Jonathan Should Fight Back Now. by OLADD: 9:14am On Jan 12, 2016 |
If erstwhile President Jonathan thinks Buhari and the leadership of APC will be magnanimous in victory and allow him to enjoy his well deserved rest after meritoriously serving the nation, he must be making an unpardonable and grave mistake. The ongoing selective and vindictive phantom arms purchase probe has really proven that Buhari and APC are not in power to serve the interest of Nigerians but solely for vendetta, name-calling and blame games The nation is aware of how APC connived with INEC (through preplanned and lopsided distribution of PVCs that glaringly gave the north electoral advantage over other regions) to rig the election in its favour but Jonathan against all odds decided to relinquish power despite alarming reasons not to do so. Characteristic of APC, instead of savouring its victory and concentrate on governance, it chose to perpetually humiliate Jonathan and his party. For those who care to know, there's none of the "sins" for which Jonathan and PDP are been persecuted that APC as a party has not committed both in the past and the present. Despite the level of mismanagement under the Republican adminstration of Bush which threw United States into recession, despite wasting both human and financial resources on a needless war in Iraq, the government of Obama chose to concentrate on governance instead of using the shortcomings of its predecessor to propagate its own image. Typical of the Blackman mentality, Buhari is unearthing Jonathan "sins" to shod up his badly smeared public image. It's on this note that many well meaning Nigerians are asking him (Jonathan) to fight back instead of always being on the defensive. He should use everything at his disposal, legal or otherwise to save his political carrier but if he doesn't, Buhari and APC are heck bent in destroying him in other to play down their ineptitude and inability to govern Nigeria. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

OLADD: What do you expect from an IPOB youth who benefited from the scraps from the masters table under Jonathan. Jonathan presided over the most corrupt government in the history of this country. Typical pained IPOB wailer. Its only the north that voted for Buhari in their own myopic eyes. All the people in Edo, Imo, the SW, Delta and Rivers that stood in the sun to vote for Buhari are Fulanis too Just imagine the illiteracy displayed by this IPOB apologist! You say George Bush "mismanaged" the economy of the USA, that is political and economic failure. He did not sabotage the future of his country by participating and encouraging the pillage of the commonwealth of this country. Money meant to procure arms for the nation's troops were diverted into private pockets under the authority of your hero. So what are you suggesting? Buhari should ignore all the billions of dollars embezzled by GEJ and his cronies? He should pretend nothing happened? It is people like this that are destroying this nation. 26 Likes 1 Share |

Fight back with what? clean hands? Fight back with what?honesty? Fight back with what? that the rot of Nigeria under him did not end at his Office? Fight back with what? lack of common sense? Truth is, Jonathan has nothing to fight with, and the goodwill people had for him has eroded with the mind blowing revelations, of looting in his watch as the President. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

You're confused. You shot yourself in the foot when you admitted Jonathan had sins which Buhari should over look simply because Jonathan conceded defeat. When did conceding defeat has now become a source of immunity? 13 Likes 1 Share |

OrlandoOwoh: The word "sin" was actually stated with "quotation" in my post. In order words, it's only in the eyes of you and APC that Jonathan's shortcomings are the sole reason why Nigeria has found itself in this current state. I repeat, there's nothing Jonathan did that hasn't been done by previous administrations including the APC govt at State level. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

OLADD:EFCC is investigating the misappropriation of funds meant for the purchase of arms to Boko Haram. Was it the APC government that approved the fund? Has anybody fingered denied they got part of it? Jonathan has not yet been invited, save your tears for him. 12 Likes |

OrlandoOwoh: Buhari's APC govt initiated the probe through EFCC. It was APC adminstration that sent the petition to the EFCC in the first instance. Nigerians should ask APC governors both past and present to account for all the security votes under their watch. 4 Likes |

EdCure: Well said. I don't know how some people reason, so if it is proved Jonathan participated in corrupt practices and he is persecuted, he should fight back. Right now no one has mentioned Jonathan's name, If he tries to get involved with any defense mechanism what message do they think he will be sending across. 3 Likes |

OLADD: This "probe past governors" that rolls easily out of your mouths eh, you realize if they start picking up past governors for corruption you realize it's PDP members that'll still cry the most. For every Amaechi there are about 3 Akpabios. So y'all should be careful what you wish for. Personally, I could care less who it is that goes to jail as long he's found guilty of stealing funds 6 Likes |

EdCure: I am not one of those youths whose psyche have been damaged. Contrary to your insinuation (and that of Wole Soyinka), it's not corruption that's fighting back but selective prosecution tendencies. Choosing to concentrate on the opposition while overlooking the atrocities of your party members will definitely attract dire consequences and that's what will befall Buhari's govt if he continues this way. The fight against corruption must be all-encompassing and holistic. 3 Likes 1 Share |

OP,you're just been sentimental up there. Even if Buhari decides to probe only the immediate past administration(which I highly doubt he will),it's what he feels is right, and most Nigeria are fully in support of him in that. The amount of misappropriation and corruption that was norm under GEJ is mind nauseating. At some point,Nigerians should be able to say "enough is enough" and rid the country of these criminals who have placed them in perpetual dungeon. It doesn't really matter where Buhari decides to start from in this present campaign against corruption; when he leaves office, another administration can still probe him and his cabinet. We have to start from somewhere; we might not have started it right, but it's a progress. 4 Likes |

Ebukaobi: Dude, Bush led the United States to economic recession while Jonathan despite his govt's shortcomings propelled Nigeria to number one economy in Africa. Despite loss of lives arising from Bush's unpopular invasion of Iraq and its associated economic costs, Obama did not deem it necessary to embark on any smear campaign neither did he demonise his predecessor. My point is that Buhari and APC do not possess any attribute to condemn or prosecute Jonathan and his aides. If Buhari is really sincere in fighting corruption, he should ask EFCC to invite Fashola, Kwankwasso and Ameachi for questioning based on petitions written against them. Any finally, it's youths like you whose minds are tainted with wicked, selective and perverse justice as been perpetuated by Buhari that myopically think Nigeria can move forward as it's been run. 3 Likes |

OrlandoOwoh: #Dasukigate itself is sheer political manipulation. The fund in question was not entirely meant for arms purchase as been brandied by Buhari and APC. The same "crime" PDP is been maligned is what APC celebrates at State level. Let Aregbesola, Kwankwasso, Fashola and the rest account for their respective State Security Votes. 1 Like |

shaqhead: Do not take the position of some APC moles who parade themselves as PDP leaders as the position of the party's hierarchy. Those speaking against Jonathan from within PDP are the people who clandestinely worked for APC in the last election. They were PDP members during the day and APC financiers during the night. OK? |
Re: Jonathan Should Fight Back Now. by OLADD: 11:46am On Jan 12, 2016 |
OrlandoOwoh: So we should continue to chase after tse-tse fly and leave lice on the head? Security Votes had been a conduit pipe through which all parties had financed their elections (including Buhari's election) in the past. It must be probed too. |
