thread?
I'm not saying the poster will be sent back. I just pointed out the fact for academic purposes

U don't need any letter of consent. Good thing he already has a valid US visa. Just make sure u have a photocopy of the visa page and be quick to tell the VO that he already has a visa.

I had very same experience as hubby already had a visa before my kids and I went for our interview. The vo only asked if I was married and why he wasn't going with us. I quickly told him the he already has a visa and would be travelling with us. He then asked for a copy of the visa and that was the end of my interview. We got ours. Most importantly don't forget to pray!!!

Hello all.. Happy New Year, Great work here Lady G,seyewest, cozybunch, nife(sth) grin and co

On behalf of my elder sister and my younger sister, the two of them no allow us rest.. my younger sis 28yrs running her masters programmes in EKSU,single wants to accompany my elder sis 34 years, married with 3 kids (banker) to the states for the easter vac

My elder sis initially promised one of her kids(her eldest,11) a vac to Disneyworld if she could win a particular (well known, recognised) national scholarship competition and which she won and she's got a scholarship to her university level..

question 1,is it really necessary to tell the VO all ds details as a reason for their travelling or she shd just mention Vacation cos this my sis already planned going to the embassy with all my nieces awards and all and ready to explain how she won each stages, from state to national, how she got 79 schools beaten down

Question 2,my younger sis wants to go with them hence made the suggestion to include my elder sis other two kids(4 and 2) in the application to make her travelling with the family justifiable as to help out with the kids.. is it really justifiable?

Question 3,my elder sis already applied to usa twice 2yrs ago and was refused,1st interview she was asked if pregnant and she said no which she was but she was either scared or nervous or I don't knw y she lied sha,she wasn't even well prepared..she went a month after well prepared with lots of confidence but wasn't even asked much, the VO just smiled and said "you were here a month ago"and got refused instantly(i guessd they sensed some desperation) in the form she's filling now,she doesn't knw what reason to write as to why she was been refused the 1st and 2nd time,we only assumed mayb it's because of the lie abt the pregnancy which is even obvious because she had her 3rd child afterwards and she's applying with her now

Question 4.. my elder sis had already been to uk twice with her 1st two kids and my younger sis dubai once.. my elder sis is scared that my younger sis lack of hometies(masters student and single) and travel history will affect her application the 3rd time while my younger sis is scared my elder sis's previous refusals will affect her 1st time usa visa app which she doesn't have any choice tho, once my elder sis is refused, her app is automatically refused cos my elder sis is her sponsor but she's scared if this won't affect her future applications..and if they feel my younger sis,a student,28 and single isn't qualified, will it affect my elder sis and her kids or she alone will be denied?

Last question.. my elder sis estimated 2m for the trip but at the time of the interview, she may not have up to that as her balance, does it really matter or is it a must she has the 2m as her balance or more?

Thanks y'all.. don't mind me I always like being detailed so you can help tackle the questions with better understanding

LadyGuinivere is correct on her analysis. However, I have a little concern on your younger sister. Not that she does not stand a chance. Is just that she (younger sister) being an adult will be expected to have serious ties. Her education is not strong enough. Having said that, visa interviews are case specifics in that, the fact that your sister is the sponsor can be put into consideration.

Good Luck.

Yes and yes

The question is straight forward and you answered correctly. However, in reality in u.s after 9/11 it is extremely difficult for cbp to allow that.

Your admissibility like LadyGuinivere said is soly discretionary (hands of cbp officer) and is considered on each point of entry to the united state

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by tobidancer: 9:09am On Jan 11, 2016
Visa Expiration Date is just the last date u can use the Visa to travel into the US. If your Visa expires on Dec 31 u can still travel on Dec 31 provided u will arrive in the US on the 31. The length of your stay is not on the Visa it is on the I-94. People do have expired Visa but their I-94 is still valid. A US Visa is just for u to travel to a US Point of Entry and apply for entry. The expiration date of the I-94 is the main thing.
The Immigartion Officer at the point of entry will make a decision on how long u will stay depending on your circumstances but they normally give 90 days or 6 months except for people coming for Conference or Training that has a specific end date
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by tobidancer: 9:10am On Jan 11, 2016
So long as the visa is valid, you can travel into the country. Also, your duration of stay should not extend beyond the expiry date of the visa. I.e. you must state on the landing card that you're leaving the country before the visa expires.

The irony is, most likely the Immigration people will award you a six month permit - even when you intend to spend only one week. Technically that allows you to stay beyond your visa expiry date, but it is better if you just leave. Makes you look legit for future applications.

No questions, no biometrics for kids however let them know where you're taking them to for vacation. If Disney land, let them have an idea of it

Also go with hubby's visa page as well as yours. No documents needed.

A quick question please, how were you able to add them to your profile since you weren't applying? Or did you set up a different profile for them?

Does the US give entry visa at point of entry? I mean, traveling from Nigeria to US and be given the visa over there. If possible, In what case(s) do they do this?

Pls can anyone help answer these urgently.
