africaken:Your point? The UPDF never engaged the Seleka force reinforced by units commanded by the brother of a certain president. Which took Bangui or should I say. The reason UPDF is there is a strategic one. |

MikeCZAR: Ugandan Troops Clash With seleka Rebels in Central African Republic KAMPALA, Uganda—Ugandan troops hunting for fighters loyal to Joseph Kony in the jungles of Central African Republic on Tuesday clashed with Seleka rebels for a third consecutive day, in the latest distraction to U.S.-backed efforts to apprehend the fugitive warlord.read more http://blogs.wsj.com/frontiers/2014/07/01/ugandan-troops-clash-with-rebels-in-central-african-republic/ |

MikeCZAR:anti- balaka were just like a fly to seleka armed with machete, amulets and a few guns ,the french involvement is what curtailed their involvement in CAR |

africaken: No, i do not have an "attitude" what I have is facts. You have the "attitude", i dont quite know the whats or whys of it all... but somehow the SANDF has made you deeply butthurt Now, if you wish to post provocational material on this forum, then I too can post it. And guess what... i will win that little game because the we dont get our bases over-run and we shure as hell make sure that we dont leave our dead on the battlefield. And fyi, its not "us" its "i"- you arent the forums spoksman. 3 Likes |

SANDF isn't holy than thou if it messes up we will comment about it and no matter the fairy tale you tell us we will critique 2 Likes |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Patchesagain: 9:21am On Jan 13, 2016 |
africaken: The problem here is that you are "critical" of an action by the SANDF - despite us providing you a plethora of information on the topic that states otherwise. You lack any real material with which to critique the SANDF so you have gone about "critiquing" in a pathetically passive-aggressive manner by posting captured equipment. So, let me give you some reading material: 1. Scope of military support to the CAR http://www.dfa.gov.za/docs/2011pq/pq78.html 2. Rebel account of the battle, gathered by Journalists inside Bangui http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2013/04/03/sa-soldiers-carved-us-up-say-rebels 3. Brief summery by respected military researcher and Janes corrisponded http://www.iol.co.za/sundayindependent/how-deadly-car-battle-unfolded-1.1493841#.UWrq40rhdiJ Notice that the salient facts of #2 and #3 are the same - the Rebels suffered heavy casualties, their attack on the captial was halted etc. Now, was the way that we handled the aftermath of the battle right? No it was not, but that was a political issue, South Africa has to be very careful about our behavior on the inter-state level due to the bad reputation we built during Apartheid and again with Lesotho in the 1990's so we cant just go a smash the sh1t out of whoever we want whenever we want... we have to ask permission now :-( But still, the SANDF was prepared to go back in: - Gripen, Rooivalk, Oryx and approx a battalions worth men were forward deployed to our defacto FOB in Uganda in anticipation of going back into CAR http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=30633:rooivalks-gripens-and-troops-were-sent-to-the-car&catid=111:sa-defence&Itemid=242 - Some commentators found this deployment of re-enforcements to be unconstitutional http://mg.co.za/article/2013-04-08-zuma-constitution-car-deployment-sandf - Zuma flew to meet with the Chadians and other major players about CAR, with Gripen and Rooivalk in place even after troops had withdrawn from CAR http://mg.co.za/article/2013-04-03-why-exactly-is-zuma-attending-chad-summit-on-car There you go, a whole span of resources. patches689: patches689: Are you crying? Or do you feel like crying? We warned you before not to trow stones cos you leave in a glass house. Africaken made you you speechless to the extent that you can even defend yourself. He expose all your lies and am sure you now know how your cameramen soldiers performed in CAR, Burundi, Congo and Sudan. You are in no way special. |

Iblawi1: Crying? No Irritated? Yes. How did he expose my lies? 2 captured soft skinned vehicles? Unknown mem wearing peices of equipment that comes from a multidude of sources? Our performance in CAR is something that few militarys in the world can perform -200 men stopped over 3000 for 13 hours - inflcited over 400 casualties for the loss of 13 men - forced seleka to offer a cease-fire - Seleka say that they thought they were fighting 800 men Special? No we arent - by international standards. But by African standards we are giants... allways have been allways will be. Deal with it. 2 Likes |

Patchesagain: bias report told by south africans and even those so called expert are just that expert who know hearsay, from the accounts of seleka they say they killed more than 30 south africans, now who should we believe ! seleka gave you 72 hours to leave CAR or they were going to react and thats what they did |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by patches689: 2:26pm On Jan 13, 2016 |
africaken: 1. Seleka confirms their casualty figures 2. Seleka gave no such deadline... and even if they did, we delayed our departure by 13 hours and our plane tickets cost them 400 men I seriously dont understand why you take such issue with this... i have provided you with the testimony of both seleka and a Janes corrispondent and still you have a problem with it. You need to get your head out of your arse 1 Like |

africaken: - 13 men dead is "fvcked up"? What then is 400 dead? - tiny amounts of equipment were captured by the rebels, over 15 Geckos were deployed, only 3 captured with only 2 of those being operational. No heavy weapons were captured nor was our base over-run. I have presented you with a multitude of information and your only response is "its biased"... with providing any counter evidence. I am beginning to think you are arguing from a position of bias, probably stemming from some offence you felt earlier in this thread. I am still waiting for you to substantiate some other cliams you have made - such as the 72 hour dealine 2 Likes |

africaken:Biased?? Do you read our news?? Our News outlets never have a good thing to say about the SANDF, except for Defenceweb that also now and then reports on the good things...When we won the 2014 CIOR MILComp, it was ONLY Defenceweb that reported on it.....When Germany mistakenly fired on a fishing boat during Ex Good hope ALL our news outlets reported that it was a SAN ship that fired at the boat. Also, there is no possible way that the Government can hide the deaths of soldiers in SA, so you can rest assured that we lost only 13 in Bangui. you can also rest assured that the reports from South Africa are most definitely as unbiased as they come!! |

SA soldiers in CAR retreat to barracks, want out Bangui - South African soldiers in the Central African Republic are seeking safe passage to the airport after taking heavy losses during fighting with Seleka rebels, Reuters reports.http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/SA-soldiers-in-CAR-retreat-to-barracks-want-out-20130324 |

africaken: What exactly do you think this proves or shows us? Our own sources tell the exact same story - we fell back to the base. How is 200 men being pushed back by upwards of 3000 a bad thing? It is to be expected!! Dude, you need to get over whatever personal issues you are having right now. Stop trying to paint an immense tactical victory as defeat - you have tried to create objectives for us that we do not have, you have crated a sequence of events that does not involve us. Deal with the facts at hand. |
