It's a job search website. Most firms use it to advertise for job openings.

Linkedln is a grace land, you may not get invited for applications you did but with a well constructed profile and cv, you can get interview invites even beyond Nigeria and if u perform well, you land the job.m

Make sure u have a skype account and always online to respond

how does one direct the application letter especially when you don't know which positions might be open. or can one submit ordinary CV?

1.Go to profile
2.click on Edit profile
3.click on country and change to your desired country
4.save
if u cant locate dos feature on your phone that means ur phone isnt compartible with it however u can use a PC. perharps that will help u locate it easily..

Visit the linkedin site on a PC..

Then go to settings..
That should do

I will generally say you have a good updated linkedin account..

And let your address, phone contact and email be there..(for over 1year, my fone numba wasn't there, funny!)

And use a corporate profile pix
Ur name too should be simple..avoid alias and other irrelevancies
Try to network with people in ur career path
Also, follow companies u av interest in..u can even follow the HR if possible

Upload ur resume on it too.
Also join groups that are in ur line

Its a professional social networking platform companies and individual use to relay information, job advert inclusive.

U get information and daily updates on what some companies are actually up to and profiles of individuals in the professional network.

Its just a professional network site not for jobs

The question shouldnt be only if the individual is qualified but include how well have one packaged one's profile to attract HR attention. I made sure i packaged mine professionally with a goodlooking profile pic to match, well detailed job experience and educational qualifications, professional qualification (neccesary or not even NYSC CDS ), awards....etc make it packed not scanty...so I have gotten satisfactory views from employers even my current one I got thru linkedin

I got my current job with an IT firm in Lagos Island on Linkedin. It works. Just be patient and ensure your necessary details are well included in your profile. Best of luck.
